The Czech Community of Sokol and Its Relationship to Religion in the Period of Interwar Czechoslovakia
Bartl, Tomáš ; Šmíd, Marek (advisor) ; Šebek, Jaroslav (referee)
The Czech Community of Sokol and Its Relationship to Religion in the Period of Interwar Czechoslovakia Abstract This thesis deals with the relationship of the Sokol and religion and at the same time with the relationship to religious organizations predominantly during the First Republic, using period materials from archives and various records of prints that have been preserved to the present day. In the thesis we will be able to see the development of the Sokol from its earliest beginnings, through its involvement in historical events, especially its relationship to religion and to religious organizations that existed at the time of the First Republic. The thesis also deals with the changes in the passing time against the background of historical events and the thought development of the Sokol in the religious environment first in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and then in the time of the First Czechoslovak Republic until 1938. Logistical aspects of sharing economy
BÁRTL, Tomáš
This work explores the potential of sharing economy from the view of logistics operations. The paper adopts qualitative methods to compare individual approach and approach which uses the sharing economy model in logistics operations. The obtained data are based on articles, direct observation and time photography. After analysis of the obtained data, the work focuses on the description of positive and negative aspects of the individual and sharing approach. It suggests that logistics is an integral part of the huge development of the sharing economy. The Obtained data and knowledge serve to design its own solution the sharing economy. The solution is presented as a project Lendito which is using a sharing approach in logistics operations for sharing goods and services.
Blogs and their role in media
Bartl, Tomáš ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Křeček, Jan (referee)
PhDr. thesis is focused on the role of blogs compared to the other media in the mediation process of a news topic and an expert topic. The theoretical part depicts the development of blogs and distinct definitions of this term. Blogs are subsequently analyzed through the scope of democratic media and democratization of the public sphere. Principles of produsage are used to discuss the role of blogging compared to the other media types. After that more technological view of the blogging follows - that of new media. The main principles of these media are used to discuss distinctive characteristics of blogs. Finally, this part offers summary of the former studies concerned with blogging. On the basis of the theoretical part research questions and hypotheses are constructed. The practical part is concerned with carrying out the content analysis of the articles connected to two different topics. As the news topic the topic of placing the US radar on the Czech Republic territory was chosen. This topic was covered between years 2006 and 2008. Introduction of the new micropayment service PaySec was chosen as the expert topic. Individual findings are interpreted with the help of statistical methods. Conclusion discusses generalized findings and theoretical implication of the study.
Study of membrane transport processes in yeast using potentiometric fluorescent porbe diS-C3(3)
Bartl, Tomáš ; Gášková, Dana (advisor) ; Krůšek, Jan (referee)
1 Title: Study of membrane transport processes in yeast using potentiometric fluorescent probe diS-C3(3) Author: Tomáš Bartl Department: Institute of Physics of Charles University Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Dana Gášková, CSc., Institute of Physics of Charles University Abstract: Yeast membranes contain a number of transporters. Some are responsible for flow of nutrients to the inside of the cell, others for disposing of waste and foreign substances and some for transport of small ions or protons across the membrane. The focus of this work is on the activity of specific transport membrane proteins, so-called MDR pumps, which are responsible for transport of foreign substances or drugs, out of the cell. Using the series of mutant strains of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae (AD1-3, AD1-8 and AD12) differentiated in the presence of specific MDR pumps in their membrane, an influence of various chemical substances on the intracellular concentration of the potentiometric fluorescent probe diS-C3(3), which is actively being transported out of the cell by some of the MDR pumps, was observed. By the examination of the effect of 2-deoxyglucose we proved the active contribution of not only the main MDR pump, Pdr5p, but also of some other pumps, in lowering the intracellular probe concentration. It was observed that...
Analysis of the arrangement of the binding pocket of the MDR pump Cdr1p of the pathogenic yeast Candida albicans - a major contributor to clinical drug resistance.

Title: Analysis of the arrangement of the binding pocket of the MDR pump Cdr1p of the pathogenic yeast Candida albicans - a major contributor to clinical drug resistance. Author: Tomáš Bartl Department: Institute of Physics of Charles University Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Dana Gášková, CSc., Institute of Physics of Charles University Abstract: Candida infections are becoming an increasing cause of death in hospitalized patients. The main reason for drug resistance in the most common yeast pathogen Candida albicans is an increased production of transport proteins, which are removing the drug from the cell cytosol and thus producing the phenomenon called multidrug resistance - MDR. The goal of this thesis was to verify the suitability of the yeast strain Saccharomyces cerevisiae with heterologously expressed MDR pumps from the pathogenic yeast Candida albicans and comparison to the results from C. albicans with homologous expression. The results that the azole drugs miconazole, bifonazole, and ketoconazole, together with potentiometric fluorescent probe diS-C3(3), are substrates of the CaCdr1p and CaCdr2p pumps, but not, or minimally, of the pump CaMdr1p, are consistent with the previously published work. The binding pocket of CaCdr1p was explored using the disc diffusion assay and the diS-C3(3) fluorescent probe...
Different approach to mediation in the blogosphere and the mass media
Bartl, Tomáš ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Křeček, Jan (referee)
Diploma thesis "Different approach to mediation in the blogosphere and the mass media" deals with the means blogs and mass media use to mediate news topics and expert topics to their audiences. In addition this study deals with the relationship between blogosphere and mass media. In the theoretical part this study brings depiction of the development of blogs through the scope of democratic media and democratization of the public sphere. Theoretical part furthermore discusses different approaches to the blog definitions and its basic characteristics. On the basis of this discussion it divides blogs into different types. Finally, this part offers summary of the former studies concerned with blogging. This part creates the base for the construction of research questions and hypotheses. The practical part is concerned with carrying out the content analysis of the articles connected to two different topics. As news topic was chosen the topic of placing the US radar on the Czech Republic territory. This topic was covered between years 2006 and 2008. As expert topic was chosen the introduction of the new micropayment service Paysec. Individual findings are interpreted with the help of statistical methods.
