3D print for the development of learning tool in the field of Informatics
Dümont, Jan ; Vaňková, Petra (advisor) ; Jeřábek, Tomáš (referee)
The subject of the diploma thesis is the creation of a robotic tool for the development of algorithmic thinking for pupils of the 2nd grade of primary school and corresponding grades of multi-year grammar schools. The work is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, digital technologies using 3D visualization and their application in the school environment are introduced. A greater emphasis is placed on the description of 3D printing technologies. After the introduction of digital technologies, the possibilities of implementing 3D printing and modeling in the teaching of selected subjects are analyzed within the framework of the RVP ZV revision. This is followed by a list of applications dealing with 3D modeling suitable for selected target groups of pupils. The practical part provides a guide for assembling the robot and drafts of worksheets with ten algorithmic tasks, including solutions for educators. Also included are materials containing rules for building algorithms in the selected programming environment. Due to the mapping of the robot development process, the subsection presents a list of electronic components that can be used in the robot's production and justifies the selection of the chosen variants. The next chapter focuses on the reflection of...
Using IoT in high school
Hanel, Filip ; Vaňková, Petra (advisor) ; Novák, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis deals with the technological trend that the Internet of Things has recently become in the context of teaching at secondary school. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the basic technological and technical aspects of the Internet of Things, its definition, history and growing popularity. It also discusses the connection between this trend and education in three ways. Firstly with the idea of smart school, then the design of the teaching subject and its curriculum, hardware and software, and finally the use of IoT as a tool for teaching non-IT subjects. Attention is also given to different teaching methods and forms of learning such as STEM, DIY, design thinking, project-based and problem-based learning. The practical part is devoted to qualitative research and the introduction of some selected teaching activities. The research explores the perceptions of this trend in the selected secondary schools, including recommendations for teaching. From the findings of the investigation, it is evident that teaching dealing with this trend is already taking place or is in the pipeline in most of the schools, mainly due to the growing popularity of this trend and hence increasing demand in the job market and the complex integration of several information disciplines such as programming, database,...
Digital literacy in Computer science
Pečenka, Jakub ; Vaňková, Petra (advisor) ; Leipert, Jiří (referee)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the investigation of digital literacy in the field of Informatics. The concepts of digital literacy, digital competence and the framework of digital competence are explained in the theoretical part. These frameworks, which are used to define and assess digital competences in more detail, are subsequently analysed, described, and compared with each other. Then, based on chosen sources, the digital literacy of current Czech teachers is described. Furthermore, the currently ongoing revision of school educational programmes for primary schools is described, which adds digital competence to the educational programmes for primary schools and replaces the educational field "Information and communication technology" with the new educational field "Informatics". At the end of the theoretical part, the available materials for the preparation of Informatics learning activities in accordance with the mentioned revision are analysed. In the practical part, fifteen learning activities are proposed for the lessons of the new Informatics for various classes of the second grade of primary schools. The activities are divided into the four categories mentioned in the revision: "Data, information and modelling", "Algorithmizing and programming", "Information systems" and "Digital...
Virtual world in education
Šmarda, Radim ; Vaňková, Petra (advisor) ; Novák, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis deals with the development of computer and algorithmic thinking using virtual worlds, especially in the environment of the well-known computer game Minecraft. The aim of the thesis is to analyze virtual worlds as a way to develop algorithmic thinking in second grade primary school students, to map available solutions and to create a comprehensive set of practical tasks in a selected environment and then to conduct a research investigation verifying the selected solutions in the educational reality. The theoretical part of the thesis, in its introduction, focuses on the definition of terms directly related to the issue. Subsequently, the thesis analyses and maps the available tools suitable for the development of algorithmic thinking in the school environment. The main contribution of this thesis lies in the practically oriented part, which contains a collection of algorithmic problems created and tested in practice. This should serve as a theme for teachers in the subject of computer sciences. The tasks are in the form of methodological materials for block programming in a special version of the computer game Minecraft for schools and educational institutions. On the basis of all the obtained knowledge, the result of the work is the evaluation of the usefulness of virtual worlds as a...
Smartphones in education
Hruška, Ondřej ; Vaňková, Petra (advisor) ; Leipert, Jiří (referee)
Modern technology has become an integral part of our life but its implementation into school education is not so fast. Most of the population own a smartphone. While some people say that smartphones should be used in the lessons, others would prefer a partial or complete ban on them in schools. This work summarizes strengths and weaknesses of smartphones in education based on the literature review and discusses some recommendations on their use. Use of smartphones in education was studied in an application which helped with the basics of Russian alphabet. It was shown that most of the users did not read license terms, preferred their own gender for application voice and tended to leave the application prematurely. The users from primary and secondary schools seemed to prefer to use the application more at weekends than on working days, and the application was willingly installed more by older users. A questionnaire survey at a school was used to grasp the whole topic. It was revealed that that touch devices would be welcome in education by students, and they were prepared to use their own smartphone for studying, but at school rather than in their free time. Mobile phone is the preferred device for games playing and internet browsing, but the most used applications include social networks,...
Perceptions of new media by preschool children
Duchatschová, Martina ; Vaňková, Petra (advisor) ; Štípek, Jiří (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses on preschool children and their perception of new media. The aim of the thesis is to create educational material, based on a theoretical analysis of the given issue with the contribution of empirical evidence, which is focused on bringing the topic of new media closer to preschool children. The theoretical framework defines the term "new media" and describes the field of new media a preschool child should be associated with, based on current studies at the time of writing. As part of the thesis, qualitative research was carried out in the form of action research which consisted of two sets of survey research. The first survey collected data from the children's legal representatives in the form of a questionnaire. The follow-up second survey research took place in the form of individual interviews with the children. The results of the research describe the new media environment of preschool children, the values that are transmitted to children, the positive and negative aspects children perceive in new media, the behaviour they consider correct within new media, and the factors influencing preschool children's perception of new media.
Educational technology in the work of preschool children with cancer
Skalická, Jana ; Vaňková, Petra (advisor) ; Fialová, Irena (referee)
The diploma thesis in the theoretical level gives attention to the appropriate use of information technology in educating preschool children who are educated in hospitals or kindergartens at hospitals. Furthermore, the work focuses on the health issues, the impact of the disease on the child's psyche and the effects of hospitalization and long-term stay of the child in the hospital on his current life. The theoretical part of the thesis describes various types of digital technologies that are used in the educational process for preschool children nowadays. At the end of the theoretical part there are described selected cancer illnesses of children, which are often treated in FN Motol. In the introduction to the practical part of the work, the Motol University Hospital itself is described in more detail, including basic information about its history and current functioning. The practical part of the work is based on the use of digital technologies in the education of children hospitalized in the Department of Oncology of the University Hospital in Motol where the technical means most often used in long-term hospitalized children were found out not only in education, but in relation to spending their free time in hospital. On the basis of my personal experience , a ten-day educational program, which...
