Language manaement of Huastecan Nahuatl in Mexico

Language management of Nahuatl in Mexico This thesis describes the current status of Nahuatl language, and disccus its functioning and position within the institutional structures of Mexican society, as well as language community in the municipality of Chicontepec in northeastern Mexico. Nahuatl is one of the best-known indigenous languages with wider distribution across the Mexico and according to the latest census, there are one and half million speakers of the language. The aim of this paper is to present the key moments of the relationship between Spanish and Nahuatl. The paper analyzes how to manage the problems associated with the language problems associated with Nahuatl and other indigenous languages from the second half of the twenty century to the present. On the basis of empirical data describes in detail the use of Nahuatl and the transmission within the selected families and communities in the bilingual Chicontepec. In four communities discussed the linguistic behavior of the population with emphasis on intergenerational language transmission. The Nahua community have experienced over the past 30 years, the linguistic dynamic changes that result in different language skills in different generations, genders and social groups. The using of Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment for developing reading strategies of adolescents with dyslexia

The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the development of reading strategies of adolescent pupils with dyslexia using Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment, an internationally recognized method which is aimed at the development of cognitive functions. In the context of the actual legislative changes in the education of pupils with special educational needs, this reflects the needs of educational practice. The theoretical part summarizes the basic terminology and the state of the Czech and foreign literature related to the topic of this work. The research part of the work characterizes the research design and the research sample, and then presents individual results and conclusions for further researches and educational practice. The objectives of the research can be divided into two levels, in the qualitative part of the research there were realized special reeducations of adolescent pupils with dyslexia using set of teaching materials based on the principles of Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment. PhDr. Pavla Zajícová, Ph.D. Abstract The following thesis deals with chosen aspects of teaching seniors at universities of the third age (U3A) and specific aspects of teaching foreign languages to seniors at U3As. The thesis focuses on the ambiguity of the term "senior" and discuses existence or nonexistence of an independent scientific discipline dealing with education of seniors. The thesis characterizes chosen institutions of education of seniors and chosen specific aspects of this process. In the empirical part the thesis compares four case studies of education of seniors and teaching foreign languages to seniors at: 1) U3A in Malta, 2) U3As in Scotland, 3) U3As in the Czech Republic and 4) at the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem U3A. Drama in English Language Teaching

The dissertation focuses on the possibilities of drama in English language teaching in the second stage of basic education. The objective was to contribute to the development of ELT methodology in the Czech environment and to try to critically define the possibilities of drama education as an approach to instruction in this field. The starting points of this dissertation are based on social constructivism, accent the principle of holistic learning, and stem from the demands for changes in education in connection with the curricular reform of the education system that is currently underway. Apart from a terminological analysis, the theoretical part of the dissertation also contains a detailed introduction to the teaching strategies of drama education and their application in English language teaching. The goal of the empirical part was to find the beliefs of a cohort of teachers from primary schools and of English Studies students at the Faculty of Education regarding the possibility of using drama in English language teaching.
