The taxation of financial sector

The diploma thesis deals with the taxation of financial institutions focused on European Union. The thesis provides a short view on the inception of financial crisis in USA and the costs spent by national governments on rescue of systemic important institutions on the market. The history of banking tax concept is briefly summarized on theoretical level and also two real historical examples of taxation in financial sector are provided. The main part of the work is focused on the current proposal of European Commission and the impact of its implementation. The practical part of diploma thesis is based on particular model examples how this proposal would work in practice.

Old age security in the context of the pension reform

The diploma thesis deals with the pension system of the Czech Republic in the context of the pension reform. It responds to the issues of unfavorable demographic developments. The starting point of the thesis is theoretical description of the classification of the pension systems. The attention paids to the characteristics of the pension system in the Czech Republic. The main part of the thesis analyzes individual pillars and highlights the changes caused by the pension reform. The practical part of the thesis focuses on the evaluation of the profitability of the funds of the third pillar, the calculation of the pensions from the first pillar pensions arising from comparing each of the three pillars of the pension reforms and proposals of the pension reforms. The aim is to analyze certain issues and evaluate how the pension reform was successful.

Current trends in the insurance markets

This dissertation deals with current trends in insurance. The aim of this thesis is to find the development trends, which have affected the insurace market the most in the last years. The first chapter is focused on the implementation of regulatory projects in insurace main Solvency II. The second part of disertation familiarizes the trends in the products of life and non-life insurace. At the end of this dissertation, there is the prognosis of the future development in insurance.

The Economy of facultative reinsurance from the point of view of a reinsurance company

The main topic of my master thesis is the economy of facultative reinsurance from the point of view of a reinsurance company. First, the thesis briefly deals with the general structure of reinsurance and then is focused only on the facultative part. The thesis puts emphasis on the specific characteristics of facultative reinsurance and the creation of reinsurance slip and then uses this knowledge in a case study. The case study shows the risk from the insurance company and reinsurance company side and its aim is to create proper reinsurance structure for a power plant in Bulgaria. The thesis finishes with a chapter about the development of several reinsurance companies in the market.

The Religious Sisters' charitable and social service after 1948

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the destiny of female orders and congregations, whose traditional work in educational and medical institutions was forbidden by Action Ř in 1950. Communist regime tried to force nuns to take off their habits and work in civil occupations, by means of hard work in factories and on farms. Female orders, whose main role was to educate children and youth, and contemplative orders had to find new areas for their activities. Despite the difficult situation, nuns tried to carry out social and charitable work in such areas, where communist regime allowed them to do so. Many of such affected female orders and congregations found their fulfilment as care workers in health service, social and charitatible area, particularly by taking care of the sick, the old and mentally and physically disabled people. The theoretical part focuses on a description of the relation between church and state after 1948, the status of nuns after the communist takeover in February 1948 and district church secretary's and region church secretary's tasks in relation to nuns. The thesis describes communist work camps for nuns in more detail, there were strict rules and routine and very poor conditions, far from dignified way of life. The summary shows individual communist work camps with factories and workshops, where nuns had to work. The reseach part of the bachelor's thesis describes nuns' social and charitable work after 1948 and their motivation that helped them overcome difficulties, resulting from communist regime. I used the method of qualitative research and oral history method. I have made four profiles of nuns, on the basis of their life stories. These profiles monitor their lives with respect to the topics from the theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis and everything is supported with suitable quotations. I try to monitor both common and different experience of individual nuns and consider how questions of great history reflected on their life stories. The conclusion of the bachelor's thesis cosiders nuns' motivation for their devoted service to their neighbours, their attitudes, opinions and experience.

Analysis of the Czech insurance market and its future forecast

The main goal of my disertation work was to analyze the development of the Czech insurance market from 2000 until 2011 and create a forecast until the year 2015 at this market. In the first part of my work I will focus on demarcation of the commercial insurance, I will mention few interesting information about history of the Czech insurance market and its regulation. We will also describe important indicators of the insurance market. In the second section of my work we will analyze the branch of the life and non-life insurance in the Czech Republic from 2000 to 2011. In the third part we will create the concrete forecast of the Czech insurance market until the year 2015 using analysis of time series of written premium and GDP.

Insurance companies and their funding of marketing activities in the field of sport in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the marketing activities of insurance companies in the field of sport and success of those activities. The aim is also finding of public awareness of those activities and their financial analysis. The first part is dedicated to the theory of Sports Marketing, second part of thesis is about specific marketing activities in sports of the three insurance companies, Česká pojišťovna insurance company, ČSOB Pojišťovna insurance company and Kooperativa insurance company. This part deals with the reasons of supporting the field of sport, its use, success and future. The third part is a research of public awareness of sports marketing of Czech insurance companies. The last part contains a financial analysis.

Immigrant's position on the Czech labour market and their influence on the structural unemployment

The subject of this thesis is assertion process of foreigners on the Czech labour market. Foreigners from the East are attracted to come to the Czech Republic because of its mature market and specially targeted labour programmes enabling easier entrance to the Czech labour market. The reason is a benefit in form of young, economically active people improving the demographic shape of the Czech society. The thesis is analysing specific factors and barriers that immigrants have to deal with on the labour market and the direct effects of immigration for the host country. The thesis firstly focuses on the analysis of legislative and institutional environment. Then it concentrates on factors determining the decision to migrate. Finally it analyses the impacts of labour migration on the economics and demographics situation in the country of destination. Furthermore there was made a characterization of all regional, professional, age and educational structure of the foreign labour to evaluate the influence of immigrants on the destination labour market. One of the main questions of the quantitative research is whether the foreign workers can have a positive influence on the structural unemployment in the Czech Republic.

Kooperativa pojišťovna, a.s., Vienna Insurance Group is the second largest insurance company in conditions of the Czech insurance market. Kooperativa is an universal insurance company, which offers insurance products and services to individuals and companies. The main aim of the diploma thesis is to define a position of Kooperativa commercial insurance company in the Czech insurance market. In order to reach the object of the thesis is necessary to respect for insurance's characteristics, specifics and main competitors. The first part of the thesis is focused on basic information about company and insurance products. The second part is dedicated to company's economy, which includes analysis of premium written, financial statement and ratios of financial analysis.

Protected designation of origin and protected geographical indication labelled foodstuffs made in southwest regions of France.

This bachelor thesis analyses the issue of Foods with Protected Designation of Origin or Protected Geographical Indication. It focuses on the south-western region of France. The thesis consists of two parts. At first it introduces the history and reasons for instituting the system of food labelling and the current legislation. It also presents the specific types of classifications and describes the process of assigning designations according to appropriate phases. The second part studies the south-western region of France and foods genuinely originating in that region. The writer presents a list of foods with PDI or PDO classifications in particular regions. The bachelor thesis involves the summary in French and the Czech-French glossary.
