The report is a first outcome of the project “Role of Churches and the Importance of Religiosity in the Re-entry Care in the Czech Republic” supported by the Czech Academy of Sciences. It is an explorative study in the Czech Republic as it deals with understudied theme of competences of prison chaplains and volunteers within the re-entry care. The aim of the phase is to identify the limits and problematic aspects of such engagement and also to emphasize the effective approaches and positive outcomes. One of the goals is also to define the identity of chaplains and volunteers within the Czech prison system. \n\n
