European defence community, 1950-1954. Europe and the peak of the Cold War
Švec, Miroslav ; Horčička, Václav (advisor) ; Kovář, Martin (referee)
The main objective of this thesis is to analyze the origin and evolution of the European Defence Community (EDC) between 1950-1954 and to characterize its role in the security policy of Western powers and the United States at the height of the Cold War. The thesis is divided into several parts, which are thematically closed chapter. Introductory chapters deal with the consequences of war in Korea on consideration of the rearmament of the Federal Republic of Germany and the circumstances that led to the evolvement of so-called Pleven plan. Subsequent chapters follow the gradual development of the European Defence Community project, which culminated in the signing of the Treaty in Paris 27th May 1952. The remaining chapters focus on the process of ratification of the treaty in various participating countries and the problems that accompanied this trend. Although accent is put primarily on its own evolution of the planned organization, neither the period nor relationships and changing interests of key participants together with the wider context of international and internal development are omitted.
Pěstování vybraných druhů rostlin pro energetické využití
ŠVEC, Miroslav
This diploma thesis on the topic "Cultivation of selected plant species for energy use" in the first chapters of the theoretical part deals with Czech and world energy. The chapters on renewable energy sources and the possibilities of using biomass for plants for energy purposes follow. The research also deals with grasslands as alternative energy sources with a focus on direct burning. The last chapters of the research are focused on the cultivation of selected energy crops, such as the Elymus elongatus grass (subspecies Ponticus, Szarvasi-1) and Miscanthus × giganteus. The practical part describes the establishment, nursing and harvesting of small-scale experiments of Szarvasi-1 grass and Miscanthus × giganteus grass varieties, which were cultivated on the premises of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and were grown as energy crops for direct incineration. Experiments with the Szarvas-1 cultivation took place in three types of farming. The first variation was the so-called "extensive" form where the plants were not fertilized with any fertilizer. The second form of farming was the "intensive" variant, in which the fertilizer was fertilized with mineral fertilizers. The last variant labeled "digestate" was fertilized with organic fertilizer. Maloparcelian experiments with Miscanthus × giganteus were carried out only in one variation of cultivation than Szarvasi-1, "intensive". For both varieties of energy crops harvested in spring 2013 and for all cultivation variants, the yield potentials from the last five years of vegetation of these cultures were evaluated after a six-year vegetation period. The evaluated parameters were in particular the yields of fresh matter and dry matter in t ha-1, but also the average solids content in %. These results were recorded and compared with specialist literature. The results of the work show that Miscanthus × giganteus yields on average higher yields than Szarvasi-1, which surprisingly best responds to organic fertilizer fertilization.

Evaluation of two different types of apparatus for producing electrolytically treated water and their effect on zootechnical parameters.
ŠVEC, Miroslav
Working with the theoretical part of the first looks at ways of fattening broiler chickens kept for meat production. The following are selected chapters technology intensive fattening of broiler focused on breeding on litter technology. Work in this section also addresses microclimate conditions and zootechnical indicators. At the end of the theoretical part introduces electrolytically treated water, the principle of its production, its advantages and applications. In the practical part of the work introduces with company TAGREA Ltd. in Čekanice near Tábor, which serves as a farm for intensive fattening chickens on litter technology and where has also been evaluated two different types of apparatus for producing electrolytically treated water, specifically device Envirolyte and apparatus e-Dison. This part continues characteristic of these types of devices, says their technology, specifications and advantages. The following is a graphic design and compare the results of seven courses of using one or other of type of device. The theoretical part this works ends an evaluation of these results and the conclusion.
