Web-Based Demonstration of Linear Filtering
Novotný, Ondřej ; Bařina, David (referee) ; Černocký, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create a demonstration application of discrete linear filtering. The introductory section summarizes the theory of digital filtering and filter design. The following chapter describes the existing applets. Subsequently, the concept of the demonstration and its implementation are described. The final part contains tutorial examples of using the demonstration and summary of users' reactions.
XMPP Client Using Nokia Qt SDK
Vaňák, Tomáš ; Mlích, Jozef (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis describes the creation of application in a development environment Qt Nokia SDK. It emphasizes the differences between development of desktop applications and describes the steps necessary to create a functional mobile applications.  This thesis also describes the basics of XMPP protocol.  The resulting application is simple XMPP client.
Comparison of Video Codecs
Urbánek, Pavel ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis is aimed at analysis of video codecs and their comparison. First part of this document provides reader with the basic information on encoding and decoding process including high level description of often used algorithms. It describes codecs and the process of standardization. Second part is focused on test specifications and codecs comparsion itself including conclusion. PSNR, SSim and BD-PSNR are key methods used for comparing codecs.
Prediction of Values on a Time Line
Maršová, Eliška ; Bařina, David (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
This work deals with the prediction of numerical series whose application is suitable for prediction of stock prices. They explain the procedures for analysis and works with price charts. Also explains the methods of machine learning. Knowledge is used to build a program that finds patterns in numerical series for estimation.
Implementation of Statistical Compression Methods
Štys, Jiří ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis describes Burrow-Wheeler compression algorithm. It focuses on each part of Burrow-Wheeler algorithm, most of all on and entropic coders. In section are described methods like move to front, inverse frequences, interval coding, etc. Among the described entropy coders are Huffman, arithmetic and Rice-Golomg coders. In conclusion there is testing of described methods of global structure transformation and entropic coders. Best combinations are compared with the most common compress algorithm.
Error Resilience Analysis for JPEG 2000
Kovalčík, Marek ; Klíma, Ondřej (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze modern image compression format of JPEG 2000. It analyzes the effect of error resilience mechanisms on image compression with different settings. The impact of using tag embedding to help repair damaged images or using compression modes to improve error resilience is examined here. Quality is evaluated by the PSNR metric that detects the similarity of compressed and reference file. Adding certain tags to the data stream or using certain compression modes should help secure the JPEG 2000 file against image reconstruction damage. To test this hipothesis, there was created a model that acidentally damage the compressed file and evaluate decompressed images. The Kakadu library, which provides efficient work with the JPEG 2000 format, is used for the work. The experimental data set consists of various photographs in uncompressed PPM format in smaller but also in higher resolutions. The result of this work is to find out which compression settings to use for which group of images to make the compression efficient and secure the best. The end of this thesis is devoted to comparison of error resilience of JPEG 2000 and CCSDS 122.0.
Comparison of Image Processing Libraries
Krúpová, Lenka ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with comparison of image processing libraries. This document describes brief introduction into the field of image procesing. There are wide analysis of OpenCV, GD, GIL, ImageMagick, GraphicsMagick, CImg, Imlib2 libraries. The text  aims at C and C++ language interfaces of these libraries. The end of the thesis is dedicated to comparison of libaries from various points.
Dictionary Methods of Data Compression
Černičko, Sergij ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse dictionary methods of data compression and their characteristics. The work is focused on and hands out detail overview of dictionary methods LZ77, LZ78, LZSS, LZW, DEFLATE and LZX. Principles of these methods and also general theory of compression is described. In conclusion all methods are tested and results analyzed.
Image Compression Using the Wavelet Transform
Kaše, David ; Klíma, Ondřej (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with image compression using wavelet, contourlet and shearlet transformation. It starts with quick look at image compression problem a quality measurement. Next are presented basic concepts of wavelets, multiresolution analysis and scaling function and detailed look at each transform. Representatives of algorithms for coeficients coding are EZW, SPIHT and marginally EBCOT. In second part is described design and implementation of constructed library. Last part compare result of transforms with format JPEG 2000. Comparison resulted in determining type of image in which implemented contourlet and shearlet transform were more effective than wavelet. Format JPEG 2000 was not exceeded.
GUI to FFmpeg for Building a Filter Graph
Sičkaruk, Roman ; Klíma, Ondřej (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis describes creation of graphical user interface for FFmpeg filter graph conceiving tool. It includes introduction to problematics, design of an application look, structure, its implementation and comparison with similiar existing tools for another frameworks. Final tool allows user to create and edit video filter graphs, edit parameters of each filter and preview edited video.
