Vladimirova, Diana ; Mikušiak, Igor (advisor) ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (referee)
The bachelor thesis aims to describe and interpret the fundamental vectors of creative initiative of the Serbian avant-garde artist, film critic, and publicist Boško Tokin. Tokin emerges as one of the most complex avant-garde creators in the context of Serbian avant-garde history, successfully revitalizing and transforming the forms of Serbian interwar culture both practically and theoretically, without unnecessary gestures or affectation. This thesis will approach his work in this manner. The focus will be on Tokin's significant and unmistakable role as a member of the avant- garde group associated with the magazine "Zenit". He was not only a novelist and poet but also a prominent publicist and film critic. The constants of his various activities will be presented. The highlight of the content will be the reflection on his novel "Terazije", which will undergo thorough analysis. Keywords Boško Tokin; Terazije; avant-garde; Zenitism, Belgrade; short avantgarde novel

White armband day and its interpretation in media discourse
Vykypělová, Barbora ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Žíla, Ondřej (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on differing media interpretation of the "White Armband Day" commemoration, referring to the 1992 campaign by the Bosnian Serb authorities in the Prijedor region of northern Bosnia and Herzegovina, which served as a prelude to subsequent ethnic cleansing in the civil war of this former Yugoslav republic. For the purpose of correct contextualization, the thesis covers the historical-political background of the commemoration and the current approach of the local authorities, because while the Bosnian and Bosnian-Croat community around the world regularly commemorates this day, the approach of both citizens and local governments directly in the area of Prijedor, located today on the territory of the Republika Srpska entity, is considerably different.

The concept of colors in the interwar novel The Diary of Čarnojević by Miloš Crnjanski
Jočić, Aleksandra ; Mikušiak, Igor (advisor) ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (referee)
This paper discusses the symbolism of color in Miloš Crnjanski's novel called The Diary of Čarnojević. The novel itself is set in the context of World War I, which the author himself experienced. The Diary of Čarnojević is a text that reflects on World War I from an avant-garde position with minimal distance; the theme of this event is thus a central motif throughout the novel, which is also reflected in the symbolism and use of color. The thesis focuses on color, looking for and describing its central motifs (if they were identified for a given color) and determining whether they are used merely as descriptive or whether they influence the text enough to allow for a new interpretation of the context or events. This thesis aims to highlight the author's perception of the colors in question and outline another possible interpretation of the novel. A summary of all the colors that appear in the text is presented, as well as all the words that are described as colored. In this way, the reader will be better able to grasp the primary motifs of color and possibly uncover those that are not so prominent and are lost in the text itself. The aim, therefore, is not only to clarify the author's use of color in this text and the system he employs in working with it, but also to encourage readers of the novel...
The influence of multicultural parenting on the child's language development - Czech v Croatian
Tichá, Klára ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Stranjik, Helena (referee)
This work deals with the role of multicultural influences on a child's language development. The primary goal of this thesis is to assess how much influence multiculturalism has on a child's development, not only in the process of language acquisition, but in general in the personal development and self-identification of a bilingual individual that interacts with the majority of society. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. The introductory chapters of the theoretical part explain the related terminology and the most common terms related to the main topic of the work. The following chapters describe and explain the history of the development of Croat - Czech relations and the situation of national minorities in the territory of both states. The theoretical part concludes with chapters on the definition of the theoretical basis of the language, including the necessary excursion into the issues between the process of simultaneous acquisition of multiple languages and the integration of bilingual individuals into society. The empirical part describes the research methodology and then presents the primary and additional findings concerning the influences of family and the majority of society on not only the linguistic but also personality development of a bilingual child,...
The Srebrenica Massacre in the Context of Ethnic Conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Mehić, Sabina ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Vlainić, Sandra (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses on ethnic problems in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BaH) in the second half of the 20th century, and especially the reasons that led to the Srebrenica massacre. The aim of the thesis will be to analyze the important causes in the ethnic transformations of BaH that led to the Srebrenica genocide. In the first part of the bachelor thesis I would like to introduce the historical context and the basic data that are important for understanding the later issues. The focus will be on the beginning and course of the civil war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s. In the second part of my bachelor's thesis, I would like to focus directly on the events in Srebrenica, especially the circumstances that contributed to one of the largest massacres in Europe after 1945. There are many different perspectives on this event and the aim of this thesis will be to orient myself in this situation and try to evaluate everything as objectively as possible.
Czechs and Belgrade 1918-1939
Trojan, Pavel ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Linda, Jaromír (referee)
Mass coming of Czechs to Serbia dates back to the second half of the 19th century. The reasons were mostly economical. Developing Serbia was lack of experts in many fields and thus the Czech people were officially called for. The Czechs were coming together and were establishing Czech organizations. A big mutual migration of Czech people and Yugoslav people between Czechoslovakia and The SHS Kingdom started after the foundation of these independent countries in 1918 and was supported in all domains. A lot of Czechs settled in Belgrade. Most of them were members of Czechoslovakian community. There was also Czechoslovakian primary school and in 1928 Czechoslovakian house was ceremonially opened. Lessons were held here along with various cultural happenings. The relationships at the international cultural level were ensured by Czechoslovakian-Yugoslav and Yugoslav-Czechoslovakian leagues. The political relationship was ensured by the Little Entente. The Second World War was a sign for post-war migration of the Belgrade Czechs back to Czechoslovakia. Czechoslovakian primary school and community stopped existing. Since 1989 there were a few attempts of Czechoslovakian community revival in Belgrade by the authentic pre-war and postwar community members.
