Skálová, Alena ; MACHKOVÁ, Eva (advisor) ; BERGMAN, Aleš (referee)
Community theatre, site-specific theatre, and their plausible contribution to drama in education and children's or youth theatre are in the main focus of the thesis. It summarizes the roots and background of both of these fringe theatre paths, introduces their main objectives and representatives. A more detailed description of several community theatre groups and site-specific projects is also included. Apart from the theoretical introduction, the paper follows the individual principles and complex ideas within these two alternative theatre approaches from a practical perspective; it includes a structured project plan based on connection and mutual inspiration of community theatre, sitespecific and drama in education principles. The thesis also aims at capturing wider potential of fusion of these attitudes to theatre and the society, and suggests its contribution not only in the field of drama in education, but also within contemporary performing arts and community life in general.

The Art of Living Word
Harčaríková, Marica ; MARUŠÁK, Radek (advisor) ; BERGMAN, Aleš (referee)
In the first part of my thesis which consists of two parts - theoretical and empirical - I concentrate upon the ways of "word reviving" through human voice, speech and their artistic ways of expression, namely declamation, recitation, artistic recitation - where beside structuring of recitation I focus on collective recitation. Interpretation is a part of meaningful work with the word. I deal with its meaning from the point-of-view of its relationship with literary work. I deal with the concept of poetry and theatre, for closer specification of theatre form of poetry theatre and for fuller understanding of its content. I focus on the issue of poetry theatre, as an independent theatre form which has developed in the Central European region, especially in the non-professional theatre, in certain theoretical anchorages and historical connections. I mention a nationwide competition of artistic word and poetry theatres - Hviezdoslavov Kubin - especially with the children poetry theatre, within the category of children reciting groups. And last but not least, in the second part of my thesis I concentrate on the creative process with a children group, on the possibility of working with lyrical text.

An Introduction to Performing Activities with Youth
Malá, Zuzana ; Císař, Jan (advisor) ; Bergman, Aleš (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to make an introduction to performing activities of ensembles in which youth (in age of cca 13-21) are involved and which are led by adult teachers/directors. I am trying to find out their specifics, put them in context of related fields, such as theatre education, amateur theatre, experiential education etc. I?m focusing on the role of the teacher, which combines educative, artistic, organizing and other tasks. In a chapter on dramaturgy I?m examining the choice of proper theme and following processes with it. There are 4 dramaturgical standards being laid out, as well as some notes on theatre activism and the relationship between dramatic theatre and a spontaneous performance. I am trying to denominate the teenagers´ motivation to the theatre work and also some examples of benefits, that performing activities can bring them. Beside the literature there are two sources of information used in the thesis: interviews with drama teachers and interviews with youth actors. As an example of practice of youth ensemble I am offering OLDstars ensemble, where I recently work.
