Physical and astronomical discussions
Oupický, Pavel
Paper is oriented on the problem parts of physic and astronomy .\nLast year I tried a few considerations about the physical astronomical problems (the FAU I.) in which I did not have a clear or vice versa, I think that they clearly have .. in anything but I'm not too sure, especially with some of the problems was clear to me that some of my comments may be next as they say .. and it was one of the motivations that led me to this sequel .. something i will continue here, something correct and perhaps in between appear as something new and interesting. This time I am going to deal with the following areas of concern of physics and astronomy.
The Optical Parameters of Objective Lens Secrétan Paris 130/1930 of Observatory of Úpice
Rail, Zdeněk ; Melich, Zbyněk
The Optical Parameters of Objective Lens Secrétan Paris 130/1930 of Observatory of Úpice Objective lens of Secrétan Paris 130/1930 of Úpice observatory was cleaned a measured its optical parameters in IPP AS CR, v.v.i. - TOPTEC. In this paper we present results of mathematical simulation of residual aberrations of this lens.
The Construction of the Spectroscope for Observation of the Stellar Spectra
Rail, Zdeněk ; Jareš, Daniel ; Pintr, Pavel ; Vápenka, David
This paper presents the construction list of a spectroscope for visual observation of stellar spectra. The device consists of parts easily accessible on market. Assembly of the spectroscope does not require exceptionally equipped workshop and can be made in very spartan conditions.
The Coma Corrector of D.M.Maksutov
Rail, Zdeněk ; Jareš, Daniel ; Vápenka, David
The simpliest coma corrector of the paraboloidal mirror is a singlet-meniscus of Maksutov. This corrector placed into converging beam of a paraboloidal mirror corrects coma and saves stigmatic image of the system on its optical axis. The corrector can be easily to built and enlarges the field of view about three times.
The Virtual Imaging of the Distant Objects by Longfocal Positive Lenses and Concave Mirrors
Rail, Zdeněk ; Vápenka, David
The longfocal positive lenses and concave mirrors can serve as optical elements increasing the angular dimensions of the distant objects similarly to telescope.\nThese properties could be probably used by ancient observers before the discovery of telescope.\nOur paper brings optical analysis and results of visual astronomical observations with the longfocal positive lens.
The Catadioptric System of G.M. Popov of the Observatory of Úpice
Rail, Zdeněk ; Melich, Zbyněk
During the Sixties of the Twentieth Century series of two-mirror catadioptric telescopes were designed with a correcting lens in front of their secondary mirror. One of the first designers of these devices was P.P. Argunov. His optical designs were further developed by G.M. Popov, J. Klevcov and other opticians. In 2005 one telescope of a Popov system of diameter 305 mm was manufactured in the Development Optical Workshop of Academy of Sciences of Czech Republic /now Institute of Plasma Physics of AS CR,v.v.i.-Toptec/ in Turnov. The telescope was intended to substitute an older Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope of diameter of 260 mm of the Observatory in Úpice which required the reconstruction. In this paper we present an optical design of the Popov´s system of the Observatory in Úpice and compare it with an equal commercial Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and further devices.\n
The Spherochromatic Aberration of the Clark‘s Objective Lens of the Ondřejov Observatory
Rail, Zdeněk ; Šrajer, Bohdan ; Jareš, Daniel ; Vápenka, David ; Pintr, Pavel
In our paper the results of mathematical simulations of the residual aberrations of Clark‘s 8 inch (diameter 203.2 mm) objective lens are presented. This achromatic dublet has been used at the Ondřejov Observatory for more than 100 years mostly for solar observation.
Imaging properties of several important reflectors
Rail, Zdeněk ; Jareš, Daniel
In this work we present the results of simulations of imaging properties of several important historical mirror telescopes constructed, Newton, Hadley, Herschel, Rosse
Simulation of Residual Optical Aberrations of Objective Lens 210/3452 of Solar Spectrograph of Ondřejov Observatory
Rail, Zdeněk ; Jareš, Daniel ; Melich, Radek
At the end of 2012 was done measuring and clean the lens 210/3452 of the solar spectrograph Observatory Astronomical Institute Academy of Sciences in Ondrejov. The spectrograph is working in line H-alpha and is formed by a birefringent lens-polarizing filter, positioned in front of the focal plane. The measured values are enumerated in the optical properties. In a report to present to the results of mathematical quantification of residual defects and new optical system design suitable for use Fabry-Perot filters.
Surface states in photonic crystals
Vojtíšek, Petr ; Richter, I.
Among many unusual and interesting physical properties of photonic crystals (PhC), in recent years, the propagation of surface electromagnetic waves along dielectric PhC boundaries have attracted considerable attention, also in connection to their possible applications. Such surfaces states, produced with the help of specialized defects on PhC boundaries, similarly to surfaces plasmons, are localized surfaces waves and, as such, can be used in various sensing applications. In this contribution, we present our recent studies on numerical modelling of surface states (SS) for all three cases of PhC dimensionality. Simulations of these states were carried out by the use of plane wave expansion (PWE) method via the MIT MPB package.
