Hotel "U Prehrady"
Černý, Dávid ; Nováková, Eva (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis was to process the study and the design documentation for a newly built hotel in Brno, in city district “Kníničky” near the artificial dam “Přehrada” in a rest area. The hotel will serve as temporary accommodation for up to 64 hotel guests in single, double and four bed rooms. The object also contains training rooms, offices, a meeting room, a café, a small grocery store and a restaurant with kitchen. Parking is possible in one of the two mass garages and there is an outdoor parking possibility in front of the hotel too. The building has a cast-in-place concrete frame with longitudinal beams and sway bracings. The external wall consists of aerated concrete bricks with contact thermal insulation system ETICS (insulation material mineral wool), the ceilings will be cast-in-place reinforced concrete ceilings and the roof flat green roof or flat roof with gravel on it above the 5th floor. The foundation construction consists of reinforced concrete foundation strips, which expand to foundation pads under the load-bearing columns and will be supported by piled foundations under the most exposed elements. As long as the hotel is situated into a fairly steep slope, the vertical alignment of some building parts is various so part of the project is the design of landscaping works. Design documentation was processed using the program AutoCAD 2017, the study and the visualization using both SketchUp 2015, LayOut 2015 and Lumion 5.
Abortion laws in Czechoslovakia in 1950-1986
Černý, David ; Marková, Alena (advisor) ; Vávra, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis analyses the legislation governing interruptions in Czechoslovakia in the time frame between 1950 and 1986 when this legislation went through many changes. The thesis studies consequences of these changes, their influence on the population in Czechoslovakia and even opinions of its inhabitants living in above mentioned time period. The thesis focuses also on so called "interruption commission"; institutions of former Czechoslovakia, which used to decide about the future of unwanted pregnancies. One part of this diploma thesis is also dedicated to the development and accessibility of contraceptives, which were directly influenced by the legislation.
Landfilling legislation
Černý, David ; Sobotka, Michal (advisor) ; Humlíčková, Petra (referee)
Abstract AJ The goal of this thesis is to thoroughly chart the problem of waste management in Czech Republic and the European Union and to outline legal and economic situation in waste treatment and in its alternatives. This thesis deals with different types of landfills, their technical aspects and methods of depositing waste. The thesis also tries to point out material and energetic use of waste before landfilling. Recycling is considered to be important because it decreases the amount of waste stored in landfills. Composting and anaerobic digestion are the other methods of disposal. The thesis also describes the possibilities of usage of the landfill gasses with the help of cogeneration units. The thesis refers to current level of waste landfilling in the Czech Republic and in other countries of the European Union. Key words: waste management, landfilling, landfills, waste sorting, material recovery from waste, recycling, composting, energy recovery from waste, incineration,
The Principle of Double Effect
Černý, David ; Payne, Jan (advisor) ; Machula, Tomáš (referee) ; Vohánka, Vlastimil (referee)
The principle of double effect has a very long history and continues to play an important role in ethical and bioethical discussions. However, the principle has been subject of incessant debates in the last few decades and many ethicists and bioethicists have explicitly denied its validity and applicability to solving important moral dilemmas. Many authors endorsing consequentialism have claimed that the principle of double effect, based on an intention-sensitive ethics, is not valid as a moral principle. Their rejection of the validity of this principle follows a well- established ethical tradition according to which intentions have no role in the moral evaluation of human actions. This dissertation has three overall aims: i) It aims at showing, in the course of textual analysis and interpretation of Aquinas's œuvre complete, that Thomas Aquinas was indeed the first author who explicitly discusses actions with one good and one bad effect and can be therefore considered the founding father of all subsequent moral tradition endorsing the principle of double effect. ii) Secondly, it demonstrates that from a historical point of view it is inadequate to continue to talk about "the principle of double effect". In the moral tradition from 13th century to present days more than one principle of double effect...

Organic wastes represent available replacement for crops grown specifically for biofuel production. However, the combustion of solid biofuels is often accompanied by technical problems. Biofuels made of organic wastes require the source of which do not contain hazardous substances that could be their combustion in simple combustion sources came into the atmosphere as emissions. This thesis is focused on the assessment of technical and operational parameters of small combustion plants while burning biofuels and also of the measurement of emission concentrations of CO and NOX in the flue gas and its subsequent analysis. Samples were selected as solid fuel in the form of a lump, briquettes and pellets made from advanced materials. Incineration was realized in the fireplace with a grate furnace and automatic stove. The bark briquettes could appears to be a suitable substitution for coal or wooden briquettes, and during combustion in grate emission concentrations of CO were achieved with a value of 560.8 +/- 98.9 mg.m-3,on the contrary NOX levels were relatively high 1 193.6 +/- 141.7 mg.m-3. In case of this work, when using the furnace the briquettes were made from compost , whose emission levels are higher: CO 1 487.8 +/- 418.8 mg.m-3, NOx levels were somewhat lower 330.8 +/- 26.3 mg.m-3 than the briquettes bark. An experimental sample of sewage sludge, which has been modified by hydrothermal carbonisation, was burned on the grate furnace and the measured emission levels for CO 1 493.3 +/- 237.3 mg.m-3 and NOX levels 544.8 +/- 20.2 mg.m-3, positive because it was achieved the rated output of the combustion equipment and the heat of combustion of the sample is very low 12.61 MJ.kg-1. The most efficient combustion of 80.8 +/- 2,7 % was achieved using automatic stove, during burning waste wood pellets certificate ENplus A1, the very low levels of emission and a very low emission levels for CO with a value of 117.5 +/- 14.4 mg.m-3 and values NOX 110.3 +/- 2.9 mg.m-3 were measured. Following experiments on this device were intended to increase the efficiency of a combustion plant by installing a hot-air heat exchanger and preheating combustion air. Method with preheating combustion air caused an increase in the emission concentration of CO.
Automation of the cultivation process in term of pH factor and nutrient content in substrate
Černý, David ; Papežová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Volf, Jaromír (referee)
The main goal of thesis is creation of the automatic growroom and realisation of the controller. The controller will be able for measurement temperature, pH and pH of soil. The soil pH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity in soils. The other part is about measurement of pH and conductivity. The practical part begun with measurement of pH by laboratory pH meter. These measured figures I compared with figures measured with my pH meter created by my own. The other part describe realisation of my own pH meter and control software. The pH meter was fully managed and also was created describtion for the growroom.
Detached house
Černý, Dávid ; Majsniar, Michal (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The subject of this bachelors thesis was to design a single-family house in Brno Mokrá Hora and process the study and the design documentation for this house. Part of it will serve as permanent housing for a 4 member family and the second part as a distribution point for an online shop with 2 employees. The walls will consist of sand-lime bricks with an additional contact thermal insulation system ETICS, the ceiling will be reinforced concrete constructions and the house will have a walkable flat green roof. Part of the documentation is also the modification design of the surrounding terrain and the design of the car park for 2 cars and 1 light commercial vehicle. An interesting design choice is the height level of the roof, which is situated in the same level as the local road. Design documentation was processed using the program AutoCAD, the study and the visualization using both ArchiCAD and Artlantis 5.
