The wooden structure of the building for a kindergarten
Dreslerová, Natálie ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee) ; Bukovská, Pavla (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is a design of a timber structure for living rooms of a kindergarden in the village of Vlkov near Velká Bíteš, and a creation of a 3D model using the BIM method. The entire building has only one above-ground floor and consists of two structural parts. The first part is mainly designed from masonry and reinforced concrete elements. The second part is an annex consisting of two identical „wings“ with structural elements made of glued laminated timber. The supporting system consists of transverse frames formed by beams and columns, which are then supplemented with purlins that transfer the load of the roof and with stiffening elements in the form of steel tie rods. The timber extensions are covered with a mono pitched roof with a slope of about 5°. The static model and determination of internal forces were ensured by the Scia Engineer 22.0 calculation program. The assessment of individual elements themselves was done manualy using Microsoft Excel. Connections are solved using steel connecting elements that were selected and verified by manual calculation. A significant part of the work was based on cooperation with colleagues from the Institute of civil engineering and from the Institut of concrete and masonry structures.
Steel structure of library
Karlíková, Magdaléna ; Horáček, Martin (referee) ; Pešek, Ondřej (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor thesis is a design and check of a load-bearing steel structure of a library. The structure is located in Nivnice and it’s ground dimension is 24 x 30 m. Its height, including the attic, reaches 6 m. The building is designed as a single hall, whose ceiling structure is a lattice grate with 1 m height, which is supported by 16 columns. These columns are at an 34 degree angle, which helps with rigidity of the structure. Another element ensuring the rigidity are the ceiling bracings, which are located around the perimeter of both upper and bottom lane of the grate. Roof cladding is attached to the beam of the upper lane in just one direction and the wall cladding is attached to both lanes. Structure is made out of steel S235. Thesis includes the assesment of the main load bearing structure elements, it’s details and drawing solutions.
Roofing of railway station "Brno - Main Station"
Jež, Matěj ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee) ; Karmazínová, Marcela (advisor)
The objective of the master thesis is to design and verify sufficient resistance of load-bearing construction system of main station roofing in Brno. The plan shape is irregular, maximal plan shape dimensions are around 260 x 260 m. The roof structure consists of standardised grid. The structure has variable height, roof top edge is 25,060 m above terrain. In this paper, two variants of the structure are compared.
Steel lookout tower
Šenk, Josef ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee) ; Horáček, Martin (advisor)
The aim of the master thesis is a design and an assessment of a steel construction of a lookout tower. The lookout tower is located on the top of a hill near to village called Senetářov. There were designed two different options. The first one has a plan in the shape of hexagon, which is rotated on each floor. A plan of the second option is in the shape of rotational hyperboloid. Both options were assessed and compared, and the first option was chosen to be developed in greater detail. The total height of the lookout tower is 31,2 metres and the maximum dimension of the plan is 6,9 metres. The whole construction of the lookout tower is designed from steel grade S235 J2.
Railway station roofing
Kašpír, Filip ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee) ; Horáček, Martin (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is the design and assessment of a railway station roofingin the city of Brno. The new layout solution takes into account the current dimensions of the railway station. Ground plan dimensions of the structure are 76x205 m with the maximum height of 14,6 m. The main load-bearing part of the roof structure is represented by a truss, which has the shape of an double arch. The truss is latticed. With an axial distance of the upper and the lower belt of 2.0 m and axial distance of the trusses of 6.0 m. Spatial rigidity is ensured in the transverse and longitudinal directions by stiffeners, which are distributed symmetrically. The diploma thesis contains a static calculation of purlins, truss and of joints. The whole roof structure is then clad with panels.
A Content Analysis of the Media Reporting on Canada 150 with a Special Focus on Coverage of Indigenous Issues in the Canadian Media
Pešek, Ondřej ; Fiřtová, Magdalena (advisor) ; Szobi, Pavel (referee)
In 2017, Canada celebrated a significant anniversary - 150 years since the enactment of the British North America Act, which granted Canada the status of Dominion. Celebrations were held across Canada to mark the occasion, with the main event that took place on July 1 at Parliament Hill. However, many Indigenous peoples, in light of past injustices and current problems, had no reason to celebrate and found the celebrations more like a reminder of colonialism. This is despite the government's effort to emphasize the theme of reconciliation with Indigenous peoples as part of the celebrations. This paper examines whether and, if so, how Indigenous perspectives on the celebrations were reflected in the Canadian media and whether these media contributed to the perpetuation of coloniality in Canada. At the beginning of the thesis, the current state of the academic debate on this topic, the terminology associated with Indigenous peoples, and the concept of coloniality are discussed. The thesis then examines the celebration of the sesquicentennial of Canada, with attention paid to both the organizational aspect and the relationship between the celebration and coloniality. The final section focuses on the media analysis, first introducing the methodology used and then presenting the results of the research....
Roofing of the grandstand in Pohořelice
Horníčková, Kateřina ; Horáček, Martin (referee) ; Pešek, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the design of the steel structure roofing of the grandstand in Pohořelice. The plan dimensions of the structure are 19,35 x 5 m, the height is 3,35 m. The main load-bearing structure is a curved L-shaped frame with variable cross-section. Stability is complemented by couplings in vertical and roof planes. There are two braced bay. The roof structure is placed on wooden purlins. The construction material is steel S235 and wood class C20.
Botanical greenhouse
Orságová, Martina ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee) ; Horáček, Martin (advisor)
The thesis deals with design and structural analysis of the botanical greenhouse constructed from steel members. Greenhouse is situated in Zlín. Footprint of the building is 20x38m with 15m height. Structure is made from 7 steel trusses connected by hinges to pad foundations with are 6m apart. Trusses are connected via purlins and girts. General stiffness is provided by traversal and longitudinal truss bracings. The object is single nave hall with curved roof. The façade is made from glass rectangles.
Steel structure of heliport
Kuttelwascherová, Olga ; Horáček, Martin (referee) ; Pešek, Ondřej (advisor)
The main subject of this bachelor’s thesis is the design and static analysis of the freestanding steel structure of heliport in the hospital complex in Šumperk. The landing area has an octagonal shape and is 17 meters high above the ground. The main bearing structure consists of truss girders, which are supported by eight columns. Most of the bearing elements have a circular hollow cross-section. The spatial stability is ensured by the truss bracings. Members of the structure are from the structural steel S355. The internal forces and deformations were calculated by software Dlubal RFEM. The thesis also includes a technical report and a drawing documentation.
Kuřim tennis hall
Křivánek, David ; Balázs, Ivan (referee) ; Pešek, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design and assessment of the steel structure of a tennis hall, which is located in the town of Kuřim. Floor plan dimensions are 40x84 m and construction height 16 m. The roof structure is designed as a purlinless system. The structure consists of 15 main trusses formed by arch trusses over an axial distance of 6 m. Spatial rigidity of the structure providing sway and longitudinal bracing. The trusses are interconnected by a system of longitudinal braces. The gable columns are pin-supported to the truss and do not transfer the load from the roof structure. The anchoring of main trusses and gable columns is designed as articulated with the base plate.
