Self-efficacy and burnout syndrome among teachers in primary schools

Annotation: Teching is a profession burdened with high working stress that can in long term lead burnout syndrome. However, not all teachers suffer from burnout. They can be protected by factors as is for example teacher self-efficacy or social support. This bachelor theses is concerned with burnout syndrome among primary school teachers and also with the relationship between this phenomenon, teacher self-efficacy and social support. Theoretical part concludes theoretical ground according to authorities in the field and findings from previous research. The purpose of the empirical part is to develop an instrument for measuring teacher self-efficacy and to explore the relationship between burnout syndrome, teacher self-efficacy and social support. A questionnaire consisting of five parts was used: anamnestic part, Shirom-Melamed Burnout Measure, teacher self-efficacy questionnaire, SVF 78 and ESSI. Negative correlation was found between burnout, teacher self-efficacy and social support. No differences were found between women and men. Differences in teacher self-efficacy and social support were found between teachers with high burnout scores and teachers with low burnout scores. Attention in preschool children

English abstrakt The main task of the thesis is to identify and measure the attention of children of preschool age. It is divided into two parts. Theoretical part, which is devoted to the definition of attention, provides a comprehensive overview of the history beginning with the issue, describes the different types, characteristics, attention disorders and conditions affecting the attention. An integral part is a description of the preschool child and work with children of preschool age. The second part of the research, then engaged in empirical research with preschool children. Children in kindergarten were placed on various characteristics of the tests of attention. These tests were then evaluated and processed. Were investigated differences in tasks between children and between the three established groups of children Bachelor thesis aims to answer the question, what are the differences between the four-year, five year old and six year old children and compares the performance and level of awareness among different groups of children. Self-Concept of intellectually talented pupils of different types of basic education

The aim of this work is to find out if and how the structure of Self-Concept of a specific pupil population - intellectually talented pupils of different types of basic education - differs. In the theoretic part, the terms of Self-Concept and Talent are explained; attention is paid to a present view of different aspects of Self-Concept of intellectually talented pupils. The empirical part consists of design of the research, analysis and interpretation of the data. For the purpose of this work, I defined talented pupils as successful participants in Biology and Geography Olympiads in the Central Bohemia region. These pupils were given a questionnaire with four free response questions. By analyzing their answers, I found out, for example, that self-discipline is a common personality trait in both groups, talented students of Secondary Grammar Schools are more motivated by their positive relationship to a certain curriculum, and that talented pupils of the primary schools emphasize their social position in their class collective. The data were then analyzed and interpreted according to the findings of the literature.

The theoretical part, which is drawn to the attention, provides a comprehensive overview of the history beginning with the problem, describes the different types, characteristics, attention disorders and conditions affecting attention. An integral part is a description of the Early Childhood and work with children of preschool age. The second part of the research is then engaged in empirical research with children in kindergarten and continuing for one school year. Children were awarded for various characteristics of the tests of attention and their development was investigated. The aim of this work is determine the current level of achievement in the field of attention, the group's performance compared to four years and five children, and determine the potential impact of practice on the development of attention. Children from orphanages and their integration into the class group

Annotation: The thesis name The children from orphanages and their integration into the class group is focused on taking the role of student by children from orphanages. The thesis is divided into a theoretical, methodological and practical part. The theoretical part is devoted to family, school roles and long-term researches of Matějček and Langmeier on the psychological deprivation and sub-deprivation. The methodology section contains objectives of the thesis and structure of the research project. The practical part examined differences in the conception of the role of pupil children from orphanages and children from family care using observational, questionnaire and socio-metric method and verifies that the monitored pupils from the orphanage have difficulties with social integration into the class group. Effect of Hippo Rehabilitation od the Biological, Psychological and Social Components of Children with a Health Handicap in Relation with the Impact on School Success

The aim of this thesis is to map the effect of hippo rehabilitation on a change in school evaluation, interpersonal communication, behaviour and skills of the pupils with a health handicap. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part summarizes necessary information about hippo rehabilitation as a whole and its usability in treatment of disorders and diseases. In the first chapter, a brief history of hippo rehabilitation and its emergence as a treatment method is presented; followed by definitions of terms, division and characterization of the individual disciplines. The following part is devoted to the healing effect of hippo rehabilitation on both physical and psychological components of a human being, through the impact of specific and non-specific factors of the therapy. The third part describes the way the hippo rehabilitation is carried out in practice, as well as the conditions necessary for its performance. The healing effects and mechanisms of the individual disciplines are also dealt with. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with hippo rehabilitation in terms of its effect on human functions and characteristics that influence school success. ORLIKOVA, V. Evaluation of readiness for admission to primary school. Prague 2015. Diploma thesis. Charles University in Prague. Faculty of Education. Psychology department. The first chapter defines the concept of school maturity and readiness. The second chapter lays down the general criteria of child's maturity for primary school. It deals with pupil's physical, and especially psychical readiness for school. The third chapter describes several means of diagnosing school maturity and readiness by various methods and tests. The empiric part of the thesis deals with awareness of criteria of school maturity at selected schools and the means of their application for evaluation of readiness for admission to school. It also includes characteristics of the selected schools, used methods of research and results of the conducted research. In the last part of the thesis, there is a discussion and a conclusion. Children with deferred school attendance

This dissertation turns to questions of advancement of school preparedness at children with deferred school attendence. In my thesis, I consider possibilities of examination of the school preparedness level, description of its basic elements, and, especially, advisable intervention strategies and corrective proceedings leading to its development. The principal aim of the dissertation is creating of such stimulation program for this group of children which would lead to development of less advanced mental functions, and subsequently, to reduction of presented developmental deficiencies. Adoption and foster care - applicants about adoption and foster care and their worries

The Baccalaureate work deals with adoption and foster care focusing on the worries of applicants interested in adoption and foster care. Firstly in the theoretic part there are individual forms of adoption and foster care mentioned such as introduction to the specific subject. Further there are reasons of leaving child including the comparison of personal experiential inquiry of womenś reasons surrendering their child and experiential inquiry publicized by Z. Matějčkem The work also dedicates to the applicants' reasons for the adoption and foster care and their motivation to receiving child to their care. Further there are difficulties of adoption and foster care outlined and applicants' worries about this kind of care. In the practical part there is experiential inquiry mapping concerns of applicants for adoption and foster care and control group. The goal of Baccalaureate work it to map preferencies of adoption and foster care and find out applicants'concerns arising from this care including the control group. Conclusions are very interesting not only in the specific goals but also in the comparison of the applicants with the control group including the comparison with the accesibble literature.
