Charles University Third faculty of medicine Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine, Charles University, 3rd Faculty of Medicine and FNKV University Hospital Author: Bc. Čermáková Martina Supervisor: Mgr. Šárka Línková, DiS Consultant: MUDr. Bohumil Bakalář Title of diploma thesis: Preoxygenation before suction of patients on mechanical ventilation The standard procedure for patient care in intensive care units is the suctioning from the lower respiratory tract. This process is necessary to keep the airways clear and open. Suctioning can lead to a number of-post-suction complications such as asystole, bradycardia/tachycardia, desaturation and changes in blood pressure values. Preoxygenation before suction from the lower respiratory tract appears to be an effective method to prevent the-complications described above. Current research indicates that preoxygenation prevents a decrease in saturation. This information led us to the question of whether preoxygenation can positively affect other physiological functions as well. After reviewing articles, we realized that saturation values were only assessed without discrimination among reasons for artificial ventilation. Therefore, we came up with a research question which lung diseases/disorders could benefit from preoxygenation by...
Western blot analysis of selected oxidative stress markers in aorta of apoE/LDLR deficient mice

Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Western blot analysis of selected oxidative stress markers in aorta of apoE/LDLR deficient mice Author of diploma thesis: Bc. Martina Čermáková Supervisor: PharmDr. Jana Rathouská, Ph.D. Background: The aim of this diploma thesis was to evaluate expression of selected oxidative stress molecules (SOD-3, iNOS, catalase, HO-1) in cardiac aorta and nitrate and nitrite levels in plasma in two groups of mice. These two groups of mice varied in genetic features - the monitored group was, compared to control group of mice, deficient for apolipoprotein E and LDL receptor. Methods: For the study, 2 months old male mice were fed a standard rodent diet. The males were divided into two groups - control (C57BL/6J) and monitored (apoE-/- /LDLR- /- ). Western blot method was used to evaluate and quantify iNOS, SOD-3, catalase and HO-1 molecules in the aorta. HPLC method was used to quantify nitrate and nitrite levels in plasma. Result: HPLC method did not show statistically significant differences in the nitrate and nitrite levels in plasma between the two groups of examined mice. Western blot analysis of aortic samples showed statistically significantly higher SOD-3 expression (208.39 %) and a significantly...

Author: Martina Čermáková Institution: Charles University, Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové, Department of Non-medical Studies, Title: Education of adolescents in the prevention of breast cancer Supervisor: Mgr. Eva Vachková, Ph.D. Number of pages: 115 Year of defense: 2021 Keywords: breast cancer, breast cancer, breast cancer in adolescents, education of adolescents, problems of breast cancer, health literacy, adolescence The bachelor's thesis deals with the education of adolescents in the prevention of breast cancer. The theoretical part includes the anatomy and physiology of the breast, the division and description of cancers. We also described the TNM classification, clinical symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, nursing care and risk factors. In the next part, prevention, adolescence, health literacy of adolescents, issues of education were mentioned. The empirical part consists of a quantitative questionnaire survey. The questions concerned self-examination, doctor's visits, risk factors and ways of communicating this information. The data were compared with some previous surveys. Based on the research results, an educational material was prepared.

The physiotherapy posibilities in the Ib degree scoliosis of primary school age children
ČERMÁKOVÁ, Martina
Bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of physiotherapy school age children who have been diagnosed with scoliosis Ib grade. Scoliosis is considered a deformity of the spine in the frontal, sagittal and transverse. It leads to the shape deformation of the vertebral due to pressure changes. The theoretical part is processed axial system from the perspective of kinesiology, deep stabilizing system of the spine and postural stability, definitions and classifications of scoliosis and surgical options and conservative treatment. In physiotherapy practice can be used several approaches that are primarily engaged in the treatment of scoliosis. In this work there are written methods that deal with the treatment of scoliosis, although not their main focus. One of these methods is, for example, sensorimotor stimulation from Janda and Vávrová (Janda, Vávrová, 1992), whose objective is to activate subcortical mechanisms that participate on motoric control and to reach automated activity of muscles that are needed for removing muscle dysbalance. The theoretical part of the study was to define scoliosis, write its problems and treatment options for scoliosis focus on conservative therapy with the classification of sensorimotor stimulation method. The second objective of this work was to suggest and then implement specific physiotherapy for school age children diagnosed with scoliosis Ib grade to which elements of sensorimotor stimulation were included. For the practical part of the thesis I used qualitative research methods. The research was conducted using three patients younger school age being in the care of the Rehabilitation Department of the Hospital České Budějovice, a. s. The results were presented in the form of case studies. The research was conducted for three months. In all patients, with whom I conducted therapy, were also included elements of sensorimotor stimulation. Then I recognized in the kinesiologic analyse that the spinal dynamic tests improved, some of the shortened muscles relaxed and patients learned how to breathe properly. They also mentioned better body posture perception and possibilities of its correction. Use of physiotherapy procedures designed to influence scoliosis curve using sensorimotor exercise can be an inspiration for physiotherapists, other practitioners or students.
