Fairy tales in the world of a preschool child

The topic of this bachelor´s thesis is traditional fairy tale in the life of preschool children. The goal of this paper is to explore how can traditional fairy tale narration compete with the cultural pressure of modern mass-produced fantasy movies and TV shows for children and if it is a viable way to spark their interest and gain their trust. In the theoretical part I focus on traditional fairy tales and related narrative art. I also mention the psychological impact of fairy tales on preschoolers. In the practical part I analyzed fairy tale heroes and interviewed a sample of twenty two children aged over five years. Following that I organized a project focused on a traditional Czech fairy tale "Zlatovláska" which I presented to the children both by narration and by methods of experiential education. After two weeks I repeated the interviews and measured all changes in the children's favorite heroes.
