The usage and applications of the secondary energy products to roads
Ištvánková, Veronika ; Hýzl,, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This thesis deals with monitoring the production of electric power and consequent formation and properties of the secondary energy products, their usage and applications to roads. The practical part of this thesis is focused on laboratory testing of several samples of the secondary energy products and evaluation of problematic properties – in particular the sensitivity to water and related volume changes.
The utilization of the asphalt and concrete recycled materials to roads
Žďára, Zbyněk ; Šperka, Pavel (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This diploma thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The is a review om the topic of recycled asphalt pavement and recycled concrete and their possible use in road construction in the theoretical part. The individual chapters deal with describing these materials, their production, and their use in construction layers of pavements. In the next chapters the attention is also paid to their problematic features and foreign experience using these materials in pavements. In the practical part, laboratory samples of recycled asphalt pavement and recycled concrete and their mixtures with cement are tested. The main purpose is to verify the applications of these mixtures of recycled asphalt pavement and recycled concrete in the bonded base layers of the pavement. Another purpose is to compare how these mixtures individual properties with different proportions of both components and different amounts of cement will be different. In the end, the two mixtures with the best properties was selected and the modulus of elasticity was experimentally determined for the possibility of replacing the currently used base layers and the economic evaluation of this design was made.
Recycled aggregates to asphalt mixtures of the flexible pavements
Kropáč, Pavel ; Zdřálek, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the theoretical part of the creation, distribution and recycling of construction and demolition waste. Subsequently covers made from these recycled construction and demolition waste and its potential application in structural layers of the pavement. In the practical part of the thesis deals with monitoring the overall properties of nine asphalt mixtures with different proportion of recycled concrete aggregate and asphalt binder, which are designed and intended for bed asphalt pavement. The recycled concrete aggregate and asphalt are performed various laboratory tests, the results are subjected to a comparison with the relevant standards and TP 210. The conclusion is made price comparisons of asphalt mixtures.
The dynamic cone penetrometer for compaction control of the pavement subgrade
Krajčovič, Tomáš ; Hýzl, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The basis of this piece is focused on a literature review, describing the use of the dynamic cone penetrometer, used to control the compaction degree of the subsoil road, consisting of fine-grained soil. The practical part focuses on its main goal, which is to observe the dependence of dynamic penetration on the compactibility of the fine-grained soil mixture.
The geosynthetics for roads
Kolková, Nela ; Hýzl,, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
Bachelor thesis presents the material used for production of geosynthetics, the various types of commonly used geosynthetics and describes their specific functions and properties. It shows the processes of applications of geosynthetics and typical errors in these processes, foreign experience with the use of geotextiles and products of domestic manufacturers. In the practical section thesis compares the various proposals of geotextiles for various bedrocks. Including financial evaluation of individual proposals.
Determination of elasticity modulus for base layers
Hepner, Urban ; Mondschein,, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the experimental determination of the resilient modulus using cyclic triaxial test with the selected unbound mixtures of the base course of the pavement. The aim is to verify whether the proposed modulus-resilient in the regulation TP 170 based on the statisticaly verified data dating several decades ago is still valid in the present. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the dependence between the measured and the calculated values of the modulus resilient Mr from the cyclic triaxial test and the California Bearing Ratio tests. For the classification of the selected materials, further tests are used in the thesis, such as granularity and compaction tests.
The Usage of the dynamic cone penetrometer to road buildings
Antošová, Klára ; Hýzl,, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The work is devoted to the topic of dynamic cone penetrometer use in road construction. The first part deals with the description of the measuring device of dynamic cone penetrometer and using it in controlling compaction of embankments of roads. Furthermore, comparing the correlation relationships with other commonly used tests. The practical part deals with comparing the results of CBR and DCP on the same materials and evaluation of both tests.
Quality of the recycled aggregates to the roads
Sokolová, Veronika ; Pecha, Karel (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
Theoretical part of the thesis describes the production, properties and characteristics of recycled aggregates and the resulting assessment of the suitability of its use in the construction of roads. The practical part is focused on implementing the basic tests of aggregates according to applicable standards, such as bulk density, water absorption and resistance to crushing of aggregates. Tests are performed on fractions of the three types of recycled aggregate and then compared with the same results of tests on natural aggregates.
The usage of asphalt and concrete recycled materials to roads
Svrčina, Vít ; Valentin, Jan (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
Currently it is important to address the re-use of building materials from construction reconstructed or upgraded roads. Commonly used technologies cold and hot asphalt recycling are starting using to complement with technologies using cold asphalt mixtures with rejuvinators or softeners. This type of asphalt mixtures could be used in pavement constructions with lower traffic load. This thesis deals with the design and laboratory assessment of unbound and bound mixtures R-material and recycled concrete. This thesis is experimentally testing the possibility of using functional tests to optimize the design of asphalt mixture with 100% representation of R-material with a possible revival of asphalt emulsion with a rejuvenator.
The quality of the fill crushed aggregate to the pavements
Surá, Kateřina ; Dašek, Ondřej (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the quality monitoring of fine particle aggregates used in the road construction mixtures and in the base layers of roads. In the laboratory of Institute of road structures VUT Brno was made an evaluation of the six test samples of fine and coarse aggregates to determinate a proportion of fine-grained aggregates, the limits of fluidity and shape index.
