This diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. Theoretical part is divided into three main chapters. First chapter focuses on characteristics of the town of Trest and its offered services for its citizens. Second chapter focuses on problematics of families with unsupported children, specifically issues that threaten the functioning of the family in the society. It primarily focuses on financial and residential problematics, also social exclusion or socially pathological phenomena, that can occur in the family. In this chapter there can be also found short part about risky situations that can put stability of the family in danger. Last, third chapter, focuses on social help guaranteed by the state to families with unsupported children and also to services providing help and support to families. For practical part of the thesis I chose qualitative methodology of research. Data collecting was carried out through professional public living or working in the town of Trest. These people were involved in the problematics of social services and help for families with children in the town of Trest. The main goal was to reflect social problems of the families with children in Trest. The research was carried out through qualitative semi-structured interviews. Research questions were focused on what possibilities do citizens of the town of Trest have in the unfavourable social situations. One of the goals was to find out how is the situation of social help in Trest. Through interviews it was also discovered how the professional public views current state of social help and providing social services in the town, and how are the families in need of help targeted. This diploma thesis should be benefit to the town of Trest as an evaluation of the current state of social services for families with children in the town with the focus on social help. Activities of Low-Threshold Facilities for Children and Youth from the Perspective of Social Workers
ČÁPOVÁ, Monika
This bachelor's thesis deals with activities defined in the Social Services Act No. 108/2006 Coll., and it also deals with difficulties with assembling the individual plan in low-threshold facilities for children and youth (also as the LTFCY), where there are users of social services that are both of-age and minors. This bachelor's thesis is divided into theoretical part and practical part. In theoretical part there are defined social services and concepts related with them, there is also concretization of the target group, activities of the services according to the act mentioned above and basic description of the individual planning. In the practical part of this bachelor's thesis there was used the method of qualitative research. The data was collected using semi-structured interviews with eight social workers of the LTFCY in the Vysočina region. Main goal of this thesis was to find out what activities provided by the LTFCY are the most wanted by their clients, what institutions do they usually collaborate, and what difficulties do those social workers encounter with while creating the user's individual plan. The research questions were focused on activities of the LTFCY defined by the law and also on how the users learn about the LTFCY and on the difficulties that might the social worker meet while creating the individual plan for the client. Thanks to the interviews provided by the social workers working in the LTFCY it was possible to identify the pitfalls appearing in the individual planning with children and youth endangered by unfavorable social situation. Also, the finding of how the activities defined in the Social Services Act No. 108/2006 Coll. reflect in the goals set by the clients is very interesting. This thesis might be helpful to social workers working in the LTFCY environment and workers who create internal rules, methodology, and so on, for this kind of facilities. It could also be interesting for other people working with the same or similar target group.
