The Discovery of the East and Its Mysteries

I would like to, in my bachelor thesis preoccupied journeys of Czech travellers eastwards, during which they discovered Asia. I will focus mainly on Southeast Asia and if there is enough material on my homeland Vietnam. I would like to approach to the feeling of former travelers and the perception of newly discovered Asian world. I'm interested in conflict and the spread of Christianity that brings travelers with Buddhism and its habits. I would like to devote one chapter also to compared two religions and their popularity at that time among the inhabitants of Asia. I'm also interested in which acceptance did travelers get from residents of Asia. I will also focused on the international trade between continents, because Asia was for Europe oriental kingdom for business. Maybe in one chapter I would like to compare the mentality of European man and an Asian man. The aim of this thesis will bet he rediscovery of the East using the surviving sources. And understanding the idea for travelers to expense on this journey.
Spain of Charles V from The Perspective of Spanish and Foreign Historiography

Eva Samková: Španělsko Karla V. pohledem španělské a zahraniční historiografie bakalářské práce Abstract Bachelor thesis "Spain of Charles V in the vision of the Spanish and foreign historiography" focuses on the person and government of Emperor Charles V in Spain in the years 1516- 1556. The aim of the thesis is to compare texts, ideas and theories in the works of historians engaged in European history of the 16th century and the person of the Emperor Charles V. Specifically, the works of the Spanish historian M. F. Álvarez (Biografia de una nacion. Madrid 2010), German historians K. Brandi (Emperor Charles V. The growth and destiny of a man and of a world-empire. London 1968) and F. Seibt (Charles V. Emperor and the Reformation. Prague 1999), Austrian historian F. Heer (European spiritual history. Prague 2000) and international collection of essays, whose editor is H. Soly (Charles V. 1500-1558 and his time. Antverps) 1999). First is introduction to the life and personality of Charles V in the brief biography and a further follow excerpts from each studied books, supplemented by quotations from the original text. Finally, the actual comparison of the aforementioned literature.
The holy queen Elisabeth? The metamorphose and idealisation of a Bohemian queen's image

The thesis is devoted to Eliška Přemyslovna, the Czech Queen, and deals with the topic from several points of view. Besides her historical image created on the basis of historical, mainly narrative sources, aim is to capture also the transformation of the image in the example of godly woman and female saint, especially in the context of today's pursuit of her beatification. In this context, the historical origins of idealization of Queen Eliška which accompanied the beatification process already in the High Middle Ages will also be looked for. Another goal is to probe into the cause of canonization of medieval noble ladies and monarchs and recently canonized saints Czech and Moravian and to follow transformations of this process from the Middle Ages to the present. The attention will also be paid to motivation of current effort for beatification of Eliška.
Jiří Černý and Music Journalism During the Normalization

Bachelor thesis Jiří Černý and music journalism during the normalization covers in its introduction the definition of the terms 'journalism' and 'music criticism' themselves. Further attention is paid to the history of music criticism and its historical development. The following part of the paper addresses the individual decades from 60's to 80's. It depicts the political context and music, especially the rock scene in the particular periods. Another significant subject of the paper is the tough living of music periodicals in the totalitarian regime. Emphasis is put on music journalist Jiří Černý who was prevented from free engagement in the media due to ideological reasons. The chapter mentions his programmes Antidiskotéka and Dvanáct na houpačce the latter of which was later prohibited by the regime. The aim of this thesis is the analysis of the normalization regime influence on music journalism production.

The diploma thesis will focus on the exhibition activities of institutes of the Czechoslovakian Academy of Sciences (ČSAV) from the 1970s until nowadays exhibition activities of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (AV ČR). The institutes of the ČSAV were among a few places where unofficial and often also politically undesirable artists could exhibit their work. One of the main chapters in my thesis will deal with the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, in particular, where exhibitions in the entrance hall are still held until nowadays. Furthermore I will focus on architect of The Macromolecular institute and the artists whose work has been presented here, eg. V. Boštík, A. Šimotová, O. Zoubek etc., as well as the particular places serving as alternative galleries. The aim of my thesis will be also showing the function of those places in these days and investigating the overall public interest in the cultural activities of the AV ČR. Everyday life in the early modern culture from the perspective of Zuzana Černínová

In my diploma thesis, I will deal with the life of Zuzana Černínová, Czech noblewoman, wife of Jan Černín from Chudenice and mother of Humprecht Jan Černín. My aim will be to approach everyday life in the early modern culture, particularly in period of Bílá hora, through Zuzana Černínová, and her numerous correspondence with her son, which has been largely preserved and was published by František Dvorský and Zdeněk Kalista. From the comprehensive correspondence, I set apart the main topics that have become the base of my thesis. I will divide my thesis into two parts. In the first part I will deal with the definition of the term "everyday life" and here I will interpret all important life events such as birth, marriage, death and funeral, where I will focus closely on Zuzana Černínová and her family. In relation to these life events I will also include the widow's dowry and the legal requirements associated with it or the influence of illnesses on contemporary society. In the second part of my research, I will focus on the person of Zuzana Černínová. I am going to analyze her position of the noblewoman which changed before and after the death of her husband, the rights she acquired after the death of her husband and her situation. Czech folk scene and political persecution after 1977

Thesis Czech folk scene and political persecution after 1977, deals with the events in Czechoslovakia folk music scene after the release of Charter 77. Thesis is focused on members of the folk group Šafrán (Saffron). Studied period of time is placed between 1977 and the first half of the 80s in Czechoslovakia. Thesis is divided into two parts. Introduction of the thesis and its first part is dedicated to the political and cultural situation of the 70s of the 20th century. The second part of the thesis describes the origin and development of folk music as an independent musical genre in Czechoslovakia. The main aim of the thesis is a partial depiction of life situation of folk singer-songwriters in the specified time period. Thesis is based on chosen musician's personal memories of political persecution, which was directed against their work as well. The final part of the thesis is dedicated to the development and course of the secret police Action Asanace (Redevelopment). The event had an impact not only on the personal lives of these artists, but also on the further development of folk music in the late 20th century in Czechoslovakia.

Master thesis Religious circumstances in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century will deal with religio-spiritual situation within czarist Russia since the dawn of 20th century till the rise of Bolshevik regime in 1917. It aims not only to analyse and describe religious circumstances of contemporary Orthodox church, but also reflect those circumstances in "minority" religious communities. It introduces the state at which the Orthodox church was at and enlighten the situation, that was influenced both by Russian course to industrial society and the outbreak of the First world war and revolution at 1917.
The History of Bukovec from the 18th to the Half of the 19th Century

The topic of the master thesis is the history of the village of Bukovec near Horšovský Týn, beginning with the early 18th century to the half of 19th century. The timeframe was chosen on the one hand with the consideration to the already written history of the village until the late 17th century, while the other boundary was defined by the revolutionary year of 1848, which brought major changes in the functioning of municipalities and their governments. Bukovec was a part of the large Trauttmansdorffs' dominion with its centre in Horšovský Týn throughout the specified period. It was also the seat of the parish: The analysis of manor and parish documents allows largely understand the social and economic ties within the village, and outline its historical development in the described period. The History of Religious Conquests in the Mělník Region in the Era of Peasant's Uprisings and their Reception in the Contemporary Literature

The subject of this thesis is the situation of our ancestors in the period before and during the peasant uprising in the 17th century and their fight for religious freedom in Mělník region. More specifically it deals with the analysis of the uprising process in the monitored area, but in the relation to neighboring regions and also with capturing the responses of these struggles in contemporary literature. This work, in the first chapter, describes a general order, which prevailed in the state and church during the 17th century, till the uprising of the peasants. In the second chapter, it describes more precisely prerequisites necessary for the emergence of the uprising and some of its aspects. Third chapter describes the progress of the uprising in the region of Mělník. The situation on individual manors is captured as described by preserved sources. Fourth Chapter is dedicated to the analysis of the literature, which reflects monitored period. Captures the feedback of the foreign press, which the uprising caused. Furthermore, there is discussed prose inspired by these historical events, as well as infrequent response captured in the poetry.
