Raw materials of Manětín area and their presentation in the form of educational patthway
Čada, Martin ; Přikryl, Richard (advisor) ; Matějka, Dobroslav (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the geological history (Late Proterozoic to Quaternary) of the Manětín Permian-Carboniferous basin. It also studies the historical and present use of raw materials (ores, non-metallics, caustobiolites) in the Manětín area, the northern part of the Plzeň-sever district. In appendix, information panels of the educational pathway are proposed. The Manětín basin consists of two structural levels. The lower one (Proterozoic metapelites) forms the base of the basin. The upper one (Permian-Carboniferous clastic sedimentary rocks) is the filling of the basin. There are also a few Proterozoic and Tertiary volcanic bodies. In the past, ore deposits (gold, silver, iron) had been exploited in the Manětín area. Non-metallics (glass sand, ocher, pyrite-slate, roof-slate, structural clay products, arkose) had been largely used, too. There was only a small scale extraction of caustobiolites (humites). Today's extraction is focused on natural stone (crushed stone) only (Zahrádka and Březín deposits). The proposal of the educational pathway contains seven information boards, that show the geological history of the Manětín basin and the use of local mineral raw materials (gold, slate, natural stone) with it's influence on the landscape, society and industry, particularly glass production. Study of the Chemical Oxygen-iodine Laser with the production of atomic iodine from gaseous compounds
Picková, Irena ; Tichý, Milan (advisor) ; Čada, Martin (referee) ; Krčma, František (referee)
This work deals with the study of dissociation of iodine molecule for Chemical and Discharge Oxygen-Iodine Laser. Chemical way of HI dissociation and discharge way of dissociation of CH3I and CF3I molecules is examined. Main diagnostics method is absorption spectroscopy. Part of the work is also the modeling of system of chemical reactions. Last part of this work is dealing with the study of plasma generated by the radiofrequency generator in the hollow cathode plasma jet system using argon or mixture of argon with iodine. Diagnostic method used is Langmuir probe.

The low pressure DC pulsed or RF pulsed modulated hollow cathode plasma jets worked on the principle of the reactive sputtering of the hollow cathode usually in the gas mixture of Ar + O2 or N2. The DC pulsed power supplier was applied with combination of the RF source for the plasma jets generation. It was clearly demonstrated that properties of TiO2 and TiO2:N films significantly depended on the plasma parameters. First, the produced films were characterized with the aid of a number of methods (AFM, SEM, XRD, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), UV–vis spectrometry). Further, the films were judged in terms of their specific optical functionality to generate photocurrents upon being illuminated with spectrally well defined narrow light beams. The parameters of the chemically reactive plasma in the jets were determined using the time-resolved Langmuir probe system. The measurement of the ion energy distribution function was performed by means of the RFA.

Physical and mechanical properties of Carboniferous arkoses from Březín natural stone deposit
Čada, Martin ; Přikryl, Richard (advisor) ; Krutilová, Kateřina (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to determine the levels of the physical and mechanical properties of chosen sedimentary (siliciclastic) rocks and also to describe their microstructural nature. With respect to the intended use of the studied material (building stone raw material) the laboratory testing methods are presented. The samples were taken from the drill cores and also from the surface blocks in locality "Zlatý lom" Březín situated in western Bohemia. The microstructural phenomena in the samples were studied using optical microscopy and digital image analyses. According to Folk's classification (1980) the name of the rock was lithic arkose. The strength testing methods were represented by unconfined compressive strength and the Brazilian test. The rest of the mechanical parameters were determined in form of Young's modulus, shear modulus and Poisson's ratio. Special emphasis was given to the hydric expansion (after full immersion) test. The other physical methods were used in order to describe the pore space and real density of samples. For this purposes the absorption test, mercury intrusion porosimetry and helium pycnometry were performed. Besides the porosity value, the pore-size distribution histograms were obtained. In order to calculate the theoretical density of the rock MINLITH and MODES...
Pulsed plasma systems
Klusoň, Jan ; Kudrna, Pavel (advisor) ; Krčma, František (referee) ; Čada, Martin (referee)
The doctoral thesis deals with the experimental study of the low-temperature plasma designated for the preparation of thin films using the method of physical sputtering. It describes measurements which were realized on two types of devices - on the low-pressure plasma jet sputtering system and on the planar magnetron. The plasma diagnostics in the discharge excited in the pulse regime represent the main theme of the thesis. The discharge in the low-pressure plasma jet was studied by means of an electrostatic Langmuir probe, in the case of the planar magnetron, mass spectroscopy with energetic as well as time resolution was used. To understand the results achieved in the pulse generated plasma good knowledge of the basic continuous DC regime of the discharge excitation is essential. Therefore a considerable part of the thesis deals purely with the continuous DC discharge. In the case of the low- pressure plasma jet, the attention was focused also on the characteristic property of this plasma source, which is the flow from the jet.
