Summer camp experience and its significance in adolescence

Title of the Thesis: Adventure and its significance in life Objective: The aim of this thesis is to use a survey to determine where the general population encounters adventure during adolescence, what emotions they experience during these encounters, and whether these experiences have an impact on shaping an individual's personality. These findings, along with theoretical foundations, should provide enough information to enrich existing adventure programs and serve as a basis for further scientific research. Methods: The theoretical part of the thesis is conducted through a literature review. The research is carried out through a survey and its subsequent analysis. Data collection took place from August 15, 2023, to September 5, 2023, and the research sample consisted of 127 respondents older than 20 years of age. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and Google Forms. Results: Respondents most commonly experienced adventure at summer camp (48%) and in the context of tourism (44.1%). They mentioned that in the context of adventurous activities, they most frequently experienced excitement (59.1%), adrenaline (52%), or stepping out of their comfort zone (40.2%). 96.7% of respondents believe that the adventures they've had had a positive impact on them. Title: Schools in nature in primary education in the Karlovy Vary Region Objectives: To summarize a survey of programme parts of schools in nature at primary schools in the Karlovy Vary region. Methods: The bachelor thesis uses a quantitative approach to research. The necessary information was obtained by the questionnaire survey method. The research sample counted 20 teachers from primary schools in the Karlovy Vary Region. Results: Primary schools in the Karlovy Vary Region organise schools in nature. The main aims are to build a class team and to increase the pupils' understanding of the teacher-pupil relationship. The main activities used in the programme are outdoor trips, hiking and outdoor games. The daily programme consists of a morning lesson, an afternoon spent in nature and various games, while the evening programme includes board games and screenings. Conclusion: According to the results, schools in nature are a popular part of pupils' education in the Karlovy Vary Region outside the traditional school environment. Using experiential learning for non-formal teaching history at secondary schools

Title: Using experimental learning for non-formal teaching of history at lower-secondary schools and for corresponding grades of eight- or six-year grammar schools. Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to create and realize a non-formal educational programme for a 9th graders of lower-secondary schools and for the corresponding grades of eight- or six-year grammar schools, which would serve to complement teaching of history with help of using elements of experiential learning. The secondary aim was evaluate programme by students themselves by using survey. Methods: The research group consisted of 54 students of the 9th graders of elementary school and the corresponding grade of eight- or six-year grammar schools. Data collection was based on using a self administered survey, which contained six closed question and one open-ended question. The data was evaluated with using graphs and descriptive statistics. Results: The survey results show that 53,7 % of the probands had never experienced a similar educational program before. Planning and organization of summer camps is the primary concern of this thesis. All the necessary aspects of organization, such as choosing the right location, creating the daily programme or even the ecological impacts summer camps have on out planet are present. The thesis also offers practical advice and tips for effective management. It can serve as a useful source for future supervisors and other summer camp management as it is a complete guidebook for successful planning and realization of such events. Motivational aspects for the Satiago de Compostela pilgrimage

Title: Motivational aspects for the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage. Objectives: The aim of the thesis was to find out the motivational aspects of pilgrims from the Czech Republic to the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Methods: The method of questionnaire survey was used for data collection, which was made in the Google Forms program. The questionnaire was filled out by 287 rspondens from the Czech Republic, 218 of them were women and 69 were men. The data were evaluated by using basic statistical methods and the results were analyzed by graphs and tables in Microsoft Excel. Results: The most frequent main motivational aspect for the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela is spiritual motivation with 33,5 %, the second most frequent motivational aspect is escape from routine with 20,2 % and the third is cultural-touristic motivation with 12,9 %. Religious motivation has only 7 %. The most frequent secondary motivational aspects are cultural-touristic motivation 17,5 %, escape from routine 17,3 %, gaining new experiences 17,1 % and sports motivation 16,9 %. Furthermore, it was found that the motivation for the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage differs according to gender. Title: Physiological response of the cyclist's organism when using different mountain bike components. Objectives: The goal of this final thesis was to assess the different influence of bicycle components on the physiological response of the cyclists' organism using a systematic research. Methods: The main sources were searched in the scientific databases Taylor and Francis, Researchgate, ScienceDirect. In the included studies, individual researches were searched that were focused on the physiology of the body of the tested cyclists. These were experiments. These investigations investigated the overall performance using different cycling components. From the compared results of all researches, possible moderating factors of the influence of these components on the energy demand during driving were determined. Results:A total of 18 studies were used in this work, focusing on the physiological response of cyclists when using different components of a mountain bike and comparing somatic characteristics, including those of road cycling. Full-suspension mountain bikes provide greater comfort and shock absorption in off-road terrain, resulting in reduced physical exertion and energy demands during riding. Title: School in nature in primary education in the Karlovy Vary Region Objectives: Find out the content of schools in nature at the 1st grade of elementary schools in the Karlovy Vary region. Methods: The bachelor's thesis uses a quantitative approach to research. The necessary information was obtained by the questionnaire survey method. The research group consisted of 10 teachers from primary schools in the Karlovy Vary region. Results: The results show that primary schools organize outdoor schools. The program of outdoor schools mainly includes hiking in outdoor activities. Primary schools do not use the help of agencies dealing with outdoor schools, but prepare a program for pupils independently. Using gamification in the outdoors

Title: Gamification and its use in nature Aim: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create a comprehensive overview of gamification and to describe individual gamification elements in nature. Literature review: I have used the method of document analysis in the literature review. Academic texts available on the Web of Science, ResearchGate, Scopus and ScienceDirect platforms and those dealing with the topic have been the sources for the analysis. The gathered information has been systematically organized into a concise survey. Discussion and conclusion: Gamification is an interesting supporting element in many service areas and professions. It applies the fun concept of games to seemingly ordinary activities. The thesis has described gamification elements, which can be used in outdoor education programmes, and discusses positive and negative impacts on an individual. Based on the literature review and my own experience, we believe that the use of gamification in nature has a rather positive impact on human behavior. Title: Methodics of courses for sports classes with the elements of initiative and adventure games aimed at strengthening social interaction among pupils across grade levels. Goals: The aim of this thesis is to design and evaluate a game map for an outdoor course program for sports classes. Methods: I have used a descriptive-analytical approach, specifically the content analysis of texts dealing with the methodics of courses for sports classes and my personal practical experience. I have carefully sorted the gathered information and systematically processed it into a clear and concise summary. Results: Creating the methodics for a sports course with elements of initiative and adventure games and highlighting the significance of authorial game maps as a crucial component in fostering social connections among pupils. Conclusions: The thesis points out that it is possible to effectively develop pupils' social skills through adventurous elements and activities within a sports course. The proposed methodics for sports classes, using authorial game maps and dramaturgy, serves as an effective means to strengthen social connections among pupils. The impact of the Mindful camp outdoor course on conscious attention

Title: The impact of the Mindful camp outdoor course on conscious attention Objectives: To investigate the short- and long-term impact the Mindful camp outdoor course had on participants' conscious attention. Methods: This thesis uses qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews conducted with five anonymous adult participants of the Mindful camp outdoor course held 13-17 July 2022. The interviews were conducted before the camp, just after the camp, and five months after the camp. An open coding method was used to analyze and evaluate respondent's statements. Results: The three and half days long Mindful camp outdoor course had a positive short-term impact on the conscious attention of all five respondents. Only two of the five respondents felt a long-term impact on mindful attention five months after the camp. The other two were unable to assess the impact, and one respondent dismissed it completely. However, the outdoor environment was rated by all five respondents as very helpful and supportive of the process for practicing mindfulness and developing conscious attention, despite the perceived higher demands of the outdoor environment compared to the indoor environment.
