Baugruppe Now
Šťastná, Anna ; Císler, Ondřej (referee) ; Hora, Jan (advisor)
Baugruppe, as an alternative option for housing, is made up of a group of people who are looking for a way to create their own housing according to their ideas. They become developers themselves, looking for interesting solutions for their housing that the regular real estate market does not offer. Together, they find land that is often less attractive to ordinary developers and compromise to decide on all the design steps. For the proposed Baugruppe, the site is situated in the town Znojmo, Czech republic. The plots were chosen in such a way that they did not have any particular qualities - on the contrary, that they were rather places that were not at first sight very attractive. The theme of the work is to portray the Baugruppe way of living as community housing. The proposal seeks to figure out a way to make community coexistence as natural as possible for all Baugruppe participants. Whether just meeting the neighbors on the way to their apartments, meeting on the terrace with a friend from the opposite apartment or organizing an event in the common interior/exterior spaces for all Baugruppe participants. All these spaces create a slightly different atmosphere and become a combination of different small worlds that intertwine with each other. At the same time, the aim of the work is to create a house that opens up to its surroundings while allowing all the events of the house to take place undisturbed inside.

Janotová, Tereza ; Šťastná, Anna (advisor) ; Waldaufová, Eva (referee)
Childlessness in socio-demographic perspective in the Czech Republic Abstract This bachelor's thesis provides an overview of reproductive plans, changes in the timing of motherhood and the situation of voluntary childlessness in the Czech Republic. It analyzes socio- demographic factors that influence reproductive plans of people in the reproductive age born and raised in a dynamically changing democratic society. It relies on Czech data from an extensive international survey, the Generations and Gender Survey. The analysis focuses on the differences in reproductive plans between men and women depending on various factors and utilizes contingency tables and logistic regression methods. The data analysis revealed differences in reproductive plans based on gender, economic situation, education, and identified the main motivators for childlessness as the absence of a suitable partner to start a family, financial circumstances for starting a family, and age. Women showed a higher tendency than men to plan a child-free life. Keywords: childlessness, reproductive plans, logistic regression, Czech Republic

Czechia as a target country for cross-border reproductive care
Volejníková, Adéla ; Šťastná, Anna (advisor) ; Fait, Tomáš (referee)
Czechia as a target country for cross-border reproductive care Abstract Since the 1970s, economically developed countries have been experiencing a change in the reproductive behavior of their populations, with one of the main trends being the postponement of fertility to a later age. However, this trend is associated with an increasing risk of infertility, as the chances of natural conception decrease as women age. In this context, there is a growing interest in the treatment of infertility through Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART), which are regulated and governed by legal regulations in many countries. As a result, there is an increase in the provision of cross-border reproductive care, where infertile couples, primarily for legislative reasons, undergo assisted reproduction abroad. Since this is a relatively new and unexplored phenomenon, the aim of this study is to map the main trends in the provision of cross- border reproductive care, focusing on the perspective of Czechia as a destination country. Individual anonymized data on all initiated cycles of assisted reproduction in Czechia from 2016 to 2019 are used. It has been shown that assisted reproduction trends in Czechia are significantly influenced by the provision of cross-border reproductive care, as reproductive tourists accounted for...
Fertility of women aged 35 and over in selected European countries
Zetová, Eva-Marie ; Šťastná, Anna (advisor) ; Waldaufová, Eva (referee)
Fertility of women aged 35 and over in selected European countries ABSTRACT This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of fertility postponement in Europe. It focuses on the fertility of woman aged 35 and over of age in the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Spain and Norway between 2010 and 2020. It describes the postponement of fertility in a historical context, influencing factors, risks associated with women's fertility at the age of 35+, childlessness, and fertility differentiation by age. The method of analysis is fertility demographic analysis from a transversal perspective. The thesis examines fertility trends of women aged 35 and over, as well as the current similarities and differences in the fertility of older women in the studied countries. Data analysis showed that in all studied countries and years, the proportion of the fertility intensity of women aged 35 and over to the total fertility rate is increasing. Keywords: fertility, fertility postponement, late motherhood, demographic analysis
Assisted reproduction in Czechia: sociodemographic context of selected treatment methods
Waldaufová, Eva ; Šťastná, Anna (advisor) ; Fait, Tomáš (referee)
Assisted reproduction in Czechia: sociodemographic context of selected treatment methods Abstract In the context of reproductive ageing, which is one of the most important trends observed since the 1990s in Czechia, there is an increase in the use of assisted reproduction technologies (ART). This brings a number of aspects that can be the subject to a study in the field of demography. Mothers who have conceived by ART and mothers who have conceived without ART are different in terms of structure, and mothers with ART have the worse birth outcomes. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the use of ART methods in Czechia and to identify differences/similarities of mothers according to the way of conception. Not only to compare mothers with or without ART, but also the method of ART (in vitro fertilization, frozen embryo transfer, and oocyte reception). Three birth outcomes are analysed in more detail, and they are low birth weight, preterm births, and caesarean section births. The research is based on individualized anonymized data on mothers who gave birth in Czechia between 2013 and 2018. It turns out that there are differences in the structure of mothers according to the way of conception from the view of sociodemographic structure, health condition, and selected birth outcomes. Using the logistic regression...

Haklová, Barbora ; Kocourková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Šťastná, Anna (referee)
Fertility planning of czech women in the context of preference theory Abstract The aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out, if the different preferences of Czech women are reflected in family planning, in terms of timing and intensity of fertility. The theoretical part of the thesis present theoretical concepts of fertility differentiation. Such as the second demographic transition and preference theory. First it deals with these concepts in general in Europe and then deals with their applications in the Czech Republic. The analytical part operates with data from sample survey Women 2016. First women are divided according to the typology of preference theory. Then with the help of analysis of contingency tables and descriptive characteristics of the data, finding out what is the relationship between the preferences of Czech women and the timing and intensity of fertility. The results of the analysis show that there is a relationship between the preferences of Czech women and the intensity and timing of their fertility on the data from sample survey Women 2016. Keywords: preference theory, parenthood planning, postponement of parenthood, fertility differentiation, Czech republic

The second part of the thesis presents the analysis of fertility in the period of 2000- 2018 based on selected demographic indicators. Part of the analysis includes also the influence of economic factors on the level of fertility in the period 2000-2018 based on selected economic indicators using correlation coefficient and linear regression. In the analysis, we also...
Fertility fluctuations in selected European countries during the COVID-19 pandemic
Švejková, Tereza ; Šťastná, Anna (advisor) ; Slabá, Jitka (referee)
Fertility fluctuations in selected European countries during the COVID-19 pandemic Abstract The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze short-term fluctuations in the fertility rate related to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in four European countries. The theoretical part introduces the origin of the respiratory disease COVID-19, describes the precautions enforced in order to prevent its uncontrolled spread and its repercussions on people's lives. In terms of demography, intentions and possible changes in female reproductive behavior are closely examined, in regard to the uncertainties of the pandemic era. It contains particular examples from the past when extraneous factors and extraordinary events - including economic crises, health and natural disasters - led to temporary deviations in the level of fertility. The major part of the analysis was conducted based on the data from the Short-Term Fertility Fluctuations database, which is a unique data set of short-term fertility deviation data series. It is a part of the Human Fertility Database, which is referenced in this paper as well. The fertility rates were compared in four selected countries - Italy, Spain, Sweden and Czech Republic based on monthly total fertility rate and a year-on-year change in the number of live births. The results differ in...
Fertility postponement in the Czech Republic and selected European countries in the period 1990−2015
Tovarová, Lenka ; Kurtinová, Olga (advisor) ; Šťastná, Anna (referee)
Fertility postponement in the Czech republic and selected European countries in the period 1990−2015 Abstract We have been able to observe the trend of shifting of maternity to later periods of life in European countries since the second half of the 20th century. However crucial for this thesis is to determine whether there have been disparity in delaying of maternity between selected Eastern European (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland) and Western European (Germany and Austria) countries since 1990 till present. The goal of this work is to find the relationship among setting of family policies, fertility rate of older women and respondents' views. In the first part of this thesis are outlined basic theories explaining postponing of maternity. There are also listed consequences related to the late maternity. The thesis touches a topic of family policies which influence the phenomenon of late maternity. It presents several fundamental tools of family policies and compares them among selected countries. The second part focuses on a description of demographic indicators that demonstrate the shift in timing of maternity. The main analysis in this thesis is a logistic regression, which explains respondent's views on issues related to a harmonization of family and employment by selected explanatory variables from...
