Glycocalyx shedding by cercariae of bird schistosomes
Chaloupecká, Jana ; Mikeš, Libor (advisor) ; Štěrba, Ján (referee)
Trichobilharzia spp. are avian schistosomes related to medically important human parasites of the genus Schistosoma. Penetrating cercariae are well known as causative agent of cercarial dermatitis in humans. Cercariae actively penetrate the skin of definitive hosts and transform into schistosomula. This process is preceded by cercarial tail detachment and includes emptying of penetration glands and extensive surface changes. One of these changes is the loss of highly immunogenic glycocalyx which represents a protective coat in the aquatic environment. The glycocalyx has specific composition of saccharide molecules which are bound to lipids or proteins on the membrane of cercarial tegument. There is only limited information about the mechanism of shedding. Hypotheses based on indirect evidences suggest that peptidases or (phospho)lipases from penetration glands could be involved. This work describes the changes in surface glycosylation during transformation of cercariae into schistosomula by fluorescently labelled lectins and monoclonal antibodies against Lewis X antigen. Lectins UEA-I, LTA and PNA have been chosen as markers of transformation of T. regenti. Further, our experiments have been focused on shedding of cercarial glycocalyx. During in vitro induction of penetration gland emptying and...
Comparison of performance tests results determined during kayak spiroergometry with achieved kayak paddling performance
Štěrba, Jan ; Bílý, Milan (advisor) ; Doktor, Martin (referee)
- 6 - Abstract Title: Comparison of performance tests results determined during kayak spiroergometry with achieved kayak paddling performance. Objectives: The aim of the study was to determine relationships between functional parameters values found during kayak spiroergometry and sport performance at 1000 meters distance, and how are these relationships going to change based on training period. Methods: To determine statistical dependence between sport performance at 1000 meters distance and choosen factors of sport performance, the correlation research was used - as a variable-dependent value the final result of sport performance at 1000 meters distance was used, as a variable-independent amounts functional parameters values found during kayak spiroergometry were used. To discover the statistical dependence methods of Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression analysis were used. Results: General level of kayak-athletes from testing file indicated by functional parameters values and demonstrated by kayak spiroergometry performance depends on kayak- athlete's level of sport performance at 1000 meters distance in prepared-training period only, when importance for general condition is emphasized. We did not discover the same phenomenon based on pre-racing period testing results. Sport performance at...
Saturation of clients' needs in NZDM. Predominantly with Roma children
Štěrba, Jan ; Pazlarová, Hana (advisor) ; Víšek, Petr (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses on fulfilling clients' needs by workers in low-threshold services for children and juveniles with predominantly Romany clients based in the city of Prague. The practical part of the thesis seeks effective methods of work to fulfill needs of Romany clients in these establishments. The thesis researches methods how to set these social services appropriately so that clients' needs would be satisfied sufficiently. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Possibilities, risks and legislative restrictions of multirotors from information management point of view
Štěrba, Jan ; Sigmund, Tomáš (advisor) ; Čermák, Radim (referee)
The thesis deals with the possibilities and risks of multirotors in connection with acquiring, processing and distribution of information with regard to how these possibilities are limited and the risks addressed by legislation. The aim of the theoretical part of this thesis was to analyze how multirotors are involved in the information society, what are the possibilities of their use in connection with data collection and acquiring of information, what are the risks of using them and how problems are dealt with by Czech legislation. Categorized use possibilities state practical examples of what data can multirotors provide and how multirotors can be used to acquire information. The risks associated with using multirotors were found mainly in context of invasion of privacy and physical security. Based on the research of legislative sources, it was found that the legislation covers all the risks very well. The aim of the research part of this thesis was to find out how the users of multirotors abide the current legislation, which provisions they violate from the point of view of aviation regulations and to what extent they invade the privacy of third parties when using multirotors. Based on quantitative research, where the research method used was an electronic questionnaire, it was found that even though that about half of the users do not fly in accordance with aviation regulation L2 - aviation rules, 78% of them violates only one provision. In addition, it can be stated that there is a dependence between the presence of navigation systems on a multirotor and violation of this aviation regulation. It was also found that 89% of users do not intrude the privacy of third parties by using multirotors and that the violation of the amendment X and intruding of privacy are independent.

Clients Management Database for Tax Advisors
Štěrba, Jan ; Novák, Václav (referee) ; Bojar, Ondřej (advisor)
The goal of this project is to implement a system for management of tax advisor's clients. The purpose of this system is to manage all relevant data about clients and work assignments and to simplify time management. An important feature of the system is to generate summaries of assignments, schedule and deadlines and also give statistical data about payments to the advisor. The system will provide output to external data formats and simultaneous work of multiple users.
Determination of Transfer Prices in OEZ Group
Toman, Petr ; Šťerba, Jan (referee) ; Kocmanová, Alena (advisor)
The theme of my thesis „Determination of Transfer Prices in OEZ group“ is determination the way of creation transfer prices for business iterrelations between affined companies. Work is focused on theoretic knowledge from areas of transfer prices whose pillar is „The Arm´s Length Principle“. With it relating tax correlation and required production of documentation for transparence for financing organs. Final recommendation are target to how (in the concrete and also generally) above all on problems resulting from current economic situation. Of binding force recommendation touche above all areas cover binding appreciation about correctness of creation transfer prices.
Flagellin and outer surface proteins from Borrelia burgdorferi are not glycosylated
ŠTĚRBA, Ján
Glycosylation of four proteins from Borrelia burgdorferi s.s. was investigated ? flagellins FlaA, FlaB, and outer surface proteins OspA and OspB. Glycosylation of these four proteins was not proved by any of the used techniques. However, other glycan-staining positive proteins were present in the borrelia samples. These proteins were suggested to originate in the culture medium.
