The Quality of Life of Carers of People with the Dementia Syndrom

The Bachelor thesis discusses the quality of life of carers of people with the Dementia Syndrom. The theoretical part deals with the description of the Dementia Syndrom, the personality of the carer, risks of the care and the theory of the life quality focussed on the carer. The focus of the thesis is a research based on the quality analysis of the semistructured interviews. Ten carers of different age, sex and domicile performed as the examined sample. The practical part is focussed on the attitude of a carer to the patient and on the problematics of the cultural life of the carers. Further, on the possibility of attending a job for carers and what knowledge about the health-social services do the carers have. And at last on the answer how are these services accesible. The verbatim transcriptions of the interviews with the particular respondents are included. The conclusion is that the carers are exhausted due to the care, that they cannot attend their job and have shortage of the information about the social and especially the health services.

The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to compare transradial and transfemoral access to vessel during the heart cathetrization. considering the subjective perception of client. It is resumpting the present status of interventional treatment of heart diseases, summarizing the most impoilant methods of this treatment and adverts to significance of educating the clients. Empirical research is based on the informations captured from the interviewed clients of the catheterization laboratory in Hradec Králové and it is proposing to evaluate subjective perception of the invasive examination by the client. considering the vessel access.

An effect of non-specific factors on acupuncture effectiveness in patients with migraine

1 Abstract Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Charles University in Prague Student: Markéta Talácková Tutor: PharmDr. Jitka Pokladníková, Ph.D. Title of Rigorous Thesis: An effect of non-specific factors on acupuncture effectiveness in patients with migraine The aim of this study was to assess whether higher level of expectancy in patients with migraine leads to improvement of their clinical condition after a 12-week acupuncture course and during a 6-month follow-up. Patient's clinical condition was assessed as a number of migraine days and as a reduction in medication consumption. Other non-specific factors were included in this study as well. As the most significant non-specific factors, which contributed to an increased short-term effectiveness of acupuncture, were post-treatment positive expectancy and patient's mental state. However, the effect of positive expectancy decreased with time. The long-term effect of acupuncture was influenced by patient's positive perception of the TCM (Traditional Chinese medicine ) practitioner. Patient's expectancy, patient's relationship with the TCM physician and good mental state played a role in reduction of migraine days. This Bachelor's pursuit discusses the Burnout syndrome of a nurse on intensive care ward. It shows why the enthusiasm of a young nurse disappears so fast although she has the spark to start with. In the theoretical part the Burnout syndrome is defined, the cause of emergence, its stages, the utterences and prevention. The base of the empirical part stands on the quntitative research of the permanent exhaustion of the medical staff. It refers to the connection between the Burnout syndrome and the working environment, interpersonal relationships and private life of an ordinary nurse. In the research samples are nurses, working on five different wards within one hospital in Prague. The research was done through two different questionnaires: standardized and half- structured.
Quality of life in patients with coronary artery disease after percutaneous coronary intervention treatment

Key words: quality of life, assessment of quality of life, coronary artery disease, percutaneous coronary intervention Bachelor's thesis is focused on assessment of quality of life in 50 patients with chronic coronary artery disease after receiving percutaneous coronary intervention treatment. Risk factors, signs, diagnostic techniques, treatment and prevention were mentioned. Practical part of the thesis is based on questionnaire survey. The objectives are to evaluate the quality of life in patients with chronic coronary artery disease before treatment and assess the effect of treatment on further quality of life in these patients. Patients' compliance of preventive interventions and important differencies between both sexes were measured as well.
Burnout syndrome of general nurses in the Prison Service in Czech Republic

The extended essay is aimed to find out an occurrence of burnout among nurses working in prisoner services in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part is interested in a definition of bucnout. It describes symptoms, phases, diagnostic, the differences from the other psychic states and ways of antistress programme. It shows characteristic specialities of work in prisoner services. The practical part gives the result of the questionnaire research done in January 2009 among the nurses working in prisoner services in the Czech Republic. The main goal of the research was to state the frequency of the burnout among respondents, comparsion of the differences among nurses working in different types of prisons. It compares the differences between the intensity and the length of burnout syndrome in the practice of prison. It offers a precaution againsts the occurrence of burnout syndrome among nurses working in prison.
Eating habits of children

My bachelor work deals with the problems of children obesity. I mention the definition of obesity, BMI, children obesity consequences, food pyramid, drinking habits and movement activity of children in the theoretical part. Further I analyse psychological aspects of children obesity, the personality of an obese child and behaviour disorders of obeze children. In the empirical part I describe the process of doing my research. At the same time I compare the answers of children from primary school and secondary school. I examined the children from primary school using narrative analysis while with the children from secondary school I led a half structured conversation. All in all 36 children from primary school and 11 children from secondary school took part in my research. I deal with questions of popularity of meals, regularity of eating and also how children spend their leisure time. The end of my work is devoted to the evaluation of it.
