Determination of selected heavy metals in samples of great tits feathers by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry
Adamová, Simona ; Hraníček, Jakub (advisor) ; Kozlík, Petr (referee)
EN As a result of human activity, a number of polluting substances are released into the environment. Heavy metals are one of the types of these contaminants. Their accumulation in the environment can have a negative impact on living organisms, including humans. For this reason, environment quality monitoring has become an important activity. Great tit (Parus major) can be a suitable bioindicator of the level of environmental contamination by heavy metals, which is acceptable mainly due to its abundance and occurrence in the vicinity of human settlements. This diploma thesis deals with the determination of six selected heavy metals in feather samples of these songbirds from several parts of the Czech Republic and other European countries. High pressure microwave mineralization in the presence of acids was used to prepare the samples. Selected heavy metals were determined using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) technique, which is also suitable for ultratrace analysis due its very low limits of detection.
Determination of cadmium and copper in bood of great tits
Adamová, Simona ; Hraníček, Jakub (advisor) ; Červený, Václav (referee)
EN Monitoring of the environment is one of the most important activities nowadays. This monitoring includes, for example, monitoring the concentration levels of heavy metals in organisms with a defined relationship to the environment. Great tit (Parus major) was evaluated as a suitable indicator of the environment especially for its abundance and presence near human settlements. The target of this bachelor thesis is to determine cadmium and copper in dried blood samples of these birds from several parts of Europe. All samples were prepared using microwave digestion and analyzed using the inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, which is known for its ability to determine simultaneously metals in biological samples even at very low concentrations. Key words Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, heavy metals, copper, cadmium, great tit, blood

Transport infrastructure development and its impacts on chosen region
ADAMOVÁ, Simona
The aim of this thesis is familiarization with the development of transport infrastructure in chosen region and especially evaluation of the development together with influences which caused them. The thesis deals with the road transport as the most useful kind of transport. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part there are explained the basic terms of the sector of transport such as the theory of transport system, definition of the transport, introduction to transport geography and mainly is described how much the transport infrastructure is important for society. Practical part contains the main characteristics of the chosen region. There are mentioned both positive and negative influences which have the impact on the region, for example unemployment. These influences are subsequently evaluated.
