The LiOh influence in alkaline accumulators
Prchal, Jiří ; Čech, Ondřej (referee) ; Pléha, David (advisor)
The deal of this thesis is study of the influence of LiOH added to electrolyte on Ni-Cd batteries. In theoretical part are analyzed properties of Ni-Cd accumulators in strong alkaline surroundings, especially with emphasis on structure changing of NiOH2 and NiOOH. In the second part of theoretical are also described methods for depositing Ni layers. In practical part electro-chemical spectrum and mass changing on Quartz crystal microbalance are measured by cyclic voltammetry method during charge/discharge process. The process of cation integration to the positive electrode structure in KOH, NaOH and CsOH electrolyte including related structural changes are observed.
The influence of iron on nickel accumulator charging
Mičák, Tomáš ; Čech, Ondřej (referee) ; Pléha, David (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is dealing with a problematics of iron influence on charging of accumulator, more precisely on its cathode. The theory describes comparision of an accumulators at our market, important properties of Ni-Cd accumulators, their function principle, events happening during charge-discharge cycles of Ni-Cd cells and measuring method that will be used to verify of the iron influence. The practical part deals with the influence of iron on the development of oxygen during process of battery charging, on how iron affects the potential shift of oxygen gassing and how temperature affects this event.
Measurement of dielectric properties of liquid fuels for automotive power units
Redr, Martin ; Čech, Ondřej (referee) ; Chladil, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis dealt with measuring of dielectric properties of propellants. The aim of the thesis was to find out differences between dielectric quantities of propellants from various manufacturers and in different proportions of refined to so-called bio-components. The theoretical physical principles of dielectric substances – permittivity and dissipation factor were described. In the thesis the most famous electrical insulation fluids whose dielectric characteristics are similar as propellants were mentioned. Furthermore, the study about dielectric properties of propellants and chosen fuels on the Czech market were mentioned. In the experimental part of the thesis, selected fuel samples at varying frequency and temperature were measured. These results were then evaluated and compared.
Advanced carbon structures as a material for Na-ion batteries
Bečan, Jan ; Čech, Ondřej (referee) ; Kazda, Tomáš (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the description of individual types of batteries. The first part is focused to primary and secondary batteries, materials for their positive and negative electrodes with a focus on lithium-ion batteries and their changes over time. The next section focuses on a more detailed description of sodium-ion batteries, used electrode materials and to their problems. Practical part is focesed to preparing of electrode materials and to completing of measuring electrochemical cell and to discribing of measuring methodes and to evaluation of measured data.
Analysis of parameters influencing the properties of batteries in space applications
Redek, Lukáš ; Čech, Ondřej (referee) ; Kazda, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis is focused on analysis of the parametres influencing the properties of batteries in space applications, especialy at low temperatures. Theoretical part contains the basic issues of technology, basic concepts and knowlege. In the main part of this work is measurement and evaluation of low temperature influence on basic electrical properties of batteries.
Preparation of electrodes of Li-S batteries using inversely vulcanized sulfur
Trochta, David ; Kunický, Daniel (referee) ; Čech, Ondřej (advisor)
This work focuses on research of lithium-sulfur batteries, which are a promising battery type due to their theoretically high capacity and low environmental impact. Steering away from the commonly used elementary sulfur as the electroactive material of the cathode, inversely vulcanized sulfur with amorphic structure was utilized instead, while the manufacturing process of which was improved and optimized during the research. A series of samples of inversely vulcanized sulfur was synthesised, each containing a different ratio of the input precursors. X-ray diffraction was used to verify the amorphic structure of the material, which simultaneously also ruled out the presence of crystalline sulfur. Additionally, this work presents the results of Raman spectroscopy. At the same time, the possibility of utilization of Raman spectroscopy to identify the exact quantitative ratios of the used precursors was presented for the first time. Specific samples were also handpicked to undertake a dissolution test involving procedural solvents. Electrodes for electrochemical cells (Li-S battery) were manufactured based upon the knowledge gathered. The distribution homogeneity of the electroactive material of the electrode was observed through creation of an elemental map using the EDS technique. Electrochemical characterization of the selected inversely vulcanized sulfur electrode samples was measured using various methods: cyclical voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and galvanostatic cycling with potential limitation.
Composite electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries based on LiFePO4 prepared using GAC method
Vilhelm, Ondřej ; Neoral, Jiří (referee) ; Čech, Ondřej (advisor)
Presented work investigates the problem of secondary lithium-ion cells and the different available cathode materials. We have prepared samples of LiFePO4 with the addition of different kinds of carbon materials such as Super P, Vulcan and expanded graphite. We have always created the sample with and without surfactant. Developed samples were compared by measuring electrochemical methods (cyclic voltammetry, charge and discharge cycles and impedance spectroscopy). We also modeled the three-point cell for measuring electrochemical electrode materials.

A reader of this thesis is introduced into basic think about Internet of Things initiation, is informed about elementary meteorologic terminology, about meteorologic units and about their processing. The reader will also read about possible variant of IoT weather station design solution including hardware and software outputs, including guidelines and descriptions related to the design and including final summary of the problematics.
Thermovision of photovoltaic modules authomatic analysis
Klíma, Jakub ; Čech, Ondřej (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with diagnostics of photovoltaic panels especially with infrared diagnostics. There are described defects which we can examine using thermovision and also this thesis explains the cause of their formation. Practical part deals with the design of the program that automatically detects defects on infrared images.
Preparation of Epoxy Based Insulating Materials Filled by Nanoparticles
Mockovčiak, Kristian ; Čech, Ondřej (referee) ; Chladil, Ladislav (advisor)
The present thesis deals with the preparation of epoxy insulating materials filled with nanoparticles and its electrical properties. Experimental samples are made of epoxy resin as a matrix and titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2) as nanofillers in 0.5, 1 and 3 percent filling. Temperature dependencies of internal resistivity, relative permittivity and loss factor are measured on nanocomposite samples. The influence of the filler on the resulting electrical properties of the polymer used is discussed.
