The transformation of publishing house Economia into multimedia organization

The diploma thesis summaries the transformation of publishing house Economia during the period July 2013 and December 2014. The aim of the transformation was to change Economia as a traditional publishing house focused on the print newspapers into multimedia organization. The thesis describes main changes in within the publishing house - foundation of integrated newsroom, acquisition and integration of Centrum Holdings company, integration of separated newsrooms, creating the digital versions of traditional newspapers, launching of new media types, changing the business models, innovation of traditional titles, developing of new job positions and new projects using more of the different departments of the publishing house. The thesis focuses mainly on changes on the editorial level; the chapters on integration of Centrum Holdings are being considered also from the aspect of management and human resources level. Interviews with the managers of Economia publishing house are the valuable part of the case study. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis sorts the trends and challenges that are faced by traditional publishing houses. The influence of electronic distribution of periodicals on print journalism

The bachelor thesis named The influence of electronic distribution of periodicals on print journalism deals with the specifics of electronic distribution, its position among other new media and its relation towards traditional media. This document focuses mainly on the question whether electronic distribution while combining principles of both internet and print journalism can influence the future of print media - its form or even existence. Other hypothesis presented by this document inspects the possibility of utilizing an electronic periodical for saving an unprofitable print version of given periodical - film monthly Svět filmu is used as an example. Both principles of electronic distribution and Svět filmu functioning are being inquired with support of depth interviews with major Czech electronic distribution services representatives and Svět filmu representatives respectively. In addition this work offers a overview of Czech electronic distribution services and examples of digital periodicals. In order to provide complete context a brief description of situation of electronic distribution in other countries is included and listed hypotheses are supplemented by interviews-based prognostic speculations concerning electronic distribution's future and impact on print distribution.
Media promotion of a music festival on social networks and internet

I have chosen the topic of my thesis - music festivals promotion on social networks and the Internet - for one simple reason. I have been interested in the activities and events on the music scene for a long time, I am a team member of the band Wohnout and in the summer festivals are my daily bread. As soon as the weather gets warmer, the music business begins producing different events in large quantities. Every week dozens of various concerts and music events take place all around the country, ranging from small local ones to large cultural events of nationwide importance. The aim of my thesis is to describe the way a festival " gets to people" in general, but concentrate also to how new media (especially internet and social sites) changed the way of promotion of music festival a their communication with their visitors.

Diploma thesis The new shape of journalism in the magazine Respekt after format change deals with progress of news magazine Respekt after transformation to colored magazine. However, it is not described the transformation itself but it deals with another five years after format change to research new shape of journalism in news magazine Respekt. The structure of topics is compared to find out the influence to circulation. The changes are analysed in three parts of my thesis. It is formed by theory, memories of participants and analytical part including analysis media agenda of Respekt. Results of the analysis are put into clear graphs and tables. The thesis is comprehensive view of news magazine Respekt passed for more than five years after his transformation.
Differences between czech printed car media and internet car media (based on magazine svet motoru and server auto.cz)

The aim of this thesis Differences between Czech automotive printed and online media (based on magazine Svět motorů and server Auto.cz) is to find and describe the differences between online and print automotive media. The thesis defines the basic concepts which are characteristic for the issue, dissertates about the history of both titles and about their current market position and summarizes the findings of media experts about differences between online and print media. The focus of the work is content analysis, comparing the monitored titles. Based on this comparison, the work seeks to identify differences between the observed titles in practice.
Media misdirection regarding to the introduction of iphone 5 and its impacts on Apple Inc

The Bachelor thesis focuses on the event of 4 October 2011, the new Apple - iPhone 4S was introduced in Cupertino, California. Although Apple never made a formal statement on what model of phone will be introduced, media brought false information that it is going to be the new generation - iPhone 5. Therefore, when Apple introduced only upgraded model of the current iPhone 4 - iPhone 4S, it has brought many disappointed reactions from customers, fans and shareholders of the company itself, who believed in the misleading information reported in the media. The thesis examines, using quantitative content analysis, how some media mystified the public. The above example demonstrates what the impact of such fictitious messages on our society really is.
Use of social networks in improving communication with the readershiip on examle of IHNED.cz

Social network sites (and new media in general) transform the relationship between professional media organizations and their audiences. My bachelor thesis "Use of social networks in improving communication with the readership on example of IHNED.cz" focuses on how the media use pages or accounts on social network websites Facebook and Twitter in order to communicate with their readership in real time. In the first, theoretical, part, I define the notion of social networks and describe the history and functioning of the most widespread social network sites, with particular emphasis on Facebook and Twitter. The basis of the thesis also touches on the description of the possibilities and mechanisms of usage of social network sites in terms of the news media. In the research segment of the thesis I examine the activity of the Czech news server IHNED.cz on social network sites Facebook and Twitter by means of quantitative analysis. The intention is to detect what content is offered to fans (followers) of IHNED.cz, whether it evokes a response in them and to what extent IHNED.cz is communicating with its readers through social network sites. Social media and its part in informing about Egyptian revolution

This thesis deals with the topic of social media in the context of the Egyptian revolution in 2011. The aim is to offer two diverse views on the perception of the role of social media as a facilitator of political and social change in Egypt. The first part deals with the actual pro-democracy role of social media resulting from online activities of Egyptian activist community. The second part offers a view of this fact through raw data showing the involvement of social media in the Egyptian revolution 2011. Through the analysis of two global and one Czech online news site was investigated occurrence of mentions on all factors related to social media and online activism in Egypt. The results provide an idea of what space they were given in the online news in the context of revolutionary events in Egypt.

Every week dozens of various concerts and music events take place all around the country, ranging from small local ones to large cultural events of nationwide importance. The aim of my thesis is not only to describe the way a festival " gets to people" in general, but to show how cultural events and the media may be interconnected and how /or if they can profit from this cooperation. I was also trying to find out how the media partnership between a festival and a medium affects the content of the news related to the topic presented in the medium, and if there exist some unwritten rules that the two "partners" keep to and that could be problematic from the point of view of journalism ethics.
