Christine Nöstlinger: Liebe Tochter, werter Sohn! Translation of selected chapters and their stylistic analysis

This work deals with the stylistic analysis of selected texts by Austrian author Christine Nöstlinger. The basic features of the writer's texts are shown on ten selected letters from the book Liebe Tochter, Werter Sohn! Die Nie geschriebenen Briefe der Emma K., 75 Zweiter Teil. A brief overview of her work is also a part of this thesis. The stylistic analysis is based on the model of translational analysis by Christiane Nord [Nord 2009], the thesis includes a translation proposal of the letters into Czech. The translational analysis is supplemented by relevant conclusions discussed in the Hans- Werner Eroms book of style introduction and stylistics [Eroms 2014]. The following chapter is translation of ten selected letters into Czech and notes to the translation with respect to lexicology and syntax. Possible translation shitsare noted in this chapter. The identification of the individual shifts is based on the theory of Anton Popovič [Popovič 1975]. Translation method is included. The aim of this thesis is to determine, how Christine Nöstlinger's texts impact on reader, what increases their readability. Last but not least, to create adequate translation into Czech, which could introduce one of the most important German-writing authors of books for children and youth to Czech audience.
