Tato diplomová práce je souhrnným textem o chřástalovi polním - jeho morfologii, životním cyklu a prognózách vývoje chřástalí populace. Popisuje druhy ohrožení chřástala a největší rizika pro jeho vývoj a rozmnožování. Zabývá se způsoby ochrany chřástala v přírodě i národní a evropskou legislativou. Zároveň porovnává úroveň ochrany v některých státech světa. Dále charakterizuje populační trendy a výzkum chřástala v České republice. Přináší pohled na rozšíření a vývoj světové populace tohoto ohroženého druhu. Součástí práce je i dotazníkový výzkum provedený mezi žáky 2. stupně základní školy o znalosti chřástala polního. Výstupem dotazníku je populárněnaučný text pro základní školy "Chřástal polní - vzácný pták na louce za vaší zahradou".
Comparison of the Digestive Systems and Food Intake of the Angolan Colobus Monkey and Ruminant Even-toed Ungulates

The Dissertation treats the exacting wards of the zoological gardens - Colobus guereza, Colobus angolensis and Colobus polykomos. The first part summarizes the knowledge of breeding especially in our zoological gardens. Special attention is payed to feeding which is considered as a limiting factor of breeding. The following part compares morphology of the digestive tract of the Colobinae with the other herbivores and with the other monkeys, especially from the point of view of morphology. In the end of the Disseration, an informative experimental observation of cellulose (roughage) digestion is described. An Educational Project for a Field Seminar for Grammar Schools based on the Ecology and the Living Environment of Rakovnik

This thesis is supposed to offer all the background to the teachers of biology and ecology of the Grammar Schools in Rakovník for the conducting of a natural historical seminary which most often takes place in the forth grade with a view to ecology of Rakonik and its surroundings. The intention of this seminary is the expansion of now studied subject matter of ecology in the lessons of biology with a great emphasis on the connection of nature and ecology of Rakovník. Considering the fact that there are no publications that examine this problem from the whole the searching for information about Rakovník and its surroundings in different sources and its subsequent utilisation in lessons of biology and ecology was very complicated and troublesome for the teachers. This thesis aims to help the teachers with this problem. It expressively saves labour with the praparation for lessons and not only in above-mentioned seminary but also during the biology lessons in all grades. The connection of interpretation and the examples from the close surroundings can be a great motive to the students. This natural historical seminary also has another targets. 23/6/2011 Kosterní zbytky v potravě kalouse ušatého 7 jako ukazatele populačních změn drobných savců 1.2 Abstrakt v anglickém jazyce The diploma thesis is called Skeletal Remnants in Diet of Long-eared Owl Asio otus (Linnaeus, 1758) as The Indicators of Fluctuation in Size of Population of Small Mammals in Wintering Place in Kladno-Kročehlavy. The thesis deals with oversight of Long-eared Owl in his wintering site, analysis of his diet, and estimation of population changes in the diet of small vertebrate. It also consists of the estimation of changes in gender of small mammals and in the content of his diet, and of studies morphological traits done on pelvises of males and females of common vole. As part of didactic section there were laboratory exercises completed. The focus was on the analyses of pellets and the assignment of small vertebrates in the diet of Long-eared Owl. The main monitoring was completed in the period of autumn 2009 till the end of winter 2010. The results showed significant changes in the population of small mammals included in the diet of Long-eared Owl could bring new knowledge about population dynamics of small mammals. Behaviour of the Elephant ( Elephas maximus ) in ZOO Prague

This bachelor thesis describes daily routine and elements of social behavior of Asiatic Elephants in ZOO Praha. The observation period was from summer 2011 to spring 2012. The paper starts with Proboscidea literature analysis (history, occurrence, anatomy and reproduction). In the next part behavioral aspects are analyzed. At the end a summary of the research is presented. Daily manners of Prague elephants are compared to manners of elephants living in the open. The work is focused on myths which are known among our society. Presented information is supported by interview with elephant keeper from ZOO Praha. Flora of Jizera Mountains ecosystem and its use in biology education at secondary schools

Flora o f Jizera's Mountains ecosystem and its use in education of biology science at elementary schools and high schools is the topic of the gratuation thesis (dissertation). Theoretical part of the gratuation thesis (dissertation) includes a description of Jizera's Mountains to its regarding preserve space, botanic, zoology and geology. It also includes information about history, land, tourism, climate, typical ecosystems in Jizera's Mountains etc. The last chapter of theoretical part is addressed to research and monitoring of Jizera's Mountains. Research has been continuing under management of CHKO Jizera's Mountains. The main goal of the this gratuation thesis (dissertation) was to develop school project in area of botanic and ecology in one's behalf scholar 2. quadratic. This project should be realized in elementary schools and high schools located in Jizera's Mountains. The Moreever this project should be used as part of education in the class of biology science during the school year. This school project has five work sheets which are framed for neighborhood in elementary schools and high schools in the region of Jizera's Mountains. Long-eared owl (Asio otus) migration within Central Europe

The aim of the present thesis is to give a review of the ringing recoveries of the Long - eared owl (Asio otus) in the territory of the former Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic. The bird ringing data used in this thesis come from the archive of the National Museum in Prague. The parts of the thesis are as follows:1) history of the ringing in the Czech Republic; 2) bird adaptation on the flight and migration; 3) control of the migration; 4) the data of the Long- eared owls ringed as the young birds in the nest (pulli); 5) the data of the Long - eared owls ringed as adults (ad), that were caught and checked during their wintering in the Czech Republic; 6) the recoveries of the Long- eared owls ringed by various European Bird Ringing Centres and found in the Czech Republic; 7) cause of the mortality of the Long eared owl;8) census of the Long - eared owl recoveries in the Czech Republic from 1934 till 2011 (appendix). Birds in teaching at secondary schools with new knowledge in the field

In the introduction of theoretical part of diploma thesis is tabularly summed up the systém of birds classification. Other parts are focused not only on general issues and commonly used themes in school textbooks, popular literature and educational media, but also to highlight specific features, characteristic only for the birds. These themes are historical and evolutional questions, cover morphology, the effect of the senses, body structury and function of organs. In detail is analyzed the issue of body composition and skeletal system of birds. In the final sections are mentioned specialities in the behavior and communication between birds and their habits. The practical part includes a SWOT analysis of available textbooks for the four-year gymnasium with regard to the chapters and information about the animal class of birds. The data analyzed in the textbook can only be considered as basic with need to extend and complement by the teacher. Attached to the diploma thesis are two presentations in Powerpoint, containing basic information and specific features, characteristic only for birds. The presentations are created worksheets.
