Low Temperature Fuel Cells H2-O2 with Anionic and Bipolar Membrane
Barath, Peter ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
The doctoral thesis deals with investigation of the catalysts and ionexchanege membranes for fuel cells H2-O2. The work contains the basic principles of chemical reactions, thermodynamic aspects and kinetic properties in PEM fuel cells.Ion-exchagers based on fluorinated polymer sulfonic acids known as NAFION are used in most cases. These compounds are very expensive. Also a strong corrosive attribute requires platinum as a catalysator. These facts make the membrane fuel cells fully non-competetive with e.g. internal combustion engine in spite of all ecological advantages of this electrical power source. The subject of doctoral thesis is research and development of compounds for the composite electrode materials base on NiOx, Ni-Pd and Raney Ni suitable as catalysts a nd alkaline or bipolar ionexchange membranes for electrochemical fuel cells.
Resistivity measuring workplace for composite materials
Kucharčík, Jan ; Barath, Peter (referee) ; Vognar, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on exploring the characteristics of carbon allotropes. On constructed workspace resistivity of bulk samples will be measured according to the pressure. In conclusion, results of the measurement and proposals to improve the accuracy of the measuring methods are described.
Low temperature Fuel Cells
Kazda, Tomáš ; Novák, Vítězslav (referee) ; Barath, Peter (advisor)
The Bachelor’s thesis is aimed at the low-temperature fuel cells and their usage in cars and mobile applications. In the theory part of this project is described the evolution of the fuel cells in last years and historically as well. Further there are described their functions and particular kinds of the fuel cells with aim at low-temperature cells. In the practical part of this thesis we were making different kinds of carbon mixtures. We have been doing measurements of mixtures on rotate disk electrode and in the experimental fuel cell. At the end of the work are experimentally evaluated different types of carbon materials with different contents of platinum depositing. The results are evaluated using electro analytical methods, using this evaluation to optimize the composition of the material used as electrode material in fuel cells.
Carbon materials for power sources
Tichý, Jiří ; Novák, Vítězslav (referee) ; Barath, Peter (advisor)
This work deals with carbon materials and using them in alternative energy sources. Object of this work was prepared electrodes with carbon materials and investigate their electrical properties. The practical part objects of the carbon materials, their properties and application in fuel cells and Ni-Cd batteries. Analysis describes the electrochemical processes in electrode materials with carbon as conductive element.
Ionexchange membranes for fuel cells
Chladil, Ladislav ; Špičák, Petr (referee) ; Barath, Peter (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis engages in the analysis of ionexchange polymer electrolytes for low-temperature fuel cell’s H2-O2 application. Object of this work was made a several version of function ionexchange membranes with electrode material by MEA technique. The theoretical part is deal of problems of the fuel cell and their application. Experimental part describes the process of preparation of electrode materials, which were doped by platinum catalyst in variable subsidy. Electrode substances were deposited on various ionexchange membranes. This function elements were measured in experimental fuel cell Quintech and measured results was evaluated.
Low temperature fuel cells
Skibik, Petr ; Barath, Peter (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
This work deals with making of catalyst materials with used nickel and commercial carbons that is appropriate for using in low temperature H2-O2 fuel cell. This thesis is described the methods of preparation electrode materials, its consistence and making electrode for the measure. This thesis is compared catalyst activity of nickel materials with platinum materials and poor commercial carbons. The samples were measured by voltammetric method by potentiostat Autolab with used the software GPES and the software FRA for impedance spectroscopy.
Development of propulsion for ultralight plane with fuel cells stacks
Smetana, Martin ; Sedlaříková, Marie (referee) ; Barath, Peter (advisor)
This work deals with development of propulsion for ultralight plane with using fuel cells technology. This thesis is described different types of fuel cells, fuels, electric motors and other component parts needed to build a functioning drive as a whole. The thesis also described situation in the market of fuel cell technology, production facilities and hydrogen tanks. Work includes part of the design drawings of the proposed solutions of thesis.
