The diploma project is the architectural-urbanistic study of the old prison reuse as new centrum of social deprived city part of Brno called „Bronx of the Brno“ because of its appropriate location, urbanistic land configuration and present of specific „genius loci“. This work is following the theoretical study made as diploma preparation, which set the main direction of the work. The aim of this project is the coplex of buildings mostly used for alternative culture, alternative forms of living not only for the comunity of social deprived city part but also for complete land recovery, grow of attractivity and raise of the land price. The main idea is to change the wrong address of the bad reputation quarter.
The development of the gender division of household work depending on socio-economic factors

This thesis examines the development of perceptions of the gender division of labour in the household according to socio-economic factors.. The aim of the thesis is to examine how socio-economic factors in the Czech Republic influence the position and role of women in the household and how they affect the division of household labour between partners. The theoretical part is devoted first to the definition of the basic concepts of gender, gender roles and stereotypes and inequalities, then to the division of labour in the household and the factors that influence this division of labour and finally to the development of the division of domestic labour between partners since the 1960s-1970s in Czechoslovakia. The method used is secondary data analysis in the SPSS program, where bivariate (bivariate) analysis and binary logistic regression are used for data analysis. The results of the analysis show that there has been a shift towards a more equal sharing of household labour between 2013 and 2022, but it cannot be confirmed with certainty that the shift between 2020 and 2022 was influenced by the Covid 19 pandemic. Gender Ideologies in the Czech Republic in Comparison with Spain

Viktorie Aldabaghová Abstract This thesis focuses on gender ideologies in the Czech Republic. Through a secondary analysis of data collected as part of the 2017 European Values Study, the attitudes of the Czech public towards gender roles are explored. To put the results of the analysis into a broader context, gender ideologies in the Czech Republic are compared with gender ideologies in Spain. The results show that gender ideologies in the Czech Republic are significantly more traditional than gender ideologies in Spain. The association between gender ideologies and basic socio- demographic characteristics of the population is examined.
Economic factors influencing suicide rate

This diploma thesis is devoted to the study of suicide in the Czech Republic (formerly Czechoslovakia). This thesis emphasizes the boom stage of the second half of the 1920s and the economic crisis of the first half of the 1930s and the financial crisis after 2008 and the economic boom after 2015. These two stages are important due to classical crises and booms that occurred in the market economy era. The methodology of the diploma thesis is based on selected theoretical concepts that deal with the influence factors have on suicide rates. Their subsequent application to the stages of the mentioned booms and crises in the selected periods shows their relevance for explaining this researched phenomenon in the given country. This work aims to evaluate the current state of research and find the most suitable methods and indicators that will be subjected to empirical testing using the analysis of selected stages in the author's thesis. The theoretical part presents how the topic developed during the 19th and 20th centuries. The analytical part proves the validity of the theoretical concepts; which examine the extent to which there is a connection between the suicide rate and chosen factors in the observed periods. A Discursive Analysis of the Changes in the Perception of Ecological Activism and Eco-terrorism

The diploma thesis analyzes the way in which ecological activism and eco-terrorism were described in 1997 and 2019 in the Lidové noviny and Právo dailies and tries to find the most significant similarities and differences between the two media discourses. The analysis is carried out with the use of Norman Fairclough's critical discursive analysis. The work is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part, where the former pays attention to the definition and beginnings of environmental activism and eco-terrorism and the most significant manifestations of ecological activism in the studied years - the completion of the Temelín nuclear power plant for 1997, and Greta Thunberg for 2019. The research part analyzes the discourse of ecological activism and eco-terrorism in the studied years, and compares them. The aim of the work is to capture the essence of these two discourses, their actors, main topics and arguments. The conclusion of the empirical part consists of comparisons between the two discourses and a discussion of their differences and similarities. Contemporary society's view of common sense marriages

The thesis "Contemporary society's view of common sense marriages" deals with the problem of two people entering into a marriage. The aim will be to describe the reasons for which people enter into marriages and how their introduction takes place. Another important goal of the thesis is to find out how people view the importance of rational reasons for entering into marriage, how they argue for their importance, and how they "reconcile" rational reasons with emotional and relational reasons. The author has divided the topic into several headings. The first theme will describe relationships and intimacy in society. It is mainly about describing the history of marriages, under what circumstances they were contracted and what their development was also within the evolution of the institution of the family. The second theme of the thesis will be "partner dating" and the theory of mate selection. In this topic the author will also focus on the development of dating advertisements, since dating goes hand in hand with serious relationships and marriages. As a main theme, the discussion will be on contemporary society and its perception of "marriage of convenience".

The diploma thesis "It's something like man flu": Male view on period discusses the way men talk about menstruation, what is the level of their communication on that topic and how they view menstruating women. The text also reveals the stereotypes on menstruation in our society, and, last but not least, focuses on men's discourses of periods. The thesis focuses on three age groups classified as generations X, Y and Z. The theoretical part presents the basic concepts used in the text, such as gender, discourse, stereotype, etc. In this section, menstruation is viewed from biological, linguistic, historical and societal perspective which demonstrates the fact that within our society, it is an important part of women's lives. Subsequently, there is a part devoted to the definition of the term generation and the distinctions typical for each generation. The aim of this thesis is to, by using a mixed research, reveal men's approach towards periods. In addition to semi-structured interviews with men from individual generations, the author made use of an on-line questionnaire as well. Development in reading in the Czech society during the last few decades

The thesis deals with development of reading in the Czech society during the last few decades. The aim of this study is to explore certain factors, that cause probace changes in reading of books and what is the measure of their impact. The teoretici part describes the historical long-term trends. These trends include existence certain historical events in the Czech society, which were defined by technological progress. In the next part explains important words for this study (who is the typical reader and non-reader, reading culture, reading behavior, etc.). The empirical part of study is based on multi-dimensional analysis the certain factors, which impact reading in proportion to time and the generations (created age categories - young generation 20 - 34, middle-aged 35 - 54 and old generation 55+). This part of study uses data from sociological researches, primarily of social and class structure (1984, 1991, 1999 and 2006). This study uses data from the international research of International Adult Literacy Survey (SIALS 98) and data from sociological research ISSP 2007 (Leisure time and sport). Alternative sanctions in the Czech Republic.

This diploma thesis deals with alternative sanctions in the Czech Republic. It primarily focuses on the cooperation between relevant actors during the process of decision-making about the type of sanction, its execution and supervision, and also concentrates on possible changes of its use after the amendment of criminal law in 2010. To give a complex view on given issue, the thesis also shortly focuses on alternatives to sanctions and diversions of criminal proceedings. System of alternative sanctions is framed by criminal policy and criminal law of the Czech Republic and factors that have influence on functioning of the system are determined. Those factors are multinational structures (OSN, EU, Council of Europe), level of registered criminality, forms of criminality and public opinion. Despite the fact, that Czech criminal law contains quite wide enumeration of alternative sanctions, there are still opinions that they are not used enough and that imprisonment is still preferred and it causes overcrowding of prisons and it is burden for state budget. Judges and prosecutors advocate themselves and claim that the problem is not on their side but rather the conditions of alternative sanctions which are poorly regulated and so it discourages from their use.
