Social functioning of a person suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder

This diploma thesis deals with selected problems that result from a person's obsessive compulsive disorder and that can influence and impact their social functioning. It also looks at selected possibilities for social work that can help to address these problems and to restore social functioning. The first chapter of this diploma thesis is focused on obsessive compulsive disorder. This chapter contains basic information about this mental disorder and the problems caused by this disease. The second chapter deals with the treatment of this disease. The third chapter focuses on the social functioning of a person suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder. This chapter contains selected examples of problems caused by this disease and their impact on the social functioning of a person suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder. These are examples from the scientific literature supplemented with examples from the particular case of Peter N.. The fourth chapter deals with selected possibilities of social work that can help to solve these problems and to restore social functioning.
Influence of canistherapy on the elderly

The aim of this Bachelor´s thesis is to summarize the assets of canistherapy for the elderly. How the canistherapy and contact with a dog can to improve the quality of life for this target group. How it improves the physical, psychological, social life of the elderly people. The first chapters of this thesis deal with old age and ageing process. What changes and difficulties facing seniors and what needs they have in this developmental period. Next section is dedicated to the canistherapy. What is a canistherapy, what methods and forms are used and where is the canistherapy used? Furthermore it deals with the canistherapeutic team and the course of canistherapy. The core of this thesis is a chapter: Influence of canistherapy on the elderly. This section examines the assets of canistherapy for the ederly. Also it deals with how the canistherapy and contact with a dog affects the life of the elderly people. One part of this thesis is a qualitative research with the elderly, who participated in canistherapy. The research examined the assets of canistherapie for these seniors. In general, the greatest asset was seen in improving their mood, mental and emotional well-being. All respondents here concurred on a noticeable improvement. An slight improvement was also noted in social relations.
