Some aspects of the everyday life in DPRK

This bachelor's thesis tries to document everyday life of a young man, fostering and education of him in DPRK with a focus on the capital city. The key source of information is a record of a story of an emigrant about his childhood, school, family and growing-up in the capital city of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea - Pyongyang. His personal experience, observations and knowledge confronted with other sources and literature have expressive value in comprehending the real life of citizens in DPRK deprived of their basic human rights by the communist regime. Corporate reporting on platform MS SQL Server

The thesis dicusses the business reporting using the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 platform. The first part examine the technical aspects of the problem and studies the Integration Services, Reporting Services and Analysis Services applications as well as the possibilities of their integration with other business information systems. The second part analyses the possibilities of using the Microsoft's Business Intelligence by a business establishement and its gainings. It also presents several practical examples of application.

Usage of Informatica tools in a datawarehouse and optimalization of ETL processes

The graduation thesis is engaged in the problems of ETL development in terms of Business Intelligence solution. It analyses the wider portfolio of aplications supporting ETL development and offers the survey of its basic characteristics. There is a detail analysis of the pair of chosen instruments which utility is shown on the development of the real transformations. Then the advantages and possible risks of the transition on the higher edition of the product PowerCenter from Informatica company are being analysed too. The constituent of the thesis is engaged in optimalization procedure which is put into real operation of data warehouse and shows its benefit in term of computer time reduction The aim of the thesis is to show the detail look into the ETL instruments, formation of ETL transformations and not least the ways of optimalization of ETL transformations. The graduation thesis proposes to solve the problems in selection of convenient ETL instrument not only from the view of ETL developer in the shape of detailed comparison of the pair instrument usage but also from the view of management in the shape of general survey, basic characteristics and the comparison of wider porfolio of ETL instruments. In terms of detailed analysis the set Informatica PowerCenter should give us answers for the questions like: "What advantages does the upgrade of Informatica PowerCenter range 7 to range 8 bring?" or "What problems may that upgrade cause and how can we solve those problems? The part devoted to optimalization proposes to offer the outlook to the basic optimalization procedures inside the data warehouse and comparison of its contribution. In parallel with analytic part there is also proceeding the formation of practical part of the graduation thesis which consists in development of really used ETL transformations and in optimalization of selected ETL transformations of data warehouse. First the graduation thesis is concentrated on the analytic activity consisting in the products research which are on the top of ETL development. Then it is gathering the detailed knowledge of two instruments which is aplicated for the formation of ETL transformations The second analytic phase is concentrated on the optimalization procedures. The knowledge acquired in that phase is subsequently used in practice and the final analysis of those procedures and benefits is proceeding. The graduation thesis does not also miss out to partly outline the future development in the field of ETL.The main contribution consists in giving not only the comprehensive survey of ETL instruments but also in the detailed analysis of pros and cons of the pair of selected products. The thesis offered the answers to the questions asked in the outset connected with the transition to upper version of Power Center. The analysis of optimalization procedure enabled the optimalization of 29 ETL transformations and their high effectivity was proved too.

Obsah a struktura webových dokumentů a jejich přístupnost

Předkládáná práce Karla Adámka Obsah a struktura webových dokumentů a jejich přístupnost se zabývá dynamicky se rozvíjejícím, avšak doposud poněkud opomíjeným tématem uživatelské přístupnosti jednotlivých produktů webového designérství. Autor nejdříve v úvodu své studie podává definici jednotlivých pojmů týkajících se přístupnosti webových stránek, poté vymezuje okruh handicapovaných uživatelů Internetu a v modelových situacích se zabývá jejich možnými konkrétními problémy při kontaktu s výše uváděnými aplikacemi. Poté přistupuje k popisu a analýze kompenzačních pomůcek užívaných zdravotně postiženými pří práci s informačními technologiemi a obtížemi, jež z tohoto stavu věcí vyplývají. Dále nás seznamuje s analýzou pravidel webové přístupnosti a na základě mezinárodního srovnání i s konkrétními pokusy o jejich aplikování v různých evropských a světových zemích. Jako příklad jsou uváděny a analyzovány legislativní úpravy v USA, Německu, Austrálii, České republice a dalších státech. Tato analýza se mu poté stává východiskem pro srovnání jednotlivých institucí a organizací, jež se webovou přístupností různorodě zabývají. Výsledky této komparace, včetně objevených nedostatků, pak autorovi slouží jako podklad k formulování zásad algoritmu tvorby ideálně přístupného webu. Autor nás postupně seznamuje se základními kritérii, pojmy a principy, jichž by se měl držet každý, kdo usiluje o maximální přístupnost svého webu. Postupně jsou probírány podmínky a kvality, jako je ovládání, navigace, grafická podoba, obsah webového dokumentu, uživatelské prostředí, zdrojový kód stránky atd., které se podstatnou měrou podílejí na zajištění ideální přístupnosti webu. Tato analýza je završena tezí o důležitosti dosud podceňované implementace přístupnosti k webu v různých organizacích a nárysem její základní organizační struktury a uplatnění v každé firemní kultuře a struktuře. Její součástí jsou i testovací nástroje a metodiky, které autor uplatnil při rozboru vybraných webových stránek ministerstev České republiky s využitím softwarových produktů, jako jsou aplikace Bobby, Cynthia Says, WAWE 3.0 a AccessColor. V neposlední řadě pak rozbor úrovně přístupnosti těchto konkrétních webových domén, ale i výše uváděných testovacích programů autora přivedl na myšlenku vytvoření vlastního testovacího nástroje, jenž by ztělesňoval dosavadní výsledky jeho zkoumání a respektoval závěry, které z nich vyplynuly, a který je také nedílnou součástí této práce na přiloženém CD.
