Design of Bridge on the road I/58
Odvárka, Miroslav ; Šimon, Jan (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of the bridge o the road I/58 over a watercourse and dirt road. The main content is the design and calculation of a continuous bridge structure with two bays. During designing the bridge, I based on Czech and European standards especially ČSN EN 1991 and ČSN EN 1992. A two-beam structure was selected from the developed three variants of bridging. Drawing documentation, construction procedure, visualization and static calculation were prepared for it. The result is an economical bridge structure with high durability and almost maintenance-free operation.
Prefabricated concrete structure
Šimon, Jan ; Šulák, Pavel (referee) ; Bažant, Zdeněk (advisor)
The master thesis is about a design of supporting structure of prefabricated skeleton hall. The major part of a design are an internal trasverse and longitudinal frames, which contents roof reinforce concrete truss, columns, beam and ceiling joists. All the load acting to the bearing structure is transferred to the prefabricate footing made of reinforce concrete. Other parts of the bulding are not solved in this thesis. The content of the thesis consists of an assembly drawing of parts of the skeleton and the static calculation according to the actual international standards. The output of each static calculation is drawing of a shape of part and its reinforcement.
Concrete structure of railway platform
Šimon, Jan ; Šulák,, Pavel (referee) ; Bažant, Zdeněk (advisor)
The bachelor´s work is has engeaged of the concept of a roof load-bearing construction of the railway covered platform. It is concernerd of a momolithic ferroconcrete scelet construction with a console panel. The weighting is put over to separate footing. The summary of the bachelor’s work is based upon dimenzation and designing elements of load-bearing construction accordance with ultimate limit state. Result of the each static calculation is design of armature .
Fossil clown beetles (Coleoptera: Histeridae): early evolution of "beetle tanks"
Simon Pražák, Jan ; Prokop, Jakub (advisor) ; Růžička, Jan (referee)
Clown beetles (Histeridae) represent a diverse (>4500 described species) group of beetles with worldwide distribution (except Antarctica) and with exceptional diversity of occupied habitats. Specialisation on environments such as subcortical space, dung and carrion, tunnels of wood- boring insects, caves, sand deserts, beaches, rodent burrows or ant colonies, has led to remarkable adaptations of morphology and even radical changes of entire body shape. To understand evolutionary paths of this extraordinary group of beetles, fossils are of vital importance. In this study, I examined eight undescribed species of fossil Histeridae from mid-Cretaceous Burmese and Hkamti ambers. I provide morphological descriptions and discuss possible taxonomical position of these species based on morphological characters. I further tested the phylogenetic position of all Cretaceous Histeridae genera via a topology-constrained maximum parsimony analysis based on a set of 69 characters. Among the studied species, representatives of Abraeini and Paromalini are reported for the first time from the Cretaceous. I discuss evolutionary implications based on the new as well as other Histeridae fossils. Subcortical strategy was likely common in the Cretaceous histerids, now reported in three separate lineages. It is also...
Evolution of histeroid beetles (Coleoptera: Histeroidea): phylogenetics, fossil record and life histories
Simon Pražák, Jan ; Fikáček, Martin (advisor) ; Lackner, Tomáš (referee)
Histeroid beetles (Coleoptera: Staphyliformia: Histeroidea) represent an important lineage of beetles, known for a rich diversity of body forms and inhabited environments. In this thesis, I summarize available information about their position in the beetle tree of life and the available information about their ecology and biology. I specifically address current ideas about the evolution of the four histeroid families (Histeridae, Cretohisteridae, Synteliidae and Sphaeritidae) and the internal phylogeny of the Histeridae. To understand the available data about the past diversity of the group, I provide a summary of all described fossil species. The group has undergone numerous habitat shifts, often connected with apparent morphological and behavioural adaptations, some of which likely increased the diversification rate of respective lineages. This thesis aims to connect the available phylogenetic, fossil and ecological data to provide a summary of the evolutionary history of the lineage.

Performer & Law
Langerová, Lucie ; KASÍK, Martin (advisor) ; SIMON, Jan (referee)
This bachelor’s thesis “Performer and Law” should serve as a legal guide for all the performers who get in touch with law in many different situations, often while even not knowing it. Individual sections deal with topics such as copyright law – authors’ rights and related rights, tax law and social security law. Step by step the text describes the situations that performer could be involved in due to his or her activity, all the rights and duties steaming from these situations and procedure to exercise those rights or performs those duties. The author’s aim is to familiarize people, who haven’t ever handled with law, with this huge phenomenon. Therefore, there is a comprehensible language used in this thesis, instead of that used in professional legal literature.
Comparison of NIRS and other methods to determine anaerobic threshold
Šimon, Jan ; Slabý, Kryštof (advisor) ; Dostal, Jiří (referee)
The aim of this study was to compare NIRS (Near-infrared spectroscopy) and respiratory parameters measurement in determination of anaerobic treshold. Additionally changes in muscle oxygenation (SmO2) were described during incremental bicycle excercise. Fifteen subjects, 9 men and 6 women took part in this study. To verify the reliability of the measurement, the experiment was performed in the form of a test/retest with a few day's delay. The value of SmO2 was measured in m. gastrocnemius lateralis and m. vastus lateralis. In addition, respiratory parameters and pulse rate were recorded during the examination. The data obtained show that the breakpoint in the SmO2 dynamics determined by the NIRS method means that the excercise intensity above the anaerobic threshold is reached, because the breakpoint is located in the area of the Respiratory Compensation Point. In the SmO2 parameter, it is also possible to monitor the equilibrium state during the rest phase. The SmO2 parameter after the ramp log terminates exceeds the value in the rest phase, and returns to the quiescent value usually within 2 minutes. The test/re-test method has verified the reliability of the measurement.
The distribution of the strain and differences of muscle activity of the lower limb during stance phase in two basic running techniques
Šimon, Jan ; Slabý, Kryštof (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jan (referee)
This thesis is focused on the function of the foot during the running activity. There are two basic running techniques taken in account - the rearfoot strike and the forefoot strike. The aim is to compare the distribution of the strain during the stance phase of running cycle and its relation to the muscle activity of the lower limb. To analyze the muscle activity we use the technique of electromyography (EMG). To measure the pressure during the stance phase we used Pedar - X insoles from the Novel company. As a conclusion we aim to map the distribution of the strain of all particular parts of the lower limb. At the same time we are bringing the proposals for eliminating the overexertion while keeping the same training intensity and volumes.
