The analysis of social enterprise according to the TESSEA approach: The case study of Pracovní Sobota ltd.

The aim of the final thesis was the analysis of a social enterprise according to the TESSEA approach. The case study was conducted using both the document analysis and interviews. The document analysis showed which criteria (according to the TESSEA approach) were fulfilled by the chosen organization and which were not. Furthermore, there were analysed the mechanisms causing that the certain criteria were not fulfilled. These data were obtained through the interviews with the representatives of the organization. Finally, it is possible to conclude that the subject of the research fulfilled the criteria of the TESSEA approach. There were introduced the factors explaining why the criteria were not fulfilled. According to the representatives of the chosen organization among these main factors belonged the lack of financial and time resources, the lack of know-how, the legislative boundaries or the modeling the organization after commercial enterprises.
The forms of implementation of the principles of community education in practice. Case study of a community school.

2 Abstract The mail aim of this thesis is to set the concept of community education in the broader perspective of historical sociology and to do a case study to find out in which ways the selected Czech primary community school fulfils the principles of community education in practice. Firstly, the work focuses on the general presenta- tion of basic concepts, which are associated with community education (terms of education and community). This is followed by a description and analysis of the principles of community education and by an overview of its historical roots, first abroad and then in the Czech Republic. Attention is also paid to organizations which try to implement community education in the Czech Republic with emphasis on the role and cooperation of primary schools and civil society organizations. After this theoretically oriented part follows the empirical part, which is introduced by the design of the case study. Then the description of the community primary school is provided and results of the research are introduced. People Development in Fusion Project

This thesis focusses on the subject of leadership. It describes various leadership styles, considers the personality of a leader and whether or not it is possible to learn to be a good leader. It also addresses the issue of teamwork; what is a team, what are the characteristics of a successful team, and what causes a team to fail in its task. In addition, the thesis also looks at volunteer work; who is a volunteer, what is the volunteer's role in an organization, and what are their needs, and some issues faced in developing human resources. The practical part on this thesis is focussed on Fusion; it describes Fusion's activities, and how it functions in the Czech Republic and abroad. Based on field research, it highlights the needs of Fusion leaders, and proposes the needed leadership training and development to fulfill this need. Commercionalization of Non Profit Organizations, Analysis of Commercial Activities of Czech Non Profit Organizations in the Field of Social Rehabilitation

Anglický This thesis deals with commercionalization and commercial activities of Czech Non-profit organizations providing social services in the field of social rehabilitation. In the first, theoretical, part the commercionalization issue is thoroughly explained, next a summary of researched legal persons and organizational theories used is presented. In the second, methodological part, research quantitative design and all necessary requisites are presented. Third, empirical, part deals with research evaluation. Research was done with usage of electronic questionnaire asking about forms of commercial activities, extent of commercionalization and factors leading to NGOs acceptance of commercial activities. It was found out that over one half of examined NGOs is commercially active, the most common form of commercial activities were selling goods and services. It was also found out that extent of commercionalization was low with a potential for future growth, the most frequent factor for commercial activities acceptance were placing NGO's client on the market and uncertainty of state, EU grants.
Peer mentoring programs benefits in terms of civic engagement and social capital

The main goal this diploma thesis is to explore the influence of peer mentoring programs as a tool of community intervention for children and adolescents from the point of view of civic engagement and social capital. The influence is assessed to the recipients of mentoring programs care- to children and adolescents exposed to risk factors or risk environment. This thesis is secondary analysis of Mentoring programs evaluating research in mentoring programs Big Brother Big Sisters- Pět P in Czech republic, in-depth and longitudinal extraordinary study. In this study 7 mentoring couples were assessed for the time period of one year- in the beginning and one year after. Evaluation in Czech: Situation of Evaluation of NGO's Projects in Czech Republic

This thesis deals with the evaluation in the civil sector in Czech Republic. Its main goal is to describe actual state of evaluation in the connection with civil sector. It submits its definitions, typologies, methods and principles from the both - Anglo - Saxon and Czech environment. This work also contains the analysis of interviews with professional evaluators who have experience with the evaluation of civil sector organizations and with representatives of civil sector organizations that have evaluation practice. The author describes evaluation in the context of the transformation of Czech civil sector, its professionalization and the crisis of resources for its organizations.
