Positive Psychology as a Theoretical Foundation for Constructive Journalism

This diploma thesis tries to provide a theoretical basis and explanation of the interdisciplinary connection between positive psychology and constructive journalism. Constructive journalism involves the application of the tools of positive psychology in order to increase the quality of media content by creating engaging and productive news and journalism. The aim of this work is to verify the theory and methods of positive psychology and constructive journalism through research, which exposes respondents to two articles formulated in both negative (catastrophic) and positive (constructive) frames. The purpose is to find out to what extent framing affects emotions, motivation, attitude or preference and whether constructive journalism is really the right way to raise the level of journalism as such.

Subjectively perceived symptomatology of depression at czech adult population-usage of Beck depression inventory

A certain level of depressive symptoms also occurs at healthy individuals and their groups still not tell the nature of depressive illness. This thesis deals with the most detailed mapping of subjectively perceived symptoms of depression in a non-clinical part of the Czech adult population using the latest version of the Beck Depression Inventory BDI-II. Selfassesment/referal questionnaire BDI-II offers several options for exploring of depressive symptoms which in this work are all used and analyzed in a view of the sex and age of the respondents. Research set consists of persons aged 20 to 84 years and is further divided into 5 subgroups that represent developmental stages from young adulthood to the right age-elderness bounded according Příhoda (1971). The aim here is not only to determine the overall level of depressive symptoms at examined people but also the intensity, type and characteristic representation of the symptoms of depression according to BDI-II in the research file, including a comparison of the differences between men and women and age subgroups of the above mentioned aspects together. The work does not attempt to explain observed phenomena, because the presence or development of certain symptoms of depression or mental discomfort experiences in the population isinfluenced by many factors....

Nonverbal factors in psychotherapy of adolescents

The thesis deals with one of the areas of children's psychology - psychotherapy of adolescents. The study mainly focuses on different non-verbal moments, or factors, occurring at psychotherapeutic sessions held with adolescent patients, and it outlines the possibilities of application of these factors in the psychotherapeutic process. The objective of the thesis is to show that sometimes seemingly insignificant non-verbal moments may play an important role, especially in therapeutic work with adolescents, and therefore therapists should pay increased attention to these symptoms. This also applies in case that a patient was originally indicated a psychotherapy, the main medical treatment medium of which is predominately an interview (for example a family therapy). The thesis is based on one of the assumptions that in general non-verbal methods, in this case at least some of their elements, may work as facilitators of an interview, for example if the patient fails to express certain personal experience of his or her, his/her feeling or emotion with the help of words, or when a therapist fails to enter into verbal communication with the patient.

Assessment of vulnerability of water reservoirs to sediment loads and eutrophication caused by soil erosion

This methodology has the following aims: Allow any investigator to evaluate the erosion and transport of sediment phosphorus in large river basins. Allow investigators to estimate the importance of erosion for the eutrophication of the target reservoir. Allow investigators to estimate the importance of other sources of phosphorus in the watershed. Allow investigators to estimate the behavior of the other tanks in the current state of phosphorus loads from the watershed. The methodology is focused on solutions in large river basins.

Vstupní analýza k návrhu revitalizačních opatření v povodí Botiče od pramene po nádrž Hostivař

Studie má za cíl analyzovat v co nejširším záběru současný stav povodí VN Hostivař jako mimořádně významné rekreační oblasti pro obyvatele jihovýchodu hlavního města Prahy a v jejím povodí nalézt problematické oblasti a lokality z řady různých hledisek. Předkládaný materiál se zabývá především následujícími problémovými okruhy: Ekologická stabilita krajiny, Stav vodotečí a vodních nádrží, Odtokové poměry území, Kvalita vody, Vodní eroze a transport sedimentu, Větrná eroze, Doprava, Bydlení a socio-ekonomická sféra – celkový rozvoj regionu, Odpadové hospodářství, Mikroklima. Předkládaná studie je studií vyhledávací, která by měla zhodnotit stávající stav, směry vývoje a definovat hlavní problémy celého území jak v současnosti, tak z hlediska nedaleké budoucnosti. Do definovaných oblastí by se pak měly zaměřit konkrétní podrobné práce, zaměření na jednotlivé problémy a lokality.

Studie Revitalizace říčního systému levostranných přítoků Chumavy mezi Hostomicemi a Radouší

Studie Revitalizace říčního systému Touškovského potoka, okres Plzeň – sever, Plzeň – jih a okres Tachov, Plzeňský kraj jako součást obnovy ekologické stability krajiny řeší komplexně řadu problémů: posouzení erozní náchylnosti zemědělských pozemků k vodní erozi, návrh protierozních opatření v povodí jako ochranu proti vodní erozi, zásady revitalizace jednotlivých toků, návrh umístění nádrží se stálým nadržením, případně suchých nádrží, tůní a mokřadů, návrh rekonstrukce hlavních a vedlejších polních cest, včetně ozelenění. Jednotlivá opatření jsou navržena tak, aby vzájemně podporovala svoji účinnost. Všechna navržená opatření není nutno realizovat současně, avšak v určitém časovém horizontu je třeba komplex opatření dokončit tak, aby jejich společné působení obnovu ekologické stability zajistilo.
