Nanostructures for solar cells: controlling the surface electronic properties by monolayers of carborane molecules
Hladík, Martin ; Fejfar, Antonín (advisor) ; Bartošík, Miroslav (referee) ; Londesborough, Michael G. S. (referee)
Doped layers of crystalline silicon are currently the main driver of con- ventional photovoltaic devices. Direct introduction of group III and V atoms into the silicon matrix is still the mainstream of mass production of doped silicon. In this thesis, we are interested in non-invasive ways of doping of silicon wafers through the adsorption of molecules with a large intrinsic dipole moment on the semiconductor surface. These molecules, namely carboranedithiols, create a self-assembled monolayer accompanied by the surface dipole formation. In order to stabilise the dipole layer, an interfacial charge transfer can occur between the adsorbate and the substrate, modifying the density of accumulated charge carriers just below the silicon surface. These are the fundamen- tal features of the surface transfer doping of the silicon substrate where we employ the carboranedithiol molecules as mediators of adsorbing dipole layer. Regarding the structure of the thesis, we first test the carboranedithiol molecules on gold, and then we move on to the issue of silicon-molecule junctions. We characterise the geometry and the electronic properties of the carboranedithiol molecules on both of these substrates by means of atomistic simulations based on a density functional theory.

Pokrok v inženýrství a technologiích vytvořil zájem o stabilní detektory magnetického pole schopné operovat v širokém rozsahu teplot.

Ku koncu, nano-zúženie s mikrometrovými rozmermi bolo vyrobené a študované pod rôznymi vlhkosťami, v rozmedzí 3% až 60%.
Fabrication of nanostructures on graphene using AFM mechanical lithography and observation of their electronic response
Belko, Peter ; Švarc, Vojtěch (referee) ; Bartošík, Miroslav (advisor)
Graphene is a suitable material for future sensors and biosensors due to its high sensitivity to the presence of adsorbents, low thermal noise, and biocompatibility. This work focuses on the lateral shaping of graphene on SiO2 using atomic force microscope-based mechanical lithography. The created barriers exhibit resistances on the order of hundreds of G and are applicable for nanosensor fabrication. Charge propagation is studied in this work through concurrent measurements of Kelvin probe force microscopy and macroscopic transport measurements at various humidities, corresponding to real conditions of atmospheric or solution-based sensors and biosensors.
Study of selective hydrogenation using KPFM
Zeman, Filip ; Konečný, Martin (referee) ; Bartošík, Miroslav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of selective hydrogenation of graphene and their analysis. The theoretical part deals with the properties of carbon materials and different hydrogenation methods. Furthermore, it thoroughly describes the raster probe microscopy AFM and KPFM. The last part of the theory discusses a suitable method to analyze hydrogenated graphene, namely Raman spectroscopy. The results that have already been observed in previous research are discussed. In the experimental part, three methods for producing hydrogenated graphene samples are described, which are measured using KPFM and Raman spectroscopy. Finally, their results are compared.

Graphene dopamine biosensor and gate effect
Krajíčková, Kateřina ; Šimšíková, Michaela (referee) ; Bartošík, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on investigating the interaction between biochemical substances (dopamine solutions) and graphene, using field effect transistor (FET) based sensors. Graphene possesses unique properties, including biocompatibility, high charge carrier mobility, and surface sensitivity, making it an ideal material for biosensing devices. In these sensors, graphene is employed as the conductive sensing channel within fieldeffect transistors. By utilizing sensors with an FET arrangement, the doping of graphene induced by adsorbed atoms or molecules can be experimentally determined through the observation of the shift in the position of the Dirac point. The measurements can be performed using either the bottom-gated or electrolytic top-gated configuration of the FET sensor, and the thesis explores the differences between the two setups. Furthermore, it investigates the impact of the distance between the graphene and top-gate electrode on the sensor’s response. The results of these measurements are represented by transfer curves, which exhibit characteristic peaks indicating the charge neutrality point, known as the Dirac point, of graphene.

Detection of DNA/RNA fragments using graphene sensor and influence of upper electrolytic gate
