Intelligent Access Terminal Using ESP32 Platform
Pomykal, Šimon ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design cheap intelligent access control system based on esp32. This system is designed for use in family houses, flats, garages, gardens etc. The designed system is composed of access control terminal module which uses fingerprint reader to authenticate people and of camera modules which monitor the area of entry These modules are connected to cloud using AWS IoT Core. Another part of the system is a cloud application which evaluates data from the system. The acces control system is meant to be part of a home security system, but can be used independently to some extent.
Design of Sensor Modules for ZigBee Wireless Network
Tichý, Andrej ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
The purpose of this study is to contribute to spreading of the global phenomenon IoT and to create a sensory network. In my study I focused on the development of active and passive modules using the IEEE802.15.4 standard based on the ZigBee protocol. When creating my modules I was using the micro-controller CC2530 by Texas Instruments having the processor platform 8051. To implement the communication firmware for sensory modules I used the Z-Stack 3.0 implementation. The main communicator uses the CC2530 micro-controller as ZigBee network preprocessor and miniPC raspberry pi as ZigBee application processor. As a part of this study I created an active module that enables to control the relay; an RGB led strap using the PWM modulation and also the electric current measurement using noninvasive sensors. I also created a passive module including sensors BME280, TSL2561 and DHT11 to measure the air pressure, temperature, humidity and light intensity. Furthermore I created an universal module that makes easier the creation of new prototypes. Not least I created all-purpose raspberry mini-module. The relevance of this study is given by creation of module prototypes using the ZigBee protocol. Special value within this study has the the mini-module for Raspberry Pi which can be used in various roles within the ZigBee topology.
Hardware-Based Acceleration of Image Filtration
Zelinka, Martin ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the hardware-based acceleration of image filtration using FIR filters. Define basic concept about digital image, describes the principle of filtration and briefly explains the techniques used to detect edges in an image and smoothing the image. The main aim of this work is the analysis of several acceleration methods of FIR filters, which are suitable for implementation in hardware, and the subsequent implementation of the selected method with the possibility of configuration changes at runtime with regard to the maximum throughput. In conclusion of this work it is described the evaluation of the method and made compared with the optimal software implementations.
SDR Receiver for 40 MHz
Vorba, Filip ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This project is about designing a new SDR (Software Defined Radio) receiver for band up to 40 MHz.
Remote WakeOnLan
Pitner, Ivo ; Kaštil, Jan (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This work deals with construction of an embedded system with remote access, whitch controls computers in the same network in order to reduce their energy consumption. For this purpose is used the WakeOnLAN technique. The device also uses two power components called SSR and  these are used for switching AC power to them attached appliances. The work discusses the TCP/IP architecture, system design and finally the firmware implementation.
Interactive Web Application for Design Space Exploration
Slávik, Denis ; Sekanina, Lukáš (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
The desire of this thesis is to design and implement an interactive web interface that will allow users to select from a library of thousands of implementations of approximate adders and multipliers for circuit design and benchmarking, developed by Evolvable Hardware Group (EHW) from the Faculty of Information Technology at the Brno University of Technology. We will find out about the web technologies used for this thesis. Also, we will find a chapter devoted to designing a suitable user interface and an efficient algorithm to process and visualize several thousand implementations.
System for Recording and Reporting Fault States of Cooling Devices
Jašek, Filip ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design and creation of a system for recording and reporting error states of cooling devices on the principle of a compressor heat pump. An important element of the concept of the entire monitoring system is a built-in platform based on the ESP32 microcontroller for evaluating data measured by sensors. Another key element is the communication module, which sends measured data via GPRS in the form of MQTT messages to the service web application. The application receives, evaluates and records measured data. Subsequently are measured data and evaluated error states presented to the user in the form of tables and interactive graphs.
Smart Home Security System
Dragúň, Peter ; Bidlo, Michal (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis deals with the security of flats and houses using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology. The aim of the thesis is to develop an electronic security system for access and intrusion control exploiting the possibilities of Bluetooth Low Energy technology for improved user experience. The thesis describes security systems, BLE technology and ESP32 microcontroller. The creation of a mobile application that is used to set up the system and its management is included, as well. The thesis also describes the design, construction of a prototype and its implementation. The last part is the verification of functionality, testing and suggestions of possibilities for further improvement of the created prototype.
Application of Neural Accelerators on Rapsberry PI
Barna, Kristian ; Sekanina, Lukáš (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
The presented bachelor thesis deals with the statistical evaluation of performance for hardward accelerator of deep neural networks. Describes convolutional neural networks along with mathematical calculations. Explains their acceleration and conversion to a format suitable for the Intel Movidius NCS accelerator. 8 hardware platforms and 22 neural network difficulties were compared experimentally. Up to 105-fold improvement  was demonstrated in isolated inference of the MobileNetV2 network for the Raspber Pi platform using an accelerator. Performance between the tested platforms was also evaluated from an energy point of view. The application of facial identity demonstrated the conditions during real use. Possible limits of CNN acceleration on power-limited devices (Raspberry Pi) have been uncovered, especially due to improper selection of input image resolution. All measurements were evaluated by statistical procedures.
Applications of Ant Algorithms
Kaščák, Imrich ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Bidlo, Michal (advisor)
The presented thesis focuses on the basic optimization algorithm of Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) - Ant System (AS) and its extension, Ant Colony System (ACS) on Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). The essence of these algorithms is to find the optimal solution (the shortest path) in a specified instance containing several locations. The thesis demonstrates verification of behaviour of both algorithms, experimental study of impact of adjustable parameters of ant algorithms on result. Furthermore, the thesis is focused on examining the idea of optimizing detection of image edges by introducing a modification into an existing solution. Modified solution experiments are performed and compared to the original.
