Credit policy of Maxmilian II. (1564-1576) with special view to Bohemia
Chmelař, Jiří ; Čechura, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Šimek, Eduard (referee)
The Credit Policy of Maximilian II. (1564 - 1576) with special view to Bohemia is an overlooked theme. A1so whole personality of the emperor is in the shadow ofhis more known relations, the father Ferdinand 1. and the son Rudolf II. A last work, which was specialized in an economic and a credit policy, is over sixty years oldo Therefore I have to use foreign studie s, which are linked with the intemational project named A Financial and Economic Policy of the first Habsburgs. I have chosen this theme, because I had written a study about the king's credit policy in 1574 and 1575 in 2005. This study is divided into five parts, An Introduction, The Survey of Sources and Literatures, The Financial and Economic Policy, The Campaign in 1566, Eliška z Landštejna na Tuchorazi and Magdalena z Brodějovic as Examples of Creditors. The first expert chapter is The Financial and Economic Policy. In this issue I would like to introduce an administration of Maximilian' s revenues and expenses. I have given consideration to offices and officers, chamber' s possessions, credits, fiscal systems in the second part of the XVI.th century, a phenomenon of loan. I would like to give notice of elaborate lists of loans and creditors and a new detected chamber's instruction at 12. January 1571. The second chapter is based on a...
Lifestyle as a social determinant of health (an attempt to operationalize one social relationship)

Coins of the 9th and 10th centuries in archaeological discoveries from the Czech lands and their contribution to the beginning phase of the Czech history. The dissertation is focused on coins of the 9th and 10th centuries found on the territory of the Czech lands. Their archaeological context and detailed numismatic description bring new data, which can help to complete and precise our knowledge of the early medieval phase of the Czech history. Number of coins dating to the period before production of the first issues in the Czech lands (i.e. the coins of the 9th century and the first half of the 10th century) discovered on the mentioned territory increased. Their chronology is the following: the Old- Bohemian phase, the Old-Moravian phase and the Early Přemyslid phase, which is described in the first chapter of the dissertation - Coin finds before the beginning of the coinage in the territory of the Czech lands. The text brings results pointing to different monetary development of Bohemia and Moravia of that period. The new finds indicate a specific role of Bohemia in relationship with the Bavarian centre of the Frankish Empire. This situation culminates in production of the first coins in the Czech lands during the first half of the 960s. The second chapter of the dissertation - Beginning of the coinage...
The structure of currency in the Czech lands in the second half of the 17th century. The predictive value of coin findings of the second half of the 17th century
Brádle, Vojtěch ; Kostlán, Antonín (referee) ; Šimek, Eduard (referee)
Contemporary Czech numismatics still lacks an up-to-date summary work which would deal with the issues of monetary circulation in Bohemia in the second half of the 17th century which to a great extent coincides with the rule of Leopold I. Besides studying written sources monetary situation of the given period may be also enlightened in a way by coin hoards cached at that time. Following the criteria of the minimum number of 100 coins in particular hoards, their complete or almost complete preservation and a certain degree of expert processing, 13 coin hoards were selected cached by their owners between 1650 and 1700 containing in all 8089 coins. These coins were used for making a detailed analysis with the objective to ascertain monetary structure in Bohemia in the second half of the 17th century, compare the results with the composition of coins hoards from between 1618 and 1648 and thus reveal possible changes and trends. In the case of Bohemian coinages the objective was also to compare its representation in coins hoards abroad in other parts of the Habsburg monarchy. Last but not least, the analysis was to verify some theses often repeated in literature concerning e.g., occurrence and influx of foreign coins to the territory of Bohemia or significance of private issuers of coins from Bohemia, Moravia...
