Physiological responses on standardized climbing task in sport climbers
Gajdošík, Jan ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Radvanský, Jiří (referee)
Title: Physiological responses on standardized climbing task in sport climbers Purpose: To determine the effect of height, wall angle, climbing speed and climbing ability on physiological responses in sport climbers. Methods: The study was divided into three parts. 75 sport climbers (36 female and 39 male) completed differing tests on climbing wall and motorized climbing ergometer. Perceived exertion was assessed on a scale suggested by Borg. Indirect calorimetry, venous blood samples and near-infrared spectroscopy were used to assess physiological response, hormonal response and muscle oxygen saturation, respectively. Results: Perceived exertions were higher when climbing to height as opposes to climbing low to the ground on the treadwall (+5,3%; P = 0,013; ηp 2 = 0,149) (Study 1A). The physiological response was higher on the climbing wall as opposed to the treadwall: V̇ O2 (+6%; P = 0,03; ηp 2 = 0,22), SF (+4%; P = 0,04; ηp 2 = 0,20), V̇ E (+9%; P = 0,01; ηp 2 = 0,30) a EC (+16%; P < 0,001; ηp 2 = 0,48). There was an interaction for climbing ability and post- climbing catecholamine concentration (P < 0,01, ηp 2 = 0,28) (Study 1B). With increasing climbing speed greater differences were found for V̇ O2 (P < 0,001, ηp 2 = 0,923) than for StO2 (P < 0,001, ηp 2 = 0,448). Between-subject effect...

The results were statistically processed and described. Keywords: physical activity, 3DPAR questionnaire, pedometer I agree the thesis paper to be lent within the library service.
Systemic arterial hypertension and strain
Sakaláš, Radovan ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Procházka, Miroslav (referee)
Bachelor thesis "Systemic arterial hypertension and exercise" deals with hypertension and exercise. Physiology of the circulatory system, as well as blood pressure regulation and measurement is covered in the first section. The next section discusses definition, classification, and subtype classification. Furthermore, the thesis discusses pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment of hypertension. The main part of the thesis covers exercise blood pressure reaction as a diagnostic tool for determining risk for future hypertension. Moreover, exercise and physical activity is described as a therapeutic tool in blood pressure reduction. This section compares and determines the intensity, frequency, and period of endurance and resistance training needed for an optimal blood pressure reduction. The final section is dedicated to the mechanisms of exercise effect on blood pressure. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Checking of clinical functions in patients with multiple cerebrospinal sclerosis - changes after the aerobic training
Sobotková, Lenka ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor) ; Radvanský, Jiří (referee)
The aim of the this dissertation was to introduce a set of examinations of clinical functions in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), which would be optimum for utilisation in physiotherapeutic practice, and also to compare changes to the individual examinations of this set after the patients underwent therapy consisting of aerobics training. We also monitored the persistence of the therapy's effect a month after its termination. The research was conducted on a set of 6 probands in the case of whom MS had been definitively confirmed, motor handicaps predominated, and the EDSS ranking was 3 to 5. Aerobic training took place twice a week for eight weeks. The intensity and length délka zátěže were stipulated individually according to the zátěžového vyšetření. After the therapy there were significant improvements (a p-value less than 0.05) only in the examination of cognitive functions, though we recorded a relatively significant improvement (a p-value of almost 0.05) in the case of investigations of balance, the functions of the upper limbs, and trembling in the upper limbs. On the other hand there was a relatively significant deterioration in the investigation of dysmetry in the lower limbs. We ascribe the overall minimal improvements in most of the functions investigated partly to the very unfavourable...
Diabetes mellitus type I. and physical activity
Douša, Martin ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Procházka, Michal (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with diabetes mellitus type 1 and the opportunity of compensation by adequate physical activity, focusing on middle age and older patients, having suffered from diabetes for a long period of time. The thesis focuses on the different attributes of the burden, affecting the daily life of patients with diabetes. For better understanding and clarity of the issue, the work is divided into several chapters and sections dealing separately with the influence of physical activity and potential profits from regular, properly indicated motion for compensated patients. The thesis also describes involution changes occurring in the aging organism, which are always necessary to be taken into consideration when selecting a physical activity. The work is supplemented with pictures and graphs in the annex that enable a better show, and outline the issues. In my work, I not only try to show the positive influence of a wellchosen physical activity in patients with diabetes, but also highlight the potential risks and hazards coming from an improperly chosen therapy. Furthermore, I attempt to offer the chance to look at this type of therapy from several different perspectives. My aim is to show that a properly chosen physical therapy in individually selected range and performance should be much more...
Reliability of visually assessed postural stabilization tests
Cíle: Prostřednictvím dvojice zkušených a dvojice nezkušených hodnotitelů stanovit inter- a intra-rater reliabilitu u tří baterií TPS, vypracovat podrobnou popisnou statistiku a porovnat naše výsledky s literaturou. Materiál a metody: Byly vybrány tři baterie aspekčních TPS zaměřených na bederní páteř (Kolář 2006, Luomajoki et al. 2007, Tidstrand a Horneij 2009). Provedení testů bylo nezávisle hodnoceno současně dvěma zkušenými a dvěma nezkušenými hodnotiteli na smíšeném souboru zdravých osob (n = 15, 10 žen, průměrný věk 44,5 ± 11,0 let) a pacientů s vertebrogenním algickým syndromem bederní páteře bez neurologického deficitu a neurochirurgického výkonu na páteři v posledních pěti letech (n = 16, 8 žen, průměrný věk 45,9 ± 13,6 let). Hodnocení testů předcházela jejich formalizace (pozitivita jednotlivých znaků, binární hodnocení celkové pozitivity testu). Ke stanovení reliability jsme použili procentní shodu (a%) a koeficient...
Acute effect of head down tilt on blood pressure and haert rate
Tolar, Jan ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Procházka, Michal (referee)
Whereas the effects of a long-term activity of head-down tilt (HDT) in the angle between 3ř and 12ř were examined in details in cosmic medicine as the model of a state of weightlessness, literature concerning effect of HDT on cardiovascular control in the angle over 30ř is scarce. The aim of the thesis is to examine acute reaction of systolic, diastolic, mean arterial blood pressure and heart rate during three minutes of 30ř, 50ř and 70ř HDT, realized on a tilt (inversion) table with fixed legs. For the combination of HDT and head-up tilt (HUT), the following protocol was chosen: 5 minutes lying in a horizontal position (HOR), 3 minutes of 70ř HUT, 3 minutes of 30ř HDT, 3 minutes of HOR, 3 minutes of 50ř HDT, 3 minutes HOR, 3 minutes of 70ř HDT, 3 minutes HOR and 3 minutes of 70ř HUT. A non-invasive continuous Peňáz method, using Finapres Ohmeda, was used to monitor beat-by-beat blood pressure and heart rate. Blood pressure was also measured by sphygmomanometer each minute for calibration. In the angle of 30ř HDT, there was a significant decline of heart frequency (p < 0,01). During the 50ř HDT, there was a significant rise of systolic blood pressure in the third minute, of diastolic and mean arterial pressure each minute and the heart rate dropped significantly (all p < 0.05). In the 70ř HDT,...
