Design of low-temperature asphalt mixtures
Líšková, Jana ; Zajíček, Jan (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
In this diplomatic work, the issue of low-temperature asphalts and binders for asphalt mixtures is solved. Diploma work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part of diploma work, the purpose was to process a overview of technologies that allow the reduction of working temperature in the production and laying of asphalt mixtures. The purpose of the practical part was to comparison the functional parameters of two types of asphalt mixtures made in two variants, with the common asphalt binder and adding licomont into asphalt. Attention was given to stiffness, wheel drive tests and low temperature parameters.
The frost susceptibility of the soils and materials to subgrade of the pavements
Mašek, Jakub ; Zajíček, Jan (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of the determination of the frost susceptibility of soils in the subgrades of road structures. The theoretical part compares the ways of testing the frost susceptibility in the Czech Republic and other selected countries of the European Union. Furthermore, it also deals with the development of the frost susceptibility index in the Czech Republic. The empirical part focuses on the laboratory testing of the frost susceptibility of the given sample of soil by the direct frost heave method. Moreover, it also deals with the simulation of penetration of frost by the subgrade and the possibility of shortening the length of the freezing during the direct testing the frost susceptibility.
The frost susceptibility of unbound mixtures to pavements
Surá, Kateřina ; Zajíček, Jan (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the analysis of the theoretical part of the unbound mixtures, their implementation and compliance. Further deals with determining the extent frost susceptibility direct and indirect method in the Czech Republic and the Member States of the European Union. The practical part is focused on the performance of tests on selected samples of unbound mixtures for which was gradually increased the content of fine particles and that direct and indirect method of determining the rate of frost susceptibility and also the evaluation of direct methods of particular customized way, which does not impose the appropriate standard. At the conclusion of the work is carried out an evaluation of the samples and comparison of the different methods with each other.
News in the field of the road construction
Zelenka, Lukáš ; Zajíček, Jan (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis focuses on new technological equipment for transport and paving of asphalt mixtures. Specifically, it is a thermo superstructure with an extrusion face and a homogenization tank of an asphalt mixture. The advantages of these machines and their positive influence on the quality of the work are described. Subsequently, the researches which confirm it are described. The last chapter describes recommendations for the contracting authority to require the use of these technologies in tenders.
The use of the waste aggregates for bound mixtures of pavements
Chloupek, Adam ; Zajíček, Jan (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The works deals with the possibilities of using non-standard fraction of fine crushed aggregate in route base layers. Goal of my thesis is research of using material from specific location. Theoretical part summarizes basic knowledge regarding bound mixtures and their normative requirements. Practical part of my thesis describes my various mixture design and following testing and determination of design properties by official and experimental tests. The conclusion summarizes the researched outputs and findings, which confirm the future possibilities of using this material in base layers.
Functional tests on mixtures of the test section with asphalt concrete and high amount of RAP
Kučerová, Marcela ; Zajíček, Jan (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the testing of asphalt mixtures of asphalt concrete containing reclaimed asphalt and laying of the test section. The theoretical part deals with the use of reclaimed asphalt in hot asphalt mixtures, namely the specifics of rejuvenating agents, aging and asphalt mixture. Further more information on the functional properties of asphalt mixtures and the influence of reclaimed asphalt on them is given. The practical part describes testing of mixtures of ACO 11+ and ACO 11+ with 50% reclaimed asphalt and tests on asphalt binders. In order to compare the proposed mixtures, the low thermal properties of ČSN EN 12697-46 and the stiffness modules according to ČSN EN 12697-26. In the last part of the diploma thesis the results of the measured values were compared with each other in order to determine of asfphalt recovery. From the overall test results, it can be seen that the effect of the rejuvenating agent was positive. However, the desired degree of rejuvenation has not been achieved after production.
Experimental design of asphalt mixtures
Němec, Jan ; Zajíček, Jan (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on an experimental design of low-noise asphalt mixtures. The theoretical part describes the problems of noise and methods for noise measurements. There are also specified the characteristics of various low-noise asphalt mixtures. The practical part addresses the experimental design of SMA 8 LA. Subsequently, the mixture is exposed to functional testing and the results are afterwards compared with the conventional type of stone mastix asphalt SMA 8 S. The second part is focused primarily on an experimental mixture design of a specific asphalt mixture type - coated macadam. There is especially solved the issue ofbinder drainage and the proportion of cracked grains during the compaction. The advantage of this mixture is the lower price demands cause by lower binder content and a smaller amount of fine aggregate. This mixture should be used as a base layer for low-loaded (traffic) roads. In the conclusion are thereafter evaluated the knowledge and the experience with the testing and designing of individual mixtures gained during the testing.
Workind with poetry in secondary school Czech langusge and literature classes
Zajíček, Jan ; Komberec, Filip (advisor) ; Laufková, Veronika (referee)
The goal of this master's dissertation concerned with working with poetry in ČJL (Czech Language and Literature) classes in high school is to create educational classes, which aim to improve high school students' relationship towards poetry. This goal is reached through diverse class activities, which are used in ČJL classes, and which are described in detail in this thesis. In the theoretical part, students' relationship towards poetry is studied and the way poetry as an art form is still attractive even for current high school students is explained. In the practical part, entire complex classes and separate activities are described, both of which are supplemented by excerpts of students' work, which was created during the aforementioned classes and activities. Each class is complemented by both the teacher's and students' reflection of it.
Whistleblowing as a means of employer protection
Zajíček, Jan ; Morávek, Jakub (advisor) ; Tomšej, Jakub (referee)
1 Whistleblowing as a means of employer protection Abstract This doctoral thesis regards the term whistleblowing, i.e. the protection of the notifier of harmful conduct. The author has chosen this topic primarily due to the current importance of this topic. The initial part of this thesis is concerned with the general themes, the explanation of the terms, and the history of whistleblowing. In addition, this document analyzes the sources of international laws regarding this phenomenon that relate to the Czech Republic and the Czech legal order. Furthermore, this thesis discusses the European Union legislation relating to whistleblowing and focuses on the Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2019 on the protection of persons who report breaches of Union law, which can currently be considered the most important source of law regarding the whistleblowing and simultaneously to be the template for the Czech national legislation in development. This thesis analyses and documents the contents of this directive. Although the term whistleblowing is still novel to the Czech law, its aspects can be found in several legal branches. Therefore, this thesis considers its sources not only from the perspective of the constitutional, labour, criminal, and administrative law but...
