Modern Markers of Organ Damage in Clinical Practice

Physical activity is a useful tool in the prevention of many diseases. Hospitalization after strenuous exercise from cardiac or noncardiac causes, even in young athletes without previous symptoms, can occur. These situations are not uncommon and e.g. after completing a half- marathon clinical symptoms suspicious from cardiac etiology can be present. Limitations of biomarkers used in daily clinical practice can lead to misinterpretation with additional consequences to the patient's outcome. Our goal was to describe changes of markers used in daily clinical practice after extreme physical activity and after exercise under laboratory conditions. We performed two studies in cooperation with Department of cardiology and Department of sports medicine. The goal of our first study was to examine high sensitivity troponin I (hsTnI), galectin-3, cystatin C, NGAL and ultrasensitive CRP (uCRP) after extremely long run during the competition in long distance running. Title: Aim of the work: Methods: Results: Keywords: National stadium and public attitude to its construction The goal of this work is to focus on project of construction ofNational football stadium, to analyze its advantages as well as disadvantages and to summary public opinion about execution of this project by using questionnaire method. Rok obhajoby: 2006 V práci jsem se zaměřil na analytický výzkum diváků fotbalu. Za cíl jsem si stanovil zjištění projevů, postojů a názorů diváků na čtyřech stadionech pražských fotbalových klubů. Šetření bylo provedeno pomocí dotazníku. Respondenti byli vybráni z různých sektorů fotbalových stadionů, abych postihl co nejširší a nejrůznorodější vzorek diváků. Dále jsem provedl několik rozhovorů s náhodně vybranými respondenty. Zvláštní kapitola byla věnována "televizním" fotbalovým divákům ve sportbarech. Prostřednictvím rozhovorů jsem se snažil zjistit, proč dávají přednost sledování fotbalových utkání v televizi před návštěvou utkání přímo na fotbalových stadionech. S ohledem na výsledky této práce je možné konstatovat, že diváci navštěvují fotbalová utkání nejčastěji z důvodu svého fandovství. Tolerance of Nile tilapia to nitrites

The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the effect of increased concentrations of nitrite to Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) at different concentrations of chloride. Tilapias adults were exposed for 14 days to nitrite at the concentration of 3 mg.l?1 NO2? (i.e. concentration commonly found in recirculation systems). After 14 days the experimental fishes were divided into 4 group, which differed in concentrations of nitrite and chloride. These groups of fish were held in different conditions for the next seven days. Using standard clinical procedures the following haematologic biochemical parameters were determined: RBC, WBC, Hb, PCV, MetHb, MCV, MCH, MCHC, NO2-, GLU, Ca, Mg, TP, NH3. The tested nitrite concentration was not high enough to cause strong differences of pursued parameters. Only some of them (Hb, MetHb, MCHC) were statistically significant.

Possibilities of use technical disinfection of water in fish farming

Disinfection of water in fish farming is becoming increasingly important. For these measures, there are different ways of water treatment. The aim was to evaluate selected water treatment facilities in terms of economic performance. This work compares UV sterilizers and ozonizers on the basis of their technical parameters and market prices.
