Modeling of flow in ejector
Bílek, Martin ; Habán, Vladimír (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the flow modelling in the ejector using the FLUENT software. It develops a diploma thesis created in the past, where a mathematical flow model in the ejector was created and experimentally tested. The aim of this work is to analyze the ejector calculations and to model a flow in an ejector of the same shape as in the experiment and under the same conditions, too. Another objective was to assess the influence of the throat length and to examine if the pressure in the ejector mixing chamber remains constant. Finally, the disagreement between the experimental figures and the ones gained from the mathematical model of the ejector are discussed.
Vegetable wastewater plants and their role nowadays
Petrů, Lukáš ; Červinka, Martin (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is elaboration of the research themed Vegetable wastewater plants and their role nowadays. The paper describes various cleaning methods and their principles. The second part of the report contains a mapping vegetable wastewater plants in Czech Republic.
Hydrobike - feasibility study
Kunovský, Lukáš ; Kárník, Jan (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis presents a project of hydraulic system which is intended specifically for bicycle drive and is realized through hydrostatic transducers. It gives information about necessary components and about the procedure of their selection. In this procedure it focuses particularly on weight reduction and loss minimization. Apart from the considerations as such, it also analyzes prior concepts and adopts suitable improvements from these. In the presented plan it demonstrates a method of effective verification of the real parameters of the whole as well as of the partial components.
Design of Air Purifier for Home Use
Kotenkova, Tatiana ; Sládek, Josef (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor work is the design of an air purifier for home use. The main goal is to design an air purifier for the home, office or expectant environment and a suitable air purifying technology with an emphasis on ergonomic and aesthetic innovations. Is solving the problem of the optimal combination of modern technologies, ergonomic features and design for maximum efficiency of the air purifier's work and fulfillment of the aesthetic function in the daily use of the product. The resulting product responds all modern needs and expectations. The combination of the functions of disinfecting the air and the surfaces in the room, the variability of the location and transmission of the air purifier makes it potentially a demand for a wide audience of buyers.
Optimizing of a hydraulic part of a cooling system of a hot-air slide valve
Melecký, Josef ; Kárník, Jan (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
Master´s thesis deals with hydraulic optimisation of a hot blast gate valve. The valve must be cooled down, because of very high temperature that is exposed to. The existing cooling system is oversized and uneffective. This gave opportunity to create a brand new system, that would lower operating expenses. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to comparsion between both systems from the point of the total pressure loss. The second part of the thesis deals with hydraulic optimisation of the new system. Computations are modelled in CFD.
Portable water pico turbine design, production and basic parameters verifying
Tománek, Ladislav ; Haluza, Miloslav (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to design, manufacture and measure the characteristics of a mobile water pico turbine. More precisely, it is an experimental construction of a mill wheel. The first part of this document is describing the design and manufacture of the turbine. This part focuses mainly on the construction of water wheels with different sizes of buckets and on the nozzle supplying water to the turbine. There is also a CFD simulation of pressure loss of nozzle. The second part of the thesis is focused on the processing of data that were measured in the laboratory, including the determination of uncertainties. The measurements were performed for different turbine settings such as flow, speed, different wheel shapes and different positions of the nozzle distributing water to the wheel. For individual turbine settings are created characteristics, from which maximum powers and maximum efficiencies parameters are determined.
Design of Portable 3D Scanner
Štigler, Jaroslav ; Rubínová, Dana (referee) ; Sovják, Richard (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor‘s thesis is design of handheld 3D scanner. This scanner belongs in the higher price category. This thesis deals with problems like long working time, watching monitor during scanning, versatility and safety measures from mechanical damage. Ergonomic solution is also very important. This design is based on a simple and functional shaping. Shaping and color solution corresponds with its use in industry. This scanner also can be used in other fields (for example: medical sector, design, archeology, etc.).
Study of in-take vortices
Burda, Radim ; Štigler, Jaroslav (referee) ; Hudec, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with vortex flow, in particular intake-vortices formations with emphasis on intake-vortices with full air core which appear near vertical intakes. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part contains theoretical research on the intake-vortices and maps development of this field during the last 60 years. The goal of the experimental part is to verify recommended dependence of the formation of intake-vortices with full air core on submerge of intake and volumetric flow rate. The experiment was conducted in the laboratory of the fluid engineering department of Viktor Kaplan.
Optimizing of Simplyfeid Circular Distributional Pipe of the Vertical Pelton Turbine with 5 Nozzles.
Halabrin, Robin ; Himr, Daniel (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with hydraulic optimization of distribution pipeline for 5 nozzle Pelton’s turbine by using CFD. The thesis is a follow-up to a previous diploma thesis which deals with the possibilities to simplify existing distribution pipeline. A few simplified versions of distribution pipelines were solved and the results show which way we should proceed towards the right solution. The simplified distribution pipeline arises from given parameters and retains the same procedure of evaluation to give us the opportunity of comparing achieved results. Two new geometries of distribution pipeline were created. They were then modified to achieve optimal distribution of discharge in each nozzle. Other criteria used for comparison were static pressure and Coriolis’ number in specific slices inside pipeline. Last but not least a simple economical analysis for selected version of distribution pipeline was carried out on the basis of which we can see the manufacturing costs of the pipeline.
Boundary Vorticity Element Method for 2D Fluid Flow
Fic, Miloslav ; Pochylý, František (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with boundary vorticity element method for 2D fluid flow. The aim of this work is to program this method with continuous vorticity lay-out and to validate method with various boundary conditions. The computed results are presented in this work. Advantages and disadvantages of each one boundary condition are pointed out. New one boundary condition for boundary vorticity element method is applied in this thesis.
