RÉSUMÉ This thesis deals with female characters in the work of Gabriela Preissová. Introductory chapters give a brief outline of the life of Gabriela Preissová and its contribution to the Fund of Czech literature, further attention history context in which the author came in last but not least poetry realistic figure that analyzes plays crucial role. Pivotal part of the work lies in the analysis of individual works, with emphasis on display and function of female characters. Attention is also paid to the role of dialect and songs that complete the poetry of Gabriela Preissová a substantive and creative way enrich realistic creative method. In the last chapter dealing with criticism as motivation and possible destruction of other works. 93
Depiction of problematic childhood in a tale-prore of the 1990's (A report on thematic and innovative literature for children)

The Graduation theses reviews imaging of being an outsider, handicap and family difficulties in prose with child character. It focuses on the front writer's pieces of children's literature written in 1990s. Introductory chapter applies to the Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Together with other specialized literature this theory presents a basis for authors of the children's literature. It allows them to understand children (and human generally) behavior which helps them to describe it in a more realistic way. The following chapters are devoted to the comparison of books where the main character and his companions face many adverse circumstances. Attention was paid to methods which had been used to present the topics to the reades - particular compositional methods, used means of narrator, language instruments etc.
Character of a good person in novels by Božena Němcová

This bachelor thesis focuses on the character of "a good person" that is in all works by Božena Němcová. The theoretical part deals with the time context of her work and on the author's life. In the following analysis of chosen short stories - Karla, Divá Bára, Chudí lidé a Dobrý člověk - special character features of the good-person type are discovered. This type should help to reduce the social evil by playing the part of a model.
Ferdinand Kafka (1841-1926) . Period Cultural Educational Activity in the Region

The bachelor thesis is focused on the personage of Ferdinand Kafka (1841-1925), a representative of period cultural and educational activities in the context of the Malé Svatoňovice area, at the utter end of Czech lands, lying at the sharp Czech-German linguistic line. Public activities of Ferdinand Kafka occur in the second half of the 19th century and the first two decades of the following one. The case study is on a topic which has never been researched, and works with a historical-comparative method that draw from a large amount of primary sources, such as from personal archives of Kafka's family or the document collection of the amateur theatre. This profile takes notice of Kafka's life events, family and social background, and, above all, of his work for the region. We can find Ferdinand Kafka as a council man, responsible for decision making in his home town, and as a speaker of the people, ensuring communication between inhabitants and their aristocrats. He is described as a folk writer and a gifted public narrator. This follower of revivalist traditions contributed to national culture also by the foundation of a large number of local Czech educational guilds, such as the readers'company. Theme of the city in a contemporary Czech fairy tail story

Diploma thesis named Theme of the city in a contemporary Czech fairy tale story aims to examine various styles of constructions of space and shaping it in a Czech literature for children and youth of last decade. This thesis chooses a theme that is popularized by Pavel Šrut and his novel Lichožrouti - city space. In the first part of this thesis are briefly characterized children proses which were chosen for analysing. Mainly because of showing on which aspects of space are these proses focused and because in the theoretical section are mentioned some of the findings connected to chosen books. The last part of this thesis is focused on analysing the interpretations of different text sections from space point of view. Parts related to each individual proses are organized and divided by locations, in which the books are placed. Taking into account that authors are operating with the space differently based on their intentions and audience, this thesis points out differences and similarities in how the city space and through it its inhabitant and their worries are formed. This diploma thesis is focused on a comprehensive analysis of the characters in the stories by Božena Němcová. The theoretical part is devoted to the theory of the formation of literary figures. In the practical part we follow the characters affected by mutual relations, environment and the society in which they live. We concentrate on the most important author's stories: Pomněnka šlechetné duše, Baruška, Chudí lidé, Sestry, Dobrý člověk, Divá Bára, Karla, Chyže pod horami, Cesta z pouti. In the stories Němcová offered a view of the Czech country people, patterns for her work Němcová acquired during her travels and from the telling of local residents. In her works, Němcová leaves her characters speak the local dialect, picturing local costumes, customs and culture. The characters are emotionally rich, elaborated, credible, partly idealized. In the work the author expressed several ideas which the society should follow.
Allusions of fantastic German literature of the romantic period in fantastic proses of Jakub Arbes and Julius Zeyer

- Aj In this work we focused on the literary genre of the fantastic short story, a genre that has its specific features, working with mystery and ambiguity, and relying on the interactive relationship between the reader and the text. We looked at terms fantastic literature, fantastic short story and we studied which attributes are typical for this literature (such as individual motifs, composition, atmosphere and language-specific resources). Than we were looking for the presence of these attributes in individual works of selected authors. The most important representatives of Czech fantastic stories were compared with selected German Romanticists who were the inception for our authors who followed them and in whose work we find the fantastic phenomena. Then we tracked the similarities and differences in work of these authors. We found, that despite substantial conformity in the use of specific attributes of fantastic stories, the individual works of our authors differs significantly, not only in the frequency of use of these attributes, but also in the overall tone of the work and its effect on the reader.
