Multi criteria decision on capital market
Smelik, Marek ; Borovička, Adam (advisor) ; Čížek, Ondřej (referee)
This work is dealing with portfolio optimization of stocks available on Czech RM-SYSTEM stock. The optimization is done by multiple criteria decision. In first two chapters there are description of theory of capital market, stock market and stock markets which are on Czech market. The practical part is the main important part of the work. The practical part deals with optimization of portfolio of stocks which are available on Czech stock market. Main goal of this work is to show possibility of creating portfolio of stocks by multiple criteria decision methods.
Determinants of car prices
Oravcová, Lenka ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Čížek, Ondřej (referee)
The aim of the thesis Determinants of car prices is to create econometric model for price predictions of new and used cars. The prediction is based on the data provided by website of Slovak retailer of new and used cars. The model should detect statistically significant variables and determine their impact on final price. In the first part of this study, there is theoretical description of automobile industry and factors influencing price of car. The second part is devoted on developing the predictive model, suitable transformation of explanatory variables, interpretation of results and the car price classification in form of decision tree.
Předpověď inflace Euro zóny pomocí Phillipsovy křivky
Michálková, Simona ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor) ; Čížek, Ondřej (referee)
The aim of this paper is to investigate various versions of the Phillips curve and their inflation forecasting ability for Euro Area. We consider autoregressive distributed lag models and use two types of trend estimation -- successive (the trend is estimated before the remaining parameters are) and join, using exponential smoothing. The versions of the Phillips curve are evaluated by rolling and recursive window methods, various selection criteria for lag variables and different combination of the inflation indicators. To evaluate the forecasted values, we calculate the RMSE in three 7-year periods: 1993-1999 (run up Euro area), 2000-2006 (stable inflation period) and 2007-2013 (financial crisis). According to all our modifications, we find some models which achieve satisfying results in terms of the RMSE, albeit not for all forecasting periods. We notice that some models are satisfactory only in the stable period however not in the periods with low inflation and vice versa.
Opening clinical trial in the Czech Republic
Kodat, Richard ; Melechovský, Jan (advisor) ; Čížek, Ondřej (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the management of a project entitled Start-up of clinical trials in the Czech republic. Methods and tools of project management are applied to provide the project s analysis. In the practical part the project is firstly described. The description includes the project s environment, the scope and targets and the basic activities. Activities and finally the whole project are analysed by MS Project (considering costs, time, resources). The analyses are described in relation to the theoretical part of the thesis. In the theoretical part the basic terms, methods and analyses are described. The project is planned to meet the general requirements in clinical trials in the Czech republic.
Analýza regionálních cen nemovitostí ve Spojených státech pomocí vysokodimenzionálního VAR modelu
Krčál, Adam ; Čížek, Ondřej (advisor) ; Zouhar, Jan (referee)
In this thesis the heterogeneity of regional real estate prices in United States is investigated. A high dimensional VAR model with additional exogenous predictors, originally introduced by \cite{fan11}, is adopted. In this framework, the common factor in regional house prices dynamics is explained by exogenous predictors and the spatial dependencies are captured by lagged house prices in other regions. For the purpose of estimation and variable selection under high-dimensional setting the concept of Penalized Least Squares (PLS) with different penalty functions (e.g. LASSO penalty) is studied in detail and implemented. Moreover, clustering methods are employed to identify subsets of statistical regions with similar house prices dynamics. It is demonstrated that these clusters are well geographically defined and contribute to a better interpretation of the VAR model. Next, we make use of the LASSO variable selection property in order to construct the impulse response functions and to simulate the prices behavior when a shock occurs. And last but not least, one-period-ahead forecasts from VAR model are compared to those from the Diffusion Index Factor Model by \cite{stock02}, a commonly used model for forecasts.
Application of project management for organizing a music festival
Ngo Quang, Huy ; Melechovský, Jan (advisor) ; Čížek, Ondřej (referee)
Bachelor thesis "Application of project management for organizing a music festival" focuses on the theory and practice of project management. The first part introduces the essential knowledge of graph theory. The second part deals with methods and tools for project management. The main section is a practical part, where gained knowledge is implemented to the project management of the music festival Indie Sessions. The whole problem is transferred to the MS Project software through which various analyzes are carried out, such as cost, time, risk or source analyzes. The entire project is displayed using the Gantt chart.
Business Plan of Establishing a Fast Food Restaurant in Jindřichův Hradec
Čížek, Ondřej ; Hajdíková, Taťána (advisor) ; Novák, Michal (referee)
The goal of this bachelor work is to create a viable project for founding of a fast food restaurant. This work is divided into two main parts. The first part is the theoritical one and decribes how to write business plan correctly. In the second part there is the concrete business plan.
Stock portfolio optimization using multi-criteria methods
Mihál, Jakub ; Borovička, Adam (advisor) ; Čížek, Ondřej (referee)
This bachelor thesis aims to fulfill expectations of fictional investor, in other words choice of optimal stock portfolio based on preset requirements. First part of the bachelor thesis is dedicated to theoretical approach explaining stock markets, decision theory and linear programming. Process of the optimal portfolio selection is based on process consisting of 3 main steps. First steps selects stocks that are effective - worth investing - from investor's point of view. Selection is carried out via multi-criteria decion analysis method ELECTRE I. Second step verifies reliabitily of the output from step one. Third step designes mathematical model and resultant optimization in mathematical comilator LINGO. In conclusion I will focus myself on thorough interpretation and analysis of the results and choice of optimal portfolio.
Econometric analysis of oil price
Novotný, Lukáš ; Formánek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Čížek, Ondřej (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on econometric analysis of oil price WTI. The purpose of the work is to find what factors have influence on the oil price. These factors are tested by econometric methods and after choosing the selected variables I tried to build up some models which describe the oil price WTI movements. In building up the models I am using econometric approaches to correct the models. The bachelor thesis is divided into 3 main chapters -- two of them are theoretical and the last chapter is practical. In the theoretic parts there is a summary of oil facts, extraction, processing of oil, oil market and there is a description of selected econometric methods. In practical part there are my own models and comments on the results. The resulting models show weaker effect of traditionally expected factors like supply and demand for oil and on the other hand greater influence of other factors like global financial crisis or oil stocks. The bachelor thesis leads to proving some thesis from the used literature. It also shows the complexity of creating oil price.
