Determination of perfluorinated compounds using separation methods

The theoretical part of this diploma thesis consists of current matters regarding the presence of perfluorinated organic compounds in living environment elements. The attention has been focused on perfluoroktanoic acid (PFOA), (PFOS), and (FOSA). Physical-chemical characteristics of these organic pollutants and their toxicological and environmental aspects have been described. Possible ways of the pollutants analytical determination have been specified. The experimental part has explored effects of extraction techniques (sonication, pressurized solvent extraction, solid-phase extraction) used for PFAS separation from seats of fire soil sample. Identification of the analytes have been achieved by liquid chromatography/mass spektrometry.

The flange gasket modification of SG VVER 440 primary collector

The aim of this thesis is to address issues concerning the sealing of the lid for the primary collector within the steam generator (SG) of the nuclear power plant VVER 440. These steam generators are sealed in the original design by nickel rings. Modifying the existing method of sealing by a new type of sealing material, primarily from expanded graphite, can significantly reduce the pressure in the sealing surface and also stress in bolts and flanged joints. The new solution of sealing between the joint of collector and the lid should extend the life of joints and thus the nuclear and technical safety. The text is divided into the theoretical and computational part. A principle of the SG, the SG design, and a description of the joint and lid are mentioned in the theoretical part. The computational part shows calculations of the new joint, the original one, and comparison of both solutions in terms of technical and nuclear safety. The work contains drawing of the new joint.

Review of world nuclear reactors

This bachelor work is focused on creating an overview of nuclear reactor types, their categorization and engineering approach to particular designs. Furthermore, it also lists countries having nuclear reactors in possession and their standpoint towards nuclear energy in general. A brief summary of the third and fourth generation and their future energy potential is included as well. This work primarily reflects present-day status.

Problems of determination of non-traditional organochloric compounds in environmental compartments

The baccalaureate theoretical thesis resolved the current issue of the presence of xenobiotics based on organohalogenated compounds in environmental elements. The focus was on congeners of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), polychlorinated diphenilyethers (PBDE), and polychlorinated dibenzodioxines and dibenzofuranes (PCDD/DF). The physical and chemical characteristics of these organically pollutants were described, as well as its toxicological and environmental aspects. The possibilities of its analytical determination were also described. The complete analytical procedure was described for indicator congeners PCB.

The needs satisfaction of children hospitalized in psychiatric hospital.

This thesis deals with the issue of meeting the needs of pediatric patients who have experienced hospitalization in one of the medical institutions providing pediatric psychiatric care. Development in childhood and adolescence is considered to be very complex, not only because of developmental changes. We can witness for ourselves the impact on our mental health of not having some of the basic or higher needs of life met. In the childhood period, the limitation of saturation of some of the needs is even more accentuated, and we therefore encounter situations where this lack of saturation can lead to the development of mental illness. These are then forced to be dealt with by hospitalisation in one of the psychiatric hospitals in the Czech Republic. These hospitalisations are often repeated, and the child patient spends a large part of its time in the facility. It is therefore important that during the hospitalization, he or she is supported by a medical team, of which nurses are an essential part, who will actively try to identify his or her needs and help him or her to meet them, and who will be empathetic and assertive throughout the time present. The aim of this study was to describe the satisfaction of bio-psycho-social needs of hospitalized pediatric patients, from the perspective of nursing staff, and from the perspective of pediatric patients themselves. This issue should continue to be addressed in order to prevent negative experiences with hospitalizations and thus to form a negative image towards health care. This thesis is divided into two parts. The first part, theoretical, deals with the history of psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry, the training of psychiatric nurses, mental illness in childhood, the division of childhood, the life needs of the child and the nursing process of the child with psychiatric illness. The second part, the practical part, consists of the results obtained from semi-structured interviews that were recorded with an electric tape recorder and then transcribed and categorized. Consequently, 5 categories emerged: the Physiological Needs, the Need for Safety and Security, the Need for Love and Belonging, the Need for Recognition and Self-esteem and the category Need for Self-Realization. Each of these categories was then divided into several subcategories, according to the informants' responses, and translated into tables and charts. Five paediatric patients and 3 nurses working in one of the child and adolescent psychiatry departments participated in the research survey. The results of our investigation showed that there are frequent disagreements and differing opinions in the claims of the two research groups. This suggests that this issue should continue to be addressed. This would prevent negative experiences of hospital admissions, reduce traumatic experiences, and thereby mitigate the formation of a negative image towards healthcare and establish healthier patient-person relationships.

Employment Relationship in Terms of Wage Costs Optimalization

The Bachelor thesis focuses on the legal, tax, and economic aspects of employment relationships, with the aim of presenting proposals to the employer for optimizing wage costs. The main problem for the employer is a shortage of employees with a certain type of job. The thesis consists of three parts, in the first part, a theoretical analysis of employment relationships is conducted in accordance with the Labor Code, and tax, economic, and accounting aspects are presented. The second part focuses on a detailed analysis of a selected employer based on information obtained from the company. The last part contains proposals for solving the problem and an economic evaluation of solution alternatives. The bachelor thesis successfully meets all the set objectives and proposes solutions for the employer.

Evaluation of health and social services and their economy in the Slatinné lázně Třeboň s.r.o. after the Merger

The aim of the diploma thesis is an evaluation of restructuring of two spa companies, concretely a fusion of Aurora Spa s.r.o. and Berta Spa Trebon, s.r.o. into a single company Spa Trebon, s.r.o., from the point of view of an evaluation both of provided health and social services and economy, organising and management. Simultaneously, the aim was to introduce the clients´ opinions on the presented issue, that is the opinions on implemented changes. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part is focused on an introduction into the issue, characteristics of Trebon area, position of the spa rehabilitative care in the framework of provided health services system, the fusion and aims theory in the project of restructuring the fused spa companies itself. The processing is based on secondary data. The practical part of the diploma thesis is based on the data from Spa Trebon, s.r.o. The fusion itself was implemented 1.1.2017. Therefore the analysis used the data before the fusion, that is 2015-2016, as well as after the fusion, that is 2017, 2018, and partially 2019. These are concrete statistic data focused on an observance of the spa performances, clients amount, their structure according to the used services or an average length of the clients´ stay. Furthermore, economic data describing the company performances were used, which are available from free sources - AskNow system and the spa information system Open Spa. For the fusion evaluation also a quantitative and qualitative research was used, focused on obtaining an insight into a social reality through a questionnaire construction. The obtained data were recorded by a descriptive statistics (tables, charts). The results and conclusions reveal that the fusion was useful for example from the point of view of the growth of the clients amount. Likewise the clients, in the framework of their repeated therapeutic stays, they evaluated the implemented fusion positively. However the key conclusion lies in results of economy itself which proved the rightfulness of the implemented fusion in the field of economy. The results of the thesis might be useful for planning the further strategic development of the spa company.

Protection of a supplier against conduct of the contracting agency in public tenders The aim of this thesis is to analyze the legal instruments by which suppliers can defend against unlawful practises of contracting entity. The reason of choosing this theme is my deep interest in this sphere. Ever year, more than eight thousand tenders are announced in the Czech Republic. There are more than fifteen thousand contracting authorities. The public sector expends more than 600 billion Czech crowns on public procurement every year. The acting of subjects involved in the procurement proces is often unlawful. It is therefore necessary to set the legal framework of competition for public contracts so that it will be ensured prevention the unlawful procedures of subjects affecting the procurement process and ensure the most efficient spending of public funds. This thesis consists of four chapters. The first concerns the most important principles associated with public procurement. There are also examples of practical reflection of these principles to various statutory provisions. The second chapter is devoted to the juridical institut of objections to acts of the contracting authorities.
