Depiction of Slovakia in Czech artistic milieu until 1918
Ernestová, Simona ; Rakušanová, Marie (advisor) ; Šámal, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines the image of Slovakia in the Czech artistic milieu from the mid-19th century to 1918, the year Czechoslovakia was established. It focuses on how Slovakia and Slovaks were depicted in the works of Czech artists such as Josef Mánes, F. B. Zvěřina, Mikoláš Aleš, Jaroslav Augusta, Emil Pacovský and Miloš Jiránek. It presents Slovak mountaineers, robbers and tinker craftsmen as symbolic of Slovaks. This image was created against the background of the building of Czech national identity, at a time when Hungarian Slovakia was part of Hungaria and the Czech lands were part of Austria. With the help of the Slavic, Detvian and Czechoslovak myths, which some Czech artists reflected and subsequently developed, the image of a weaker, friendly Slavic nation fighting against strong Hungarian oppression was created. Two non-art exhibitions that had their share in the perception of Slovakia by Czech artists - the Jubilee Exhibition and the Ethnographic Exhibition - are also set in the context of the Czech artistic milieu. The study also highlights the different interpretations at the time of the creation of the artworks, after the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic and after the communist takeover in the 1950s.
Vojtěch Hynais after his Return from Paris.
Kikoťová, Karolína ; Šámal, Petr (advisor) ; Dlábková, Markéta (referee)
This Bachelor's thesis commences by outlining the life of Vojtěch Hynais prior to his departure to Prague, delving into his mentors, the influences shaping the artist, and the pivotal works he produced during this period. The thesis then proceeds chronologically to the artist's arrival in Prague, addressing his integration into the Czech artistic scene, highlighted by the presentation of his painting The Judgment of Paris. One of the primary objectives of the thesis is to trace Hynais's activities as an architectural decorator and graphic designer, thereby emphasizing works of such nature. The thesis also considers significant portrait works and delineates the late phase of Hynais's oeuvre, which correlates with the dichotomy between progressiveness and conservatism, particularly within the context of academicism. In this context, the thesis also examines Hynais's pedagogical endeavors at the Prague Academy, revealing, among other aspects, the influence he exerted as a professor, not solely limited to the younger generation. The concluding section of the Bachelor's thesis aims to address the question of progressiveness versus conservatism in the body of work by Vojtěch Hynais.

Conditional discontinuance of criminal prosecution and settlement in prosecutorial practice - comparison At the outset, the first chapter outlines the possible alternatives in criminal proceedings and describes the principles of restorative justice. Following this, the thesis also elaborates on alternative sentences and alternatives to punishment, focusing on diversions. This thesis deals mainly with two diversions in criminal proceedings, which are conditional discontinuance of prosecution and settlement. These diversions are defined and compared using the method of literature search. The second chapter is devoted in detail to the legal conditions for the application of the CDCP. In particular, it discusses in more detail the concept of the offence, the circumstances of the accused's confession and his consent to the application of the CDCP. This chapter also discusses the obligation of the accused to compensate for the damage and to hand over the unjust enrichment and, last but not least, a part is also devoted to the specification of when the application of the CDCP can be considered a sufficient solution. Subsequently, the third chapter is again theoretical and describes the settlement in more detail. It first compares which conditions are the same for a CDCP and a settlement and then discusses...
The Principle of Subsidiarity of Criminal Repression
Brodňan, Zdeněk ; Šámal, Pavel (advisor) ; Mulák, Jiří (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with one of the key principles of criminal law - the principle of subsidiarity of criminal repression. This principle, now expressly formulated in Section 12 Subsection 2 of the Criminal Code, is the subject of interest of both legal theory and application practice. The research tries to answer the questions whether the current enshrinement of the principle of subsidiarity of criminal repression in the Criminal Code is necessary, whether the wording used is appropriate and whether this principle of application practice is handled appropriately. The thesis is divided into two parts: The first one deals with the theoretical definition of the examined principle and the concepts related to it. In the second part, specific practical cases are presented, which affect the principle of subsidiarity of criminal repression, and the methods of solving these cases are then compared with the conclusions made in the theoretical part. In the theoretical part, we first proceeded to an analysis of the professional literature that deals with this topic. This analysis first focuses on the legal regulation, where the concepts and conceptions of the crime are examined according to the current regulation and according to the previous regulation. Attention is also paid to distinguishing between...

The Battle of Abukir by Antoine-Jean Gros and her "second life".
Lembaková, Valerie ; Prahl, Roman (advisor) ; Šámal, Petr (referee)
Chromolithographic reproduction experienced a significant boom during the 19th century, both domestically and internationally. It gained considerable popularity, particularly in the realms of advertising and posters, thanks to its technique. Color lithography, specifically the four-color process, was frequently used, especially for reproducing oil paintings, representing a high technique of chromolithography. An example of this is a specific chromolithograph, printed on canvas, depicting "The Battle of Aboukir" by Antoine-Jean Gros from a private collection. The primary source for understanding successful contemporaries of Gros and the influence of their master, Jacques-Louis David, is Thomas Crown's publication "Emulation: Making Artists For Revolutionary France." A detailed report by Ann Friedman provides information on the origin and creation of the original artwork, based on which the reproduction was made. Discussions on various assumptions regarding the nature of the chromolithograph draw from consultations and perspectives of various art historians. Important sources include a restoration report and specialized articles focusing on color lithography in France, including specialized trade and reproductions of chromolithography. Based on these references, I will attempt to analyze the...

The thesis assumes that creditor behavior is based on the economic theory of human behavior, which is based on the assumption of rational behavior and the desire to maximize one's own benefit. The thesis consists of five main chapters. The first chapter focuses on the general meaning of creditors in the context of insolvency proceedings and the requirement for their plurality that arises from the definition of the shared goods problem. Next, the institute of secured creditor under Section 2(2)(g) of the IZ, which has a...
Cassation and appeal in the criminal procedure code
Podlucký, Jakub ; Šámal, Pavel (advisor) ; Říha, Jiří (referee)
Cassation and appeal in the criminal procedure code Abstract The principle of cassation and appeal are the two basic principles that govern corrective criminal proceedings. This thesis maps the rate of their occurrence in the current legal regulation of Czech criminal proceedings and proposals for regulation in the new criminal code, the adoption of which has been discussed very frequently in recent years. Today, we can no longer find the principle of cassation or appeal in its pure form in any remedy, but there is always a combination of both principles with the predominance of one of them. The thesis thus tries to find a suitable combination of these principles for individual remedies. The first part of this thesis deal with the position of the cassation and appeal principle in the system of principles that govern the Czech criminal procedure and defines the definition of the appeal and cassation principle in their pure form. The second part describes a historical excursion of the position of the appeal and cassation principle in the criminal codes valid on the territory of the current Czech Republic from 1873 to 2001. The third part of this thesis deals with the current legal regulation, in particular the definition of the current concept of individual principles, their advantages and disadvantages, and...
