Sysel, Jakub ; Janok, Jakub (referee) ; Sátora, Josef (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Ladislav (advisor)
This thesis solves one object that functionally extends the existing sports facilities in Vodova street in Královo pole in the city district of Brno. The building stands alone and doesn't adjoin to any other building. The main objective was to create a base for more comfortable using of sports fields. The solution was to design locker rooms for visitors and a gallery with a café for currently physically inactive guests. It also serves as the main entrance to the field including box office. The building is designed to allow easy access from the field to the locker rooms and that even bystanders were able to watch the action on the field. They can watch not only from the ground level, but also from the café space, which is connected with a large balcony. The construction is communicatively connected to the outside ice rink area, which is used for other sports during the summer. The height of the object is derived from buildings around, which consists of terraced houses and sports halls.

Characteristic features of today's society include fast way of life, mobility of people, change the way of life and social scenarios. Nowadays, at the time of the information society, life is closely connected to the development of information technologies (for example, people are not attached to workplace in the office anymore and can work from home). Urban and settlement development is influenced, as well, by a high and ever increasing degree of urbanization, globalization, increasing environmental devastation. Demographic and social structure of the population are changing. Society is constantly changing so intensely that housing fases with new requirements that it should be able to meet. The aim of this project is to find urban and architectural possibilities for solution of current housing issues in the context of the former Kohn brick building in the city of Brno. This project is my effort to understand how approach to housing design changes or how it should change, as well as on my tries to understand how to create a high quality desing which will be able to satisfy current housing trends and needs. Brno is the second largest city in the Czech Republic. It has features of post-industrial city with a large number of unused industrial sites. One of such sites is former Kohn's brickyard, which was selected for developing in this master's thesis. The site of the former Kohn's brickyard is located on land belonging partly to the cadastral area of Bohunice, partly to the cadastral area of Štýřice, and this is a very potential area for further development.
Living in Old Brno - architecture and urban study
Krempaský, Tomáš ; Sátora, Josef (referee) ; Kopáčik, Gabriel (advisor)
The topic of my thesis is living in the old Brno in the cadastral area of Old Brno . Currently selected area on the map of brownfiedlu of Brno and the question of his fate has become a hot topic. For the design of a successful revitalization area is necessary to think not only the local context , but also over the issue of sustainable development across the board , in the context of the current situation in the company and its vision of the future . Therefore, in my thesis I try to answer the upcoming questions . 1 / What today is sustainability ? 2 / As , influenced by the ideas of sustainability , access to urban planning ? 3 / Which new role and function should be proposed territory ? 4 / As a suggestion area involved in the existing urban structure ? 5 / How to turn onset territory in a sustainable , vibrant and healthy urban structure ? In spatial planning , I emphasized in terms of sustainable development into two functions . On the one hand, promote the development and direction needed to remove the obstacles . On the other hand, to protect the natural and cultural values of the area , which are irreplaceable and non-renewable . Both tasks I tried to balance because of slipping into one extreme, could block the necessary economic and social development or, conversely, to promote development without hindrance , while I was forced to sacrifice irreplaceable natural and cultural assets . There are more models of sustainable urban forms , but some feature are common . I decided in its proposal to create a compact urban structure with multiple functions and interconnection network of streets with the support of the public transport system , quality control environment and a high level of local government and the incorporation of green with the use of passive solar gains .
