Režňák, Jakub ; Čtrnáctová, Hana (advisor) ; Distler, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of teaching chemical calculations and with processing of this topic in chemistry textbooks and overviews for secondary grammar schools. The theoretical part consists of the summary of present valid Czech and selected international curricular documents and technical norms which deal with processing of chemical calculations. The aim of the practical part is the selection of criteria for analysis of content, extent and processing of chemical calculations, an analysis of individual textbooks and chemistry overviews, evaluation of the topic of chemical calculations in individual textbooks, comparison of textbooks and recommendation of suitable adjustments of processing of this topic.
Alternative pedagogical trends in chemistry education in Czech Republic
Dalíková, Martina ; Čtrnáctová, Hana (advisor) ; Janoušková, Svatava (referee)
The bachelor's dissertation named Alternative pedagogical way in education of chemistry aims to give an overview on alternative schools widespread in the Czech Republic. The work deals with a description and characteristics of chosen types of alternative schools and their methods which are used in education. The aim of the thesis itself is to provide an overall survey of the existing alternative methods of education and show their use in education of chemistry.
The Alchemy and its Use in Chemistry Teaching
Nývlt, Petr ; Čtrnáctová, Hana (advisor) ; Solárová, Marie (referee) ; Rychtera, Jiří (referee)
The dissertation deals with the usability of alchemy in chemistry education at secondary schools - especially grammar schools. In the research part it monitors the differences in educational outcomes for pupils who performed the same experiment with the alchemical approach and those who did it in the classical manner. The basic objective was to confirm or refute the benefits of a completely different approach to the experiment - an alchemical way. The starting point of the paper is alchemy itself. First, it was necessary to describe it and then find and define what is useful in teaching. I chose its spiritual dimension. This phenomenon is then transformed into the framework of pedagogical-psychological speech in order to set a certain didactic method on that basis that will be accessible to pupils, realizable at schools and efficient. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of alchemy in particular. It is based on the research available in Czech and world literature. It monitors the evolution of alchemy from its ancient beginnings to the 20th century because the development of this doctrine is as important as its foundations themselves for its definition. Given that there is currently no clear view of alchemy in terms of its true objectives, the paper watches both physical and contemplative...
Inquire-Based Science Education in General and Inorganic Chemistry
Zámečníková, Veronika ; Čtrnáctová, Hana (advisor) ; Ganajová, Mária (referee) ; Kričfaluši, Dana (referee)
This thesis deals with the possibility of implementing Inquiry-Based Science Education (IBSE) into teaching practice mainly at elementary schools. The focus is put on teaching general and inorganic chemistry. The theoretical part consists of the conceptual apparatus and research methodology related to implementation of IBSE activities into teaching. It also discusses how important may implementing of the IBSE principles be for supporting the student interest in science and for upgrading their scientific abilities which may make it easier in future to put the young generation into practice. Another chapter describes current situation in practical application of the IBSE in Czech Republic. It summarizes basic theories and experience with introducing IBSE into classrooms. The thesis also analyses the selection of curriculum suitable for applying IBSE in chemistry and chemistry didactics. The practical part of the thesis incorporates educational documents for working within IBSE principles and gives an overview of results of author's own research, realized between 2014 - 2016. The research was focused on attitude of students towards chemistry and its evolution after implementing the IBSE principles. Based on results of this research, specific drafts of IBSE implements are rendered for general and inorganic...
Multicomponent learning tasks in chemistry
Trčková, Kateřina ; Solárová, Marie (advisor) ; Čtrnáctová, Hana (referee) ; Sirotek, Vladimír (referee)
The main goal of this dissertation was to create and verify own multicomponent tasks of interdisciplinary character based on analysis of types of tasks occured in international research. Newly created multicomponent learning tasks were classified by task type, solution form, cognitive demands and task variety. Tasks of the same form were ordered to pairs, their difficultness, vulnerability and rate of success were verified. Multicomponent learning tasks were assigned verbally or nonverbally (charts, tables or pictures). Closed jobs (ordering items, matching items, multiple choice questions, true/false questions) and open jobs (wide-answer items, short-answer items) were used in complex of tasks. Rate of success of individual tasks was processed by non-parmetric statistical Wilcoxon test based on form, gender and type of study. Research survey was complemented by pupils' self- reflection questionnaires and teachers'questionnaires about testing process. Key words Multicomponent learning task, taxonomy of learning task, scientific literacy, reading literacy, self-reflective questionnaire.
Chemistry - Physics relatives in the Science education
Konečný, Martin ; Čtrnáctová, Hana (advisor) ; Teplá, Milada (referee)
Title: Chemistry - Physics Relatives in the Science Education Department: Department of Teaching and Didactics of Chemistry Abstract (in English): Within the master's degree thesis was conducted a literary research. Overview of interdisciplinary relatives in science education was done based on this research. The interdisciplinary relatives are described in the work as well as a historical development of integrated science education in the Czech Republic and in Europe. Three teaching tasks were created for use in science lessons with the following topics: The universe evolution and formation of elements, Luminescence, and The substance composition. Teaching tasks can be used during the class work or as a material for talented students and have both theoretical and practical parts. The teaching tasks were evaluated by teachers who used them during their chemistry lessons. The final part of the master thesis is a survey, in which teachers answered the questions concerning the establishing of new conference called "Chemistry Teachers' Inventions Fair" for secondary school and high school teachers. Keywords: interdisciplinary relatives, physics, chemistry, science eduaction, integrated teaching
Survey of the pupil's skills by PISA-research connected with IBSE
Pražienka, Miroslav ; Čtrnáctová, Hana (referee)
CHARLES UNIVERSITY IN PRAGUE - Faculty of Science Department of Teaching and Didactics of Chemistry Albertov 3, 128 40 Praha 2, Czech Republic Survey of the pupils' skills according to PISA-reserch connected with Inquiry Based Science Education Mgr. Miroslav Pražienka prazienkam@gymlovo.cz The described topic of the testing of the pupils and modern methods of teaching the science subjects connect two trends in Czech and European schools. Nowadays the methods of the modern education have been promoted in the proces of preparation of the future teachers but also in the lifelong learning of the teachers. The thesis is focused on Inquiry Based Science Education. This modern method is connected with the international testing PISA and is described in theoretical part. Both are integrated in practical part and testing. After careful studying of materials and the method of PISA, there were elaborated the testing tasks with inquiry skills for experimental part of this work. After the first trial testing, the materials were modified and prepared for real testing. The testing was carried out on four schools (secondary school near Prague, grammar schools in Prague and in Lovosice), four classes and 101 fifteen- years-old pupils were included. The results of the testing were represented in graphs and discussed....
New trends in the Science education at primary schools
Hlavová, Lucie ; Čtrnáctová, Hana (advisor) ; Zámečníková, Veronika (referee)
The present diploma thesis concentrates on the usage of inquiry based education in the primary stage of education in the course of teaching science. Attention is firstly given to the students' skills which this type of education utilizes and without which it would be impossible to apply it in practice. These skills are analyzed on a theoretical level and consequently, by means of a didactic test, are practically tested with pupils at primary school level. Another part of the thesis are materials for selected science topics which evolve from the inquiry based education principle. The topics are chosen in accord with the official educational programme of the Czech education systém and contribute towards a more effective educational process and the heightening of the interest of students in science.
