Soil gel as a suitable matrix for the study of humic substances in the soil ecosystem

This master's thesis deals with a complex issue of soil gels. The main goal of this work is to optimize the process of isolation of soil gels out of the soil matrix. Isolation is carried out using only water and therefore represents a promising method for study of humic substances (HS) in natural form. Modal brown earth from the area of Veverské Kninice was used as a soil matrix for isolation. The isolated soil gel was phisicochemically characterized by thermal and spectroscopic methods. By using EA and TGA, the content of biogenic elements in the organic component of soil gel and the content of the inorganic component was determined. The inorganic component represents a majority share in structure of soil gel with values up to 90 % w/w. Mineralogical composition of the inorganic component was described using XRD, with quartz being the most represented. Chosen macro and microelements were determined by ICPOES and the results show a noticeable increase in the content of some elements, that form complexes with HS. Organic component was studied using spectroscopic methods FTIR and XPS, which clearly showed that the primary components of the organic matrix are HSs. For this reason, absorption coefficients EET/EBZ, E2/E3 a E2/E4 were determined using UV/Vis spectrometry. Morphology of isolated soil gels was studied by using SEM and the photographs show mineral particles covered with clusters of humic matrix.
Isolation and fractionation methods for determination of humic substances content in South Moravian lignite

This bachelor thesis focuses on isolation and fractionation of humic substances (HS) from the natural matrix of lignite, which comes from southern Moravia from the mine Mír Mikulčice. In the theoretical part, it informs the reader about the issue, starting with information about lignite and HS. In this work, the standard procedure of isolation and fractionation of HS was used as according to the International Humic Substances Society (IHSS). The content of HS in the natural matrix of lignite was determined, and then isolated HS were subjected to physicochemical characterization – elemental analysis (EA), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), UV/Vis spectrometry, infrared spectrometry with Fourier transformation (FTIR) and the acidity of humic acids (HA) was determined by potentiometric titration. EA was used to detemine the content of biogenic elements, moisture and ash content were determined by TGA. By using FTIR, various functional groups and building blocks that are present in supramolecules of HS were indentified and absorption coefficients EET/EBT, E2/E4, E2/E3 a E4/E6 were determined by UV/Vis spectrometry. Results represent good characterization of HS isolated from lignite and are in agreement with scientific literature.

THE CROSS OF QUEEN DAGMAR

At the end of the 17th century, a small enameled cross was discovered in one of the royal graves in Saint Bendt's church in Danish Ringsted. According to the record of the administrator of the Danish Royal Treasury, the cross was found in the grave of the Danish Queen Dagmar - the daughter of the King of Bohemia, Ottokar I (+1230). Dagmar was married in 1205 to Valdemar II the Victorious, the King of Denmark. The cross - today exhibited at the National Museum in Copenhagen - is undoubtedly a Byzantine work. Most probably, it was made in the first half of the 12th century. It is so- called enkolpion, i.e. the hanging cross (gr. Έγϰόλπιου, on the chest). Both its sides are decorated with figurative scenes. The crucifixion of the Christ is depicted on one side. The Great Deēsis with St. Basil the Great and St. John Chrysostom is shown on the other side. There is a hollow in the body of the cross, in which a relic was deposited - most likely a particle of the wood of the True Cross. Although the Queen Dagmar's Cross is considered a national treasure in Denmark, only a little attention has been paid to it so far. The Franciscan Bible from the National Museum Library in Prague (XII.B.13) Within the Context of 13th Century Painting The painted miniatures decorating the so-called Franciscan Bible (Prague, KNM XII.B.13), which dates in around the 1270s, illustrate the development of painting in Central Europe during the transition period between Late Romanesque and Gothic style. Illuminations in the Franciscan Bible are the work of four masters, the first of whom illustrated the Old Testament, and the latter three worked on the New Testament. The style of the illuminations places its authors firmly in the circle of artists drawing inspiration from the workshop of Giovanni da Gaibana. The Gaibanesque style is characterized by using traditional local motifs, with elongated tails expanding into the borders. Color tones gradually shift toward the cooler palette; form tends toward more schematic drawings and simplified shapes; imitation of Western style is characterized by gradual abandonment of heavy impasto modeling. Duty of due managerial care of memeber of an elective body of a limited company

IN ENGLISH The purpose of this paper is to analyse all segments of the duty of due managerial care of member of an elective body of a limited company and propose de lege ferenda approach to segments of the duty. Another goal of this master's thesis was to examine new business judgment rule and present an alternative British model of the rule. To provide a comparative approach the paper utilizes the British company law approach. The first chapter introduces the origin of the duty of due managerial care, in particular its roots in Roman law and Austrian civil code. The second chapter is divided into five subchapters. The first subchapter highlights the recent changes to the duty of due managerial care after recodification of private law. The second subchapter examines duty of care as one of two integral parts of the duty of due managerial care. Firstly, it analyzes the quality of care expected of directors. Secondly, it focuses on the test for determination of necessary standard of care. Thirdly, following a critical examination of the test for determination of a standard of care, the paper suggests de lege ferenda test of due care.
