Exposure of children to atmospheric aerosol in school gyms

Research into indoor environment has shown that schools are buildings with high- levels of particulate matter concentrations. This is especially the case of schools situated in high-density traffic or in industrial areas. Several studies have also proven the impact of PM on the teenage generation's health. So far no detailed study has been performed to cover the environment of school gyms where the PM dynamics are different from other indoor microenvironments. This different dynamics relates to the gym environment heterogeneity and to the human activities taking place in it. Due to higher pulmonary ventilation, the exposure of the exercising pupils can reach levels possibly noxious to their health. Size resolved mass concentrations of aerosol were measured in three elementary Schools in Prague. One school was situated in the city centre with high traffic density. The second school was situated on a plateau on the periphery with a medium level traffic. The third school can be found in Prague south-western suburbia, in an open landscape, with low traffic density. PM concentrations were measured simultaneously in naturally ventilated gyms and outdoors ajacent to the particular school building. Emergency Overnight in Nature and the Project of Shelters in the Giant Mountains National Park.

Title: Emergency Overnight in Nature and the Project of Shelters in the Giant Mountains National Park. Some forms of outdoor trips include planned overnight under the open sky (bivouac) or in a tent without delay longer in place. This phenomenon (mainly in protected areas) comes into conflict with nature protection and need to find a compromise to satisfy both sides, the visitor and the institution administering the area. The aim of this thesis is to introduce the phenomenon of emergency overnight shelters and the possibilities of camping and bivouacking in nature at home and abroad, to ascertain the awareness of emergency shelters in the Šumava National Park at other Administrations of National Parks and Protected Landscape Areas in the Czech Republic and propose suitable locations for the shelters in the Giant Mountains National Park. Quantitative research was conducted by questionnaire. It examined Administrations of National Parks and Protected Landscape Areas in the Czech Republic. Project of educational cycle trail in the area of the Iron mountains and possibilities of planning cycle trail

Production of informative prospectus, which should be offered in the Tourist Information Centers of the area. Method: Field research, which includes personal mapping in the area and cooperation with the staff of information centers. The collection of information from the fields of cultural and natural heritage. Analysis of the maps and guides as the basis of making educational biking trail. Results: Output material of this work is creating educatinal bikig trail in the Protected landscape area Iron Mountain and its environs, which will be processed in the form of information brochure. According to a participator will be able to pass the route. The brochure containing texts, pictures and maps, is possible to offer information centers in the area and also present in electronic form on the internet. Offer of Outdoor Sport Courses for 2nd Grade of Chosen Basic School in Liberec Region

Title: Offer of Outdoor Sport Courses for the 2nd Grade of Chosen Basic Schools in Liberec Region Aim: The aim of this bachelor's thesis is the description, providing of deeper details and evaluation of recent offer of sport courses in a field of education and outdoor activities taught at basic schools. Method: All data used in practical part of this bachelor's work were collected using direct questioning method. To collect the information, questionnaires and semi- structured interviews were used. Questionnaires were addressed to eitght- and nine-grade students of selected basic schools and were compiled of six closed questions. The semi-structured interview was conducted with managing directors of all chosen basic schools. It was compiled out of twelve mostly opened questions. Collected data were statistically processed and graphically and or orally presented. Results: Information collected either by using the semi- structured interview with basic schools managing directors or questionnaires addressed to eight and nine grade students assured the original expectations. Difference between both evaluated schools from the sport courses perspective is quite significant, mainly because of its offer. This conclusion has an impact to students satisfaction in both schools. Title A Project of Educational Bicycle Trail in Kokořínsko Protected Landscape Area. Objective The aim of this work is to create a project of Educational bicycle trail in Protected Landscape Area (PLA) Kokořínsko, create an information brochure, which could be distributed to tourist information centres in the region. Methods The discussion with employees of Kokořínsko PLA and collection of information on existing bicycle trails, bicycle tracks, educational trails, natural and cultural assets in the area. Classification and verification of collected data. Using the information obtained for creating an Educationl bicycle trail. Presenting a summary in an information brochure. Assessment of the project via questionaires. Results The result of this work is a proposal of two educational cycle trails with possible combinations in Kokořínsko in form of an information brochure. Ventilation values of elementary and middle school students during their physical education classes

Title: Ventilation values ofelementary and middle school students during their physical education classes. Dissertation goal: To find out volume ofventilation values of elementary and middle school students during their physical education classes. To accomplish tlůs goal we divided the work into three fazes: - laboratory endurance test of primary school students - measuring heart rate with sport-testers Polar Vantage NV during physical education classes - calculating the amount ofventilation during PE classes using heart rate results and laboratory endurance test results Process used in the project: To find out the amount ofventilations in primary school students during their physical education classes we used, laboratory endurance test and heart rate measuring test. We used regression line to obtain ventilation values during PE classes. Results: The results are concrete values of ventilation of thirty six students from two primary schools during their physical education classes. Average value of ventilation in the group ZŠ Petřiny 7.class is 1105 litters per PE-lesson, in the group ZŠ Petřiny 5. class is 1075 litters per PE-lesson, in the group ZŠ Mikulandská 7. class is 1596 litters per PE-lesson and in the group ZŠ Mikulandská 5.class is 1285 litters per PE-lesson.
